What To Expect

This tour offers ample exploration time at the Hoover Dam. Take part in the Government-guided Discovery Tour where you'll walk through original tunnels, see the huge generators and have amazing scenery from the penstock viewing platform. After the interior tour, visit the exhibit gallery and visitor center.

Also included are stops at the Lake Mead Lookout and capture incredible photos from the Pat Tillman Bridge overlooking the Hoover Dam.

You'll also make a brief stop for photographs at the iconic Welcome to Las Vegas sign.

the tour itself at the Dam was very good, but the pick up at motels along the strip takes 2hours, so in fact you have to be ready up to 2hours before the actual tour which is NOT clearly explained when you book the tour. Furthermore, expansive prescription sunglasses were lost in the bus driving back, and our email to greyhound was not even acknowledged. So satisfaction with the bus company is very low.

I would never use this company again. I re-confirmed our trip to the hoover dam with them via WhatsApp and they confirmed a pick up time of 10am at our hotel. The driver never showed and it turns out the pick up time was 8.30am! Put us on a tour the following day and had the cheek to charge us another $30 for the privilege of their mistake. Never shaib

We got to the Hoover Dam from Las Vegas a little later than anticipated as our tour bus was a little late due to bad traffic problems that day, but Kim was an absolute pro at making up lost time. We truly enjoyed the guided tours on site and the little museum. The sad part of the tour was learning how low the water level is and how much this part of the country relies on Lake Mead for water supply. It was a hot day, and I would recommend to other visitors to maybe visit earlier than May or later than September. My kids have waited decades for this tour so they could say things like, "Where are the Dam restrooms?" and "I bought some Dam souvenirs!"

They cancelled trip last minute. Not many options. All our time was booked so we couldn’t change the date. Very disappointing. They said it was a maintenance issue. Not sure what that meant. I’m sure they have more then one van. We booked months in advance to make sure we made this trip. So mad. Would not recommend this company. Still waiting on refund.😡

Viator and the bus driver had different pick up times and we missed our scheduled tour. Thankfully we were available the following morning and there were spots on the tour for us, so we were able to take the Hoover Dam tour the next day. Once we got on tour we enjoyed it.

I mostly enjoyed the tour of Hoover Dam by the Bureau of Reclamation. It gave an overview of the dam construction and took us inside to view the generator area, All in all, the aviator tour was a great experience.

This tour covered all the bases for exploring and visiting the Hoover Dan , plenty of stops and great views. Kim our bus driver was excellent very informative and gave us regular updates along the way - only note is that the tour says 10am but our pick up was 8.35am lucky we confirmed timing .. would recommend

This trip took 6 hours from pick up to drop off. Not what we had planned. The driver never stopped talking, and not about the dam. Rattled on about all his accomplishments and his wife and life history. The dam was amazing. I should have just driven there myself.

Was instructed to be at the designated pick up point at 8:30. Driver arrived at 9 am. View and points of interest were spectacular as promised. Power plant was closed, understandable, but there was no attempt to have a plan B. The movie in the Visitors Center might have compensated, but our ticket did not give us admittance. What we paid for was not much more than a bus ride to the dam, where we were left on our own. Was not worth the money.

What did we pay for? We got there and back but only really got a $15 tour fee for $73 a person for 4 when we had a car…. It was a ripoff. They didn’t even give us water like Viator proclaimed. It was a mess, it was advertised as a 10am but only had in fine print that you needed to give your address for pickup at 8:30. The driver was loud, obnoxious and didn’t understand how to use a microphone. He also gave a lot of wrong info from the strat being shorter than the space needle to the wages the workers on the dam were paid. It was an awful trip, rent a car and read Wikipedia instead.

Great experience, only thing is when they tell you to meet up 15 mins early, don’t rush. They come 15 mins late for pick up . Going and coming back . Wear comfy shoes and a hat .

Good tour and helpful tour guide. Extra stops to take photos were appreciated. The guide provided lots of interesting information during the tour.

The tour was very good! However, Tour operator, Greyline, was 35 mins late picking us up & didn’t communicate pu location effectively.

You won't get what you think you are paying for.

Not happy that I did not get the full experience that I thought I would get in this trip. Asked for a 50% refund and was credited $10. Will not use Viator ever again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Dear Tracey_L, Thank you for having chosen Gray Line and we are sorry for missing your expectations. Regarding the Visitor Center and the Power Plant tour, these are provided by the Bureau of Reclamation, US Department of the Interior and while they maintain the site to the highest levels, however on rare occasions they can experience maintenance with elevators that the power plant tour depends upon. For this reason, they are not operating power plant tours at full capacity, and unfortunately did not let us purchase power plant tickets because it is first come first serve. The operators at the Hoover Dam have informed us that uncertainty regarding their visitor operations will continue for the next week or two, yet after that their visitor operations should return to normal which will allow us to resume providing the quality Hoover Dam excursions that we have undertaken for more than 40 years.
