We booked the helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon with 5 star Helicopters. We were lucky enough to have Mad Dog Mike as our pilot - he made the whole experience fantastic - he shared with us his incredible knowledge of the history of the canyon and kept us entertained throughout the flight. He was a fantastic pilot and took us in touching distance of the canyon walls to see it in its true splendour. The memory of this trip will live with us forever. This was and extended trip but not sure what the extended bit was. Also the pre recorded information over the headset kept cutting out so unable to learn the history adequately. Finally, there were light refreshments included which was a can of coke or alternative.

Pick up was arranged for 7am. Received several (missed calls from the pick up driver), followed by an angry text at 6:40am, scolding me for not being there as he had another pick up to do. After all the rushing was left waiting for approximately an hour when we arrived. Ground crew were aggressive about getting us to pose for a photo we didn’t want. Pilot was lovely but sound was poor on the helicopter so found it hard to engage. Overall the views weren’t fantastic, although that wasn’t the pilots fault.
