Try to go in good weather as it’s mostly outside and can be muddy.

You are only allowed to take small bags around the sites so I had to leave my backpack in the coach, which worked out fine.

Definitely worth taking a packed lunch to save time and money when at Auschwitz.

Lying about departure time

They lied about depature time. Booked at 10.00am, but the company changed it to 6.25 in the morning - less than 24h before - therefore stating that money back not possible. They for sure knew about that earlier than 24h just not noticing us to disable unbooking policy. On the way back we had to wait 50 minutes for people not part of our group. Overall very disappointed - no apologies given at all. The guide on the site was great, but did not belong to the excursion company, so not part of this review.

The Auschwitz Birkenau Tour is an experience that everyone should attend. It should be a pilgrimage to all. It was quite difficult at times but the story needs to be told as this must never happen again.

A must-see / take the early morning tour

I recommend taking the very early morning tour which enabled us to be a very small group of 9 and to visit the camps with absolutely no waiting time or crowds. The tour was very well organized, with a very good guide, earphones to hear her well, and the whole visit is very instructive and moving. This is something you have to see once in your life to grasp the horrendous reality of the Shoah. I learned a lot of things and the 3-hour tour flew by real quickly. I think the experience would have been different with large crowds since some people behave inappropriately and ruin the solemnity of the place. Please be aware it is a long tour with long walks and little shade. Don't bring bulky bags, and don't forget your ID. Vending machines for snacks outside the memorial (no eating allowed inside). Don't forget to take a bottle of water if it's really hot.

I Think it is very impotant that this museum is going on, so that we never forget the storie. It was a sad tour but i am glad that i’ve seen it with my own eyes. The stories of all the hurt and to see all the pictures was an experience that i never Will forget.

Great tour, good guide, shame the booking company changed our start time and had no lunches that we had paid for, will I get some form of refund?

Start time can change very last minute

The tour itself was fine. The guide was good. But I booked a tour for 2:15pm and at 4pm the day before, they changed the tour start time to 6:15am. That messed up my schedule for the whole day. If you have other things planned for the day, beware of the uncertainty of the start time. I also called a day prior to confirm the time and got an email confirming the start time before they changed it last minute.

We booked it online two months before for a 10.30am start because we needed a good night sleep after travelling from UK. Day before(4pm) our tour to Auschwitz we received a message that the start has changed for 6.15am!! We weren’t happy as travelling with kids. We had to wake up at 5am to get ready and arrive on time to the meeting place. When I asked if I can cancel I’ve been told yes but I will not be refunded. Apparently, they have a right to change the time day before. We had no choice but to go. The mini bus was basic but the driver was very good. The young man who was in charge of transfer (half Aussie/Polish) was very nice and explained everything about the tour once we got there. It was a very hot day (30C) so actually starting earlier turned out to be a good idea. Also at 8am the museum is quieter. We also had the best tour guide during the tour in Auschwitz and Birkenau. He was excellent! Overall very pleased. Maybe the information about time change should be in bold writing.

The former Auschwitz Birkenau camp was really impressive to see, as especially the gate and the railway lines are so often described and shown in historical documents. The tour was really informative and our guide had a lot of knowledge. But her voice was kind of hard to understand as well as her English with an hard polish accent. We spend a good three hours in Auschwitz | and Auschwitz Birkenau || and got to see a lot. It was a valuable experience .

Comfortable bus ride...

Comfortable bus ride there, and they gave us a lot of time to explore both camps. Only thing is the pick up point was a little confusing as there is no signage. We had to go into the hotel and ask where it was.

I have been to Auschwitz-Birkenau with skoolclasses from Norway, this time with four grandchildren (15-17) and a dauther. The exhibition in Auschwitz was touching and thoughtprovoking, but to experience Birkenau, the vaste area, the crematories and baracs schoked them.

The whole tour was great! We booked just a day ahead and we were picked up by a car ( just the 3 of us) and our driver, Roman was very friendly. Audriana assisted us with the tickets and everything just went smoothly until Roman dropped us off at our hotel.

Confusing

When we got to Autzwich the respresentitive seemed stressed and provided unnecessarily confusing instructions and to top it off, could barely speak English. I believe the tour had been changed as we were advised to go to Autzwich camp 2 first, followed by camp one. This took away from the reality and full understanding of the experience.

Ride between (to and from) Krakow and Austwichts was smooth and on time. I would appreciate if there were a contact person or coordinator at the meeting point in Krakow. All the tour attendees were asking each other if the place for meeting is the correct point or not.

Extreme poor customer service

Our tour that they switched us to was not what we purchased. When we inquired about compensation we were told that we would get refunded 25% but would need to go through Viator website. When I jumped through all of their hoops we only were refunded 13%. Although thankful to still be able to see what we did, very disappointed in their customer service!! Wish they would fix this for us…

Overall good, a bit rushed

Mercedes minibus was on time, clean and air conditioned, journey from Krakow is about 80 minutes, driver did stop for toilet break. Arrival at Auschwitz was well organised with a rep issuing the tickets. Airport style security is required to gain entry then a specialist guide takes over taking to you through your own individual headphones and radio receiver. The whole experience is very sobering and at times emotional. My only criticism and reason for not giving 5 stars was that it felt rushed with little time in each exhibition but I can understand why due to volume of people there. No regrets on going to a reminder of why we must not forget the past if we don’t want it repeated.
