Max was amazing! So...
Michael_G, Mar 2023
Max was amazing! So helpful and encouraging and an excellent tour guide showing me all of the special views around Lake Como. The ebike made the trip so much fun! Highly recommend this experience.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Thanks so much!!!
Excellent way to see Lake Como!
Aimee_S, Nov 2022
Loved doing this tour to see the beautiful sights around Lake Como. It was so fun and a perfect way to get around. While I do highly recommend doing this tour, the tour company needs to provide information about what you are seeing along the way (i.e., history of places, who lives where, what things are). The E-bikes are easy to use and it was a fun experience.
Overpriced, not as described!
Jeff_C, Oct 2022
This Tour is not as described. Whilst it was an enjoyable bike ride from Lake Como into the hills there was no visit to a vineyard, in fact I don't even recall seeing one but I did have to concentrate on the cycling as it was a fast pace. The 'Swiss border' is a street without any noticeable border definition. The guide was really nice, helpful and tried hard to make the tour enjoyable and the bikes were good, the fault lies with Viator and their description. It is way overpriced and we felt ripped off. I have tried to contact Customer Services to report our dissatisfaction but my e-mails bounced back! We have used Viator before, and even later on the same holiday, and always enjoyed our tours with them but I would not recommend this one unless you want a very fast paced 3 hour cycle.
Response from Host, Oct 2022
Dear Sir, you’re posting in the wrong place since our ride constantly goes to Swiss vineyards as proven by so many pictures posted in TripAdvisor/Viator by happy guests visiting us daily. The pace is at at sightseeing speed, kept within 10 miles/hour when riding and with several stops to take picture at landscape including the ones in vineyards. I’m not commenting about cost cause you surely have been experiencing something different from what we offer. Furthermore, if your concern is with Viator, I don’t see the reason to write fake information to the profile of a business that constantly works hard to deliver nice experiences with success. Kindly remove your review because it does not match with the experience we offer. Best regards.
Disappointing Day!
Sally_S, Oct 2022
First of all, I think the paragraph describing this experience doesn’t match up with the actual ride. Mostly we were biking on busy streets, and as for the tour of Swiss Vineyards, we stopped at the end of a driveway and saw some grapevines. We did not stop to tour the vineyards at all. Also our guide Max was borderline hostile, which began before we ever got started. He was irritated when we asked him how the gears worked even though within our group of 5 there were three different bike models. One couple in our group wanted to leave early, so he left 6 of us at a coffee shop for 45 minutes. The almost constant traffic and impatient guide made for a disappointing experience.
Response from Host, Oct 2022
Dear Sally, Sorry to hear you did not have a good day. Yes your guide had to bring back a couple because one of them, 75yo not respecting conditions necessary to ride (health status and age) showed breathing insufficiency after an easy climb. That was probably the biggest problem. We always do a coffee stop at that point to socialize, refill water and use restroom as there it’s halfway. Your guide took chance to bring back the other two to preserve their health and safety. That took around 30 minutes so 10-15 minutes more than our usual stop at the café, nevertheless you were comfortably seated at the table, not left on the road of course. We then must disagree with your statement about busy roads and constant traffic and the ride is held initially on a bike lane to Cernobbio town and secluded roads later to Moltrasio town and Switzerland. It is normal to cross some cars as we obviously cannot block the whole town because of the ride. We stopped for around 10 minutes by the vineyard right after crossing the Swiss border and talked about the local wine production. You could walk in it if you wished but it rained the night before and you would have got mud in your shoes. Regarding bikes you were given full explanation before start. We are sorry to hear your words and we are sorry if the sense of worry of your guide was interpreted as hostile. Best regards.
Recommend this Ride for Confident Bike Riders!
Nicole_J, Oct 2022
We had such a great time with Max! He was friendly, sociable, and provided some local-knowledge commentary throughout our ride. My husband and I both do a bit of mountain biking and some of the climbs on this ride felt like they would have been a real challenge without the e-bike assistance. We rode on paved paths and some streets, but it never felt over crowded or like too much traffic. The crossover into Switzerland is brief and to be clear, you ride past several vineyards without stopping at a winery. The scenery is gorgeous and this bike tour is an excellent alternative to walking around for sightseeing. I would absolutely recommend the experience to anyone who enjoys bike riding and feels comfortable and confident on a bike and is ready to sweat at least a little!
