Traveler Tips

Good footwear required as the roads on the camps are very rough and uneven.
It is a long day with lots of walking, but worth it!
It is a long day but as I said if you're short on time then it's the thing to do.

Informative, Heartbreaking, a real must see.
Lee_M, Oct 2023
From start to finish, a very well organised trip, full on day trip, with lots of information, by people that had great knowledge.
A must
Peterfinnemore, Oct 2023
Salt mines very interesting , tour guide good but a little bit difficult to understand sometimes but worth a visit Camps, no words can describe the sadness of this place but one which I felt needed to be visited, our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he was telling us, having spoken to survivors of this awful place. Headphones are given so although busy there is very little noise.
Great to see both when time is limited
Kim_S, Oct 2023
A great tour to see both destinations in one day when time is limited. The tour guides were both good and I found I had enough time at each destination.
Fantastic tour of the Salt mine and Auchwitz
Stephen_D, Oct 2023
We did the salt mine first followed by Auchwitz - two excellent tours - and the transfer by small coach worked well. Both guides were very good, really knew their subjects, particularly our Auchwitz guide. The trips did involve a lot of walking but this suited us. We would rate them both as must dos but Auchwitz in person is the one which as many people as possible should try. Documentaries and articles don't capture the emotional impact that rooms full of shoes, suitcases, pots, pans and human hair convey in person. The living conditions were brutal beyond belief as was the treatment. Photographs of the "healthy" inmates when first arriving contrasted starkly with the emaciated wraiths they became within weeks if "lucky" enough to survive. Seeing the model of the gas chamber and then visiting its ruins later was the most shocking thing we have ever seen. We had been hesitant about going but really glad that we did.
Long day out
Carol_H, Oct 2023
Very long day but all three sites in 1 day. Saltmine is long and alot of walking could do with being half as long but nothing that the tour could change. Auschwitz was as expected. Thought it may feel rushed but not at all. Seen everything.
excellent option to visit the salt mines and Auschwitz in a single day
Yair_J, Oct 2023
A totally recommended trip. Unlike other trips, this one begins with the Salt Mines and later Auschwitz. I think this is an excellent option since visiting the extermination camp can generate an alteration in the mood due to the emotional historical charge of the place. Our guide was a very kind person who recommended very good places to visit and explained to me many of the historical and social situations in Poland. I totally recommend this trip to anyone who wants to enjoy visiting two places in one day.
Perfect
Celine_c, Sep 2023
Lovely guide for the whole day, really good communication on WhatsApp as wasn't sure where to meet, Christophe was helpful and lovely, shame that staff at the salt mine shop was extremely rude, but nothing to do with viator or guides
Very good experience
Maurizio_M, Sep 2023
The trip was as described, Christopher contacted us the evening before with pick up times/details and Peter our driver for the day was on time, pleasant and very chatty. The tours themselves of the Salt mines and Auschwitz were given by official guides.
excellent tour in both places
Antonieta_I, Sep 2023
Travel was smooth and safe because of the good driver , thankful to have been picked up on time, excellent service. Also, we had a. ery knowledgeable tour guides in both places.Highly recommended to those who wanted to have the best service.
Very good tour, well...
Lucy_M, Sep 2023
Very good tour, well organised, brilliant tour leader in Peter. Pick up at the time we were advised. Tour guide showing us around Auschwitz-Birkenau was slightly rushed and missed bits at Auschwitz I due to time constraints, but also very busy. Salt mine brilliant. Overall trip well worth it - wear good shoes as lots of walking.
A must see when in Krakow
Rebekah_B, Sep 2023
Brilliant trip, a must see when visiting Krakow and surrounding Poland. Trip was well organised and stops along the way for toilet/smoke break which made it comfortable and helped to break up the driving. Once we got to attractions, guides were brilliant and very knowledgeable. Tour was arranged so there was a good amount of time at each of the attractions. Through the trip pickup and drop off was arranged from hotel and Peter (tour guide) met us at the hotel door which was handy. Overall a brilliant trip and would recommend.
Organised and good value
Judith_H, Sep 2023
We were pick up at 7am from our apartment. Travelling in a brand new small coach with 20 people. Extremely organised throughout the day, not rushed but efficient use of time. I would highly recommend this tour extremely good value, dropped back off 11 hours later, it really didn't feel that long we had been out. Great pack lunch aswell.
An Must do if visiting Krakow.
Lorraine_N, Sep 2023
A well conducted tour. The Transport , Tour in-charge Valarie, Driver Mario and the best and which made this tour worth its salt were the knowledgeable guides who gave us guided tour of both sites.
Not to be missed
Laura_D, Sep 2023
Auschwitz-Birkenau was the most emotionally draining day but it is an absolute must. From the beginning, emotions are high and it is hard to comprehend the scale and atrocities that happened there. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. The Salt Mines are a beautiful sight indeed but the guide could have given more time in the larger areas with lots of sculptures. Staying at the back allows for more photo opportunities however the guide starts talking whilst out of earshot. A day filled with lots of stairs and many miles of walking but definitely not to be missed.
Great tour
Gabriela_L, Sep 2023
The salt mine is super interesting and the guide(Melania) was very good prepared and so nice and smiling.Auschwitz’s was well organized, Peter was nice and did his job . The only thing I could say is not much about the staff that did a great job but is more like a suggestion: maby in the trip in the bus should be provided or share more about the culture and historical of the city .
Humbling
Kenneth_S, Sep 2023
The day was rainy so it made our whole experience even more somber. Lots of information was shared!! We found our guide difficult to hear at times, perhaps due to the rain??(or the speaker system)
The whole day was well...
Janice_D, Sep 2023
The whole day was well organized and stress free for us. Thomas was friendly, fun, and a great guide.
Long but very interesting day.
Michelle_G, Sep 2023
What a fantastic experience. Salt mines were fascinating with an experienced, funny guide. In contrast, Auschwitz and Birkenau was a moving experience. Guides were very humble and delivered the information with humility and care. Very long but interesting day.
Made the whole trip very easy and stress free, relaxing and enjoyable.
Barry_H, Sep 2023
Very precise directions and information regarding pick up, time schedule and general organisation of the whole day.
Perfectly organised day out
Denise_N, Sep 2023
Very moving at the death camps in the morning, with a well informed guide and pleasant, helpful driver. Mood lifted perfectly in the afternoon at the Salt mine as this is a truly fantastic visit. Be prepared for a lot of walking throughout both visits and over 400 stairs at the mine - not for you if you have any disability as alternatives to walking and stairs is not available. But for us overall a mind- blowing, thought provoking, moving and stunning experience. A long day but well worth the effort especially if you are on a short break as we were. We were just slightly disturbed when we had been sent info on booking telling us pick up in the morning was 8am, but text rec'd the night before saying it was 6.15am! This meant we missed breakfast at the hotel, and facilities/time for food on the trip limited. Thank goodness we ordered the packed lunch at the same time as we acknowledged the text, otherwise we would have been starving by the time we returned to the hotel at 6.30pm!! That said, it was a totally memorable and well organised experience. Thank you
