Traveler Tips

It is quite warm down there so there’s no need to put a load of layers on , bring a drink with you as there is a lot of steps .
As it says in the literature - there's lots of walking and steps - so not for the unfit.
People should be aware a lot of walking but no inclines so easy walking and well worth it

Great Experience
Ian_C, Sep 2023
Our hotel pick up was on time and driver was great with very good humour. Tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable and again with some good humour along the way. The tour was very interesting. I would highly recommend this tour.
Transfer was early and did not wait
Catherine_L, Sep 2023
The transfer arrived early and left without us. Then declined a refund. I will never use this company again
Fantastic place and good organisation
Peter_C, Sep 2023
An amazing place to visit. We were picked up from our hotel at the time we were told and the driver made sure we were in the right place to meet our guide. Our guide was Nicholas who was excellent. He guided us with humour and knowledge and dealt well with a group who seemed to not be paying full attention to the tour .
Salt Mine with hotel transportation
Brian_A, Sep 2023
Though we were told we could get to the mines via public transportation, we chose to buy this package primarily because of the hotel pick-up and drop-off. That was a smart move given how packed and chaotic the local traffic was; moreover this group experience provided additional perks (based on a comparison with travelers who used public transport). The mine itself is a marvel to behold especially the various carvings. Our mine guide, Nicholas, was excellent.
More that a mine, more like a journey to your soul.

Tha tour guide was knowledgeable, clear, and cared about the people that were having problems. For e ample. Some people were lagging behind because of fatigue. She waited for everyone.
The expanse of the mines...
Jane_K, Sep 2023
The expanse of the mines really can only be appreciated by seeing and walking through this incredible undertaking. This afforded tremendous wealth and power to Poland
An Experience Not to be Missed
Mariewickett, Sep 2023
Well organised hotel pick up. The driver led us up to the entrance where we were introduced to our guide. Our guide was a very pleasant lady who was informative and knowledgeable. After a short wait we entered the mines.....wow they are incredible. An experience not to be missed.
Magical and breathtaking
Rachel_C, Sep 2023
The salt mines were absolutely stunning and amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to explore the area.
Amazing Salt Mines
fiona_c, Sep 2023
The tour was amazing from start to finish. To think we where 130metres below was experience it self. To see the halls and how the salt had developed in the walls and the structure of the wood was amazing. Definitely worth a visit.
Enjoyable, Busy, Lots of steps/walking, Needs better organisation
Sarah_Y, Sep 2023
We were picked up from our hotel and the drive was short and comfortable. I underestimated how many steps (luckily all down) there were and although I am fit and healthy my thighs ached for a couple of days following. The tour guide was softly spoken so unless you were close by him it was difficult to hear and easy to miss important information. This tour would have been much improved with the addition of headphones. There was a lot of walking and with our tour this was at speed. The mines were very busy and we often had to wait for one group to move before we could view something and sometimes the guides were talking over each other, which given ours was softly spoken, made it hard to hear. At the end of the tour we returned to the surface via a lift. This only takes a set number so our group was split up. We exited in a different location to the one we entered. We had been told if this happend (there are 2 exits) then to simply cross the park. However, where we exited we could not see the park. We had to walk around the building to find the map to work out the way to go. Some of our group were not good at reading a map and, if not for the help of others, would have gone in the wrong direction. This is a good tour that I do recommend (if you can handle steps and lots of walking) however I think it could be vastly improved with the use of headphones and better organisation especially with the information on the exit route as we felt "dumped". The journey back was ok but our driver "forgot" about us when dropping off and the hotel he was supposed to drop us off at. Meaning he told us to leave the bus and walk a few streets. Luckily by this point we'd been in Krakow a few days so knew where we were going.
The transfer to Salt...
Ruth_W, Sep 2023
The transfer to Salt Mines was perfect. He was very friendly and gave out information. Our Guide in the Salt mine was quiet needed to speak louder. Would have appreciated time in the town after the tour
This is a must. We could...

This is a must. We could not believe how big it was and what was contained inside. The sculptures are just amazing.
Beautiful City Krakow
Donna_R, Sep 2023
Both the salt minds and Auschwitz were definitely worth a visit. Both trips organised well with plenty of communication regards the pick ups time etc…. My only one moan would be that the Auschwitz trip needed alittle more free time between the camps and for lunch. Especially when it’s so hot. You are not allowed to eat anything in the vehicle and it’s a good hour and half from Krakow with no traffic. We also did the 2 hour buggy tour on arrival to Krakow this was excellent.. it took around Kraków old town and the Jewish town and everything in between. Gerry are driver was fantastic he went over the two hours, allowing us stops to take picture pick up a quick beer, pointing out best places to eat. He also sent a list of bars and restaurants. Very knowledgeable.
Amazing sand sculptures .
Mavis_D, Sep 2023
The skill and craftsmanship of the salt statues were amazing. On entering the building there is a wooden spiral stair case leading down to the first level 350 steps but these were easy enough to do. Tour guide then did tour and along the route we had further steps to go down further levels, comfortable enough and at your leisure. We were 140 metres down. Toilet break and coffee half way through tour. Definitely a must see if you visit krakow as only half hour journey out to them. The only downfall was we couldn't hear the tour guide very well as group at 30 people and we had no headsets on.
Worth the trip.
Yougen_P, Sep 2023
At first we were not sure about this tour but we are glad we did it. The enormity and the scarify the mine is bit overwhelming. The fact that all around you is salt, walls, floors and ceiling is unbelievable. Must see while in Krakow.

I enjoyed every second of the tour!! In my opinion it's an experience that you have to try at least once in a lifetime.
Great Tour Company
Aaron_D, Aug 2023
Great trip. Very well organised and very very helpful. Had to cancel our trip on Tuesday die to a cancelled flight but they were very helpful in ensuring we got booked on to the next available trip.
Don't miss Experience
John_B, Aug 2023
Outstanding experience. There are 800 steps all going down. A cramped elevator holding 8 persons bring you back up. You have to experience the trip to appreciate the 700 year history and all of the displays and various rooms that exist below ground.
Amazing experience
Lisa_L, Aug 2023
The tour operators were on time for hotel pickup and the transport minibus was new, clean and comfortable. The driver provided a warm welcome and smooth ride to and from the mine. The mine tour was really hood with a knowledgeable english speaking guide for our group. The mine is beautiful and most of the walk quite easy.
Great experience
Roz_F, Aug 2023
The sheer size of the caverns and tunnels, the craftsmanship of the carvings. A real one off. The guide was so informative and really made the visit so enjoyable.