Our first e-bike tour
Donna_F, Oct 2022
The best tour! It’s been three months and hubs and I still agree best thing we did on this trip in Italy.
Hard mountain ride
JERRY_B, Oct 2022
Guide was ahead of group by over 500 feet. Hills were very steep and was requiring a much more experienced rider. Guide was very arrogant and any issues were the riders faults. Nothing in description said this was a demanding for ebike riders used to a leisurely pace. This trip should have been listed for experienced mountain bikers, not easy going ebike riders. Overall not a pleasant trip.
Response from Host, Oct 2022
Dear sir, we offer a sporty activity for active people. It is clearly stated that this ride is about 20 miles long with 1500 feet elevation gain with e-bikes that make climbing effortless. Sorry but a hard ride is a total different thing! At the end of a mild 7% grade short climb of less that one mile you showed clear breathing insufficiency. Your guide, for your safety and to preserve your health, had to bring you back to the starting point because you were not in the condition to ride a second uphill. This represented a problem for other guests taking part the tour that day. You did not respect necessary conditions to take part to the ride: 1- being in a good health condition with no issues. 2- having a moderate fitness level. 3- age limit of 65yo: at one point you said you are 75yo instead. We are sorry to hear you did not have good time but, with all the respect, this type of activity is not for you, you could have read conditions and description more carefully and also ask for more information before booking, we’re always happy to help and give more details but it cannot be our fault if you overestimate your physical condition by far. Kind regards.
Great e-bike your
Amy_F, Oct 2022
Max was a great tour guide. He gave good instruction and made sure we were safe. It was fun to see Italy from a different perspective and see the countryside at the same time. I would definitely do this again.
Beautiful Ride
Carole_T, Oct 2022
Great way to sightsee, get fresh air all while getting in a little fitness! Our tour guide was aware of various levels & slowed it down every now & again for those that needed more time to catch up but it didn’t take away from my wonderful experience ! Very worthwhile!!
Ebike tour
Jennifer_C, Sep 2022
We had such a great time! The ebikes were easy to use! The scenery was gorgeous! Our guide was extremely nice! It was a great experience!
Too Expensive for the Experience
Bevlyn_D, Aug 2022
This trip was guided in a sense that a guide took you up into some towns near Como. This is not an informational tour. I would have rated higher had the price been more reasonable. The villages were nice , but we only made three stops and they were not memorable. A closed vineyard, an unkempt garden and a bar to buy water. If you just want to ride an ebike for three hours, it may work for you, but the price was not commensurate to the experience.
Response from Host, Aug 2022
Sorry but our prices are in line with Lake Como lifestyle... We make at least 5 stops (not 3) and break at a bar is planned to let you refill water for the rest of the ride. During stops and along the ride, we try our best to transfer information for example about Volta lighthouse, Moltrasio stones, notions whilst in the vineyard and other topics about the surroundings in general. The experience is an e-bike ride for who wish to pedal in a leisure way through Lake Como landscapes discovering secluded spots they could not find otherwise. “Valley Garden” is not unkept: as we tried to explain you, this season is incommensurabile dry and trees are struggling to cope with the lack of water in order stay alive… Thanks for you comment anyway! Kind regards.
Super fun day trip
Charlie_C, Jul 2022
This was a great experience - full of off the tourist-map points of interest. Max was great, took time to explain the e-bike, kept it at a pace for our group and shared his expert knowledge throughout. He was fun, full of local wisdom and willing to share points of interest in Como for our post trip enjoyment. Our family were not bike riders, and Max made it easy.
