    What To Expect

Meet a driver at your Krakow hotel for departure between 830am and 9:30am, then board a Mercedes Benz minivan or minibus for the 70-minute trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Along the way, the short documentary The Liberation of Auschwitz will be screened, including footage by the Soviet soldiers who freed the camp.

Upon arrival at Auschwitz-Birkenau, join a guide for a 3.5-hour guided tour of the camps, now preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll see barracks, train tracks, and long rows of gas chamber chimneys, and learn the story of those who suffered and died in the largest concentration and extermination centers in the Nazi Third Reich.

Following your time at Auschwitz-Birkenau, continue to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, a roughly 1.5-hour drive. Pause for an hour-long lunch break at the mines (a packed lunch can be provided upon request, at additional expense).

Enter the 13th-century, UNESCO-listed salt mine for a 2.5-hour guided tour, touring a landscape carved from salt, with pillars, vaulted ceilings, and sculptures in glistening white. This full-day tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or at another location in central Krakow.

Well organized. Knowledgeable driver / tour guide. Open to questions. Seemed genuinely concerned for our comfort and wellbeing. It is a long day with lots of walking (my watch recorded 14 km over the entire day). Felt quite rushed at Auschwitz, however I want to clarify that this is not the fault of this tour company but rather the way Auschwitz is organized to deal with as many visitors as they are getting. The pace at Birkenau was much better and the Salt Mines was quite fun and interesting.
    Brilliant Tour

Great tour. Driver was friendly and knowledgeable. Tour guides at Auschwitz and salt mines were superb. Fast paced and long day but well worth it. Couple of tips, you will need to bring id with you and bring a bag of food and drinks as time is a bit limited between sites. You can leave the bag on the bus during the tours. Would definitely recommend this tour.
    Brilliant tours

Easy communication on collection point for the trip, tours were brilliant and so glad we did the salt mines immediately after the camps to lift moral a little after being somewhere with such history of horror.
An Educational and once in a life time experience

Our tour guide suzanna for the Auschwitz tour was amazing and explained everything so well. The salt sculptures in the salt mines were so cool and interesting to learn how everything was made and done. The only bad thing Id say would be the 5:45am pick up but understandable as to why so early when you see how busy the attractions are and the amount of people that have to be picked up. The bus could've been a bit more comfortable/bigger as myself and my boyfriend are 6ft and over and it's a small bus. Thanks so much
    Excellent tour

At Auschwitz we felt EXTREMELY rushed by our guide. I would have never taken this monumental tour if I had any idea it would be so rushed. Truly, I felt cheated. We paid good money for this trip of a lifetime and it turned into a big disappointment. You should not attempt to go on a tour of this magnitude and try to rush through it. The salt mine was better, but unfortunately the guide could not speak good English. I had a big time problem understanding what she was trying to say. I appreciate her efforts and liked her as a person, but she was not qualified as an English speaking guide. Once again I felt cheated by paying good money for a tour and could not understand ten per cent of what the guide said. Also, it is unrealistic to expect us to order food and eat lunch in thirty minutes. You probably do not need to offer the Auschwitz and salt mine tours in the same day. It is just too rushed. Bus was comfortable and driver was very professional. Thanks.
    Response from Host, Apr 2023
Dear Nancy, I'm sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience during your tour of Auschwitz. It's understandable that you expected a more leisurely pace, but please keep in mind that the tours at Auschwitz are designed and run by the museum itself, and we have limited control over the content and timing of the tour. That being said, we will certainly bring your concerns to the attention of the museum, and encourage them to consider the feedback of their visitors in future tours. Regarding the salt mine, we apologize for the language barrier you experienced with your guide. We do try our best to ensure that guides are fluent in English, but unfortunately, this are also appointed by The Museum. We appreciate your understanding and will strive to improve in this area. Finally, we understand that the time allotted for lunch may have been too short for some visitors, but please keep in mind that the schedule is designed to allow for as much sightseeing as possible. We appreciate your feedback on this, and will take it into consideration in future tours. We're glad to hear that you found the bus comfortable and the driver professional, and we hope that you will consider giving us another chance in the future. Best regards, Mateusz
    Shocking communication from tour operator
    Tanianott, Apr 2023
When booking this tour we had 7 am on the website, however expecting confirmation in advance of a pick up time. 5pm day before still no confirmation, I tried calling no answer, sent 2 messages via viator still no answer, contacted viator and they could not get any answer from them. I then emailed through the website, 9pm that night I had a reply saying pick up was 5.55 am 🤦‍♀️ We had to miss breakfast, the communication was shocking.
An educational day with a comfortable ride.

It was a well put together tour around Auschwitz. Just to warn you the tour around Auschwitz Camp 1 is a little rushed due to the sheer number of tours taking place, this isn't the fault of the company though I'm only saying to warn you! Camp 2 has a slower pace and allows time to emotionally reflect on the horrors a bit more. Our guide was truly exceptional for Auschwitz and I can't fault her at all, truly wonderful, full of information and even suggests further reading and documentaries to watch. The salt mine was an incredible sight, I didn't really know what to expect but it was fantastic, though you are part of a much larger group for this. Its a really good way to decompress after a heavy morning in Auschwitz and the beauty in some of the chapels in the mine is hard to rival. Salt chandeliers hang from the ceiling and salt carvings adorn the chambers. A must see for the area! The minibus was comfortable and the driver was absolutely lovely, I would book with this company again!!

The Auschwitz tour, by its very nature, could hardly be described as 'enjoyable' but it should definitely be experienced. We were there on a cold, windy day with sleet blowing in our faces, all of which heightened the sombreness. Tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Salt mines are spectacular! Overall, highly recommended!
Peter a credit to your company. What a fab day
    Erin_J, Mar 2023
Peter picked us up from our hotel promptly on time, he was very friendly and explained we were going to pick another 2 off before setting off. We then set off and Peter told us history about krakow when driving through and kept us updated the whole drive on when we arrive ect. We had plenty of times for the tours and drinks and rest stops after and peter was waiting for us afterwards. He even took us to see one of the old trains which was great. Arrived back at hotel when he said we would. 10/10 experience great day had
Auschwitz very interesting, salt mines pretty but long and return transfer terrible!
    Natalie_B, Mar 2023
Auschwitz was a very interesting and eye opening day loads of information, felt it was a little rushed as it was so busy with other groups of people. Make sure you take food. We didn't get a break untill 3pm ish and was told we could have a hour lunch then got told we could only have 40 minutes which we waited 25 mins for the food to cook at the salt mines . It is a pretty place but wouldn't get overly excited as its long winded and boring. Disappointed in the transfer as we were ment to be getting a transfer back to our hotel but because there was alot of people on our tour we transfer to a coach and the coach driver said he couldn't take us back to the hotel as the coach couldn't drive down some roads so we ended up getting dumped off in the centre and had to walk 25 mins back to hotel in the rain. Disappointed as that's not whats advertised when booking. Also never got a message the day before to confirm pick up times I had to message them.
Great tour from start to finish

    Rachel_C, Feb 2023
Seeing Auschwitz was profound very moving and very sad but glad we did it as an important part of history which we must not forget. The salt mines were amazing lots of amazing statues and interactive scenes. A long day doing it all in one but we were short on times and certainly got our steps in that day!
    Excellent day

    Venetia_S, Jan 2023
A really great trip! I originally planned to do these both of separate days but found this was much better as I got a good tour of both that felt just the right amount of time. The group was extremely well organised so there was never any standing around or waiting and enough time for breaks etc. All our guides were great aswell! I really recommend
Skip salt mines and just do Auschwitz
