Please make sure to bring with you to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum, ID or PASSPORT, because the guards will ask about it before enter. Without it, you will not be able to enter the museum.

Easy way to book Auschwitz tour

Well organized, pick up was exactly as planned. Rest of the group went on to salt mine tour and we were seamlessly transferred to another driver to continue back to Krakow after Auschwitz. The tour did feel a bit rushed but that’s not as issue with Viator or the company who offered the tour - if we went back we would prefer to just go on our own and spend more time at the time and reflect more rather than needing to keep moving on with the guide and group.

Picked up on time at the meeting spot in a nice air-conditioned mini van. Driver was great and explained the day. Ushered through the entrance efficiently and then the tour started. I have to say it's a shame the museum let so many tours start so close together. At points you are literally stuck between the group in front and behind. Not the fault of the operator of the tour but some space would have been better to take in the place. Overall I real sombre experience that I am glad I went to witness for myself. Very upsetting seeing the camp in person and listening to what happened there.

This trip involves a pick up and drop off from your hotel, and tickets to join the official guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau. It would of course be much cheaper to book official tickets online and make your way there on public transport, but I found this easier mainly because of the language barrier. Arek, our driver, was very punctual and courteous. He pointed out sites of interest and answered questions during the drive. The only disadvantage is that they do not give you an exact pick up time until the afternoon before, when it’s too late to cancel. We had the 7am pickup slot although the range was 7 - 10 am! The tour itself did feel rushed and brief but that is not this company’s fault, the official guide does rush you through a little and I would have liked more time to absorb the information and take photos. However, it was definitely worth visiting, and I would highly recommend the experience overall.

Very moving , emotional tour with the English speaking guide very knowledgeable about the history behind the depths to which humanity had sunk at this point in time. The images of all the clothing left behind and the children’s shoes abandoned on the pretence that they would be collected later as they were taken to the gas chamber will remain with me forever. If one trip is required in our lifetime this is the one. The whole trip was a positive experience with Viator and the local driver was excellent.

The driver, Slawek, was super organised and kept us informed of where to meet and when. We were picked up at our choice of meeting point 7.30 and arrived with a bit of time to spare for 9.15 entry. The vehicle was spotless and spacious. The short film played on the drive there is a good introduction and passes the time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and adapted the tour as we went along so we weren't queuing behind other groups to get into the exhibition buildings. We were grateful for a comfortable and air conditioned ride between the camps and back to Krakow as it was 33° outside. Although the museum website says visitors should be 14 years + my 13 year old son found it to be a moving and educational visit, I'd suggest using your judgement as it is only a recommendation. Water refill points would be my only suggestion for improvement, it was a very hot day and with the bag restrictions we could only carry a small amount.

The guide was excellent and she loved her job, you could tell she was passionate about what she did. The tour was a bit rushed though….it would have been good to have some more time to look around and reflect. Overall though a good tour.