Good trip, lacked organization/connection
Shannon_C, Jun 2022
This trip could have been good if there was more introduction (safety and otherwise). In addition, the stops weren’t explained well and we had no idea where we were half the time. It’s hard pressed to be called a trip to the Swiss vineyards as it was an afterthought. Having said that I truly liked the ride. The bikes were good and the guides were friendly. With some introductions, an overview at the beginning and some safety instructions for all involved could have made this an amazing experience
Response from Host, Jun 2022
Dear Shannon, we have to disagree with your points because: 1- before starting you were clearly explained how to use an Ebike since it was you never tried one before. 2- right after starting we made as usual the briefing by the Lake clearly pointing geographically each town we would be crossing and the way to Switzerland. 3- we did stops every 15-20 minutes and gave each time clear explanations about: Cernobbio square, Moltrasio village and S.Agata church, Cam waterfall, Valley Garden, extensive notions in the Swiss vineyard and in general updated information about the route at all time. Swiss vineyards are part of ride but not the only thing! We initially focus on landscapes over Lake Como and its villages as the experience title says; it’s a well balanced mix between the three topics. Regarding safety instructions we don’t understand your point too as you were clearly explained to ride in a single line, having care of pedestrians on shared cycling lanes and in general just follow instructions given by your guides who had flawless care of your safety at all time. Saying this, we will keep your considerations in count to be even more specific. Kind regards, CBT
A fun way to experience the beauty of Como
Shelby_H, May 2022
We loved the bike tour! It was a fun way to really get to see the beauty of the Como region! Max was a great guide and made it experience a really fun and safe experience (even when riding next to cars). The motors on that bike are a gamechanger and really helped on steep inclines. I will say the vineyard piece is a little bit of a stretch; I thought we would get to spend time, and have a glass of wine at the vineyards but really it is a quick stop and photo-op- thoroughly enjoyed it none-the-less!
Response from Host, Jun 2022
Hi Shelby, thanks very much for your smart suggestion! I would really love to offer the chance to include a wine tasting in the Swiss section of the ride, and I’m already working in that sense; nevertheless, winemakers in Switzerland are not yet into the spirit of tastings but I’m already in touch with tourism administration in the area to bring things up to a next level!
We don’t recommend this bike tour
naama_b, May 2022
Max was nice and came on time, however the places we went to were basic and by far not comparable to many other bike tours we took. Also there almost no explanations. Not worth the money.
Response from Host, May 2022
Sorry to hear that but it is a bit confusing because at the end of the trip you said the ride was nice. If you had any comment or special request you could also ask it during the ride but you did not. This itinerary is kept easy, yet by stunning landscapes and points of interest to make it feasible also for casual bikers; maybe you were looking for a more difficult ride (we have that too). Explanations were given to you regarding Moltrasio village, the Cam Waterfall, The Valley Garden in Cernobbio and in the vineyards in Switzerland. I’m sad you didn’t appreciate Lake views in Como.
Ebike your for advanced riders
Bonnie_J, May 2022
Our guide was a very experienced bike rider and we felt it was a bit advanced for occasional riders like us. We also had never rode an Ebike and actually I had a head on collision with a wall ( speed was set too high and unable to turn the bike… thankfully had helmet on). We rode on streets and sidewalks which made us a bit nervous. We never made it to Switzerland ☹️ I would recommend this tour to advance riders!!
Response from Host, May 2022
Dear Bonnie, the problem is you both have almost no confidence riding a bike even in a leisure way unfortunately so, if you never cycle, I’m wondering why you booked a bike tour: there are many other things to do in Lake Como. This itinerary is easy to moderate and Ebikes make climbing effortless. It is not required to be athletes at all but it is required to know how to ride a bike. The itinerary is on cycling lane and secondary roads, where else would you ride a bike? I am a professional bike guide, of course I look and dress like a cyclist… The average speed of your ride was 5 miles per hour (so likely walking speed). I adapted it to your skills in order to keep you safe. You touched the wall 3 meters after resuming the ride after one of the stops for pictures: it’s not the fault of the bike if you didn’t steer the handlebar neither mine. You didn’t made it to Switzerland because you spontaneously chose to abort the ride after the walk in the Valley Garden. Luckily that day the tour was private for you two only otherwise it would have been a problem for other guests experience.
Great way to spend day!!!

Awesome Activity!!!
Danielle_H, Mar 2022
I highly recommend this tour!!! It was such a great way to see the city. It was so much fun and my favorite activity while in Lake Como. The tour guide Max is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure I had the best time.

Thanks a lot for your nice words! It was a pleasure riding with you!!
Top mixture of sightseeing and a bit of exercise
Mooska_R, Jan 2022
Seeing the Lake Como region on an eBike with an experienced guide is probably the best things I’ve done in Italy. I strong recommend this experience.
Response from Host, Jan 2022
Thanks very much Mooska! I’m so glad you liked the ride
