I went into it knowing it cost significantly less than most of the tours but I still was just miserable. The tour guide left someone in Florence and then he and the driver spent the drive from Florence to pisa just cussing and yelling about the situation. The bus stopped forever away from anything and we had to walk really far to get to the bus. At the end the guide spent ten minutes trying to get us to follow his YouTube channel. It was annoying. It was fine for the $$ I suppose but next time I will do it with a private guide.

Sarah our tour guide was awesome. We joined this tour from La Spezia cruise port. It took us 2.5 hours to get to Florence on the bus with everybody, and we had 3 hours to shop and explore Florence. After that we all went to Pisa which was about an hour from Florence. That was a bit rushed but we had about an hour there and then headed back to the cruise port which was an hour from there. It was a lot of driving but it was worth it as it was an adorable way to have a bus transfer to Florence from the port and we were able to learn along the way with the tour guide.

Horrible and disorganized

Terrible experience. We walked in the rain to city center to meet our tour bus. We arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule and were told to board the bus that was already COMPLETELY FULL. Not one seat available, and there were 4 of us, plus several others that were still arriving. Total disorganization. We and several others ended up standing in the pouring rain for another 40 minutes waiting for a second bus to come. Off to a horrible start. We bought the guided walking tour of Florence, only to be told several times by the guide that she is ‘not our guide, she is just showing us where some things are’ she could not/would not answer any questions about anything. The worst experience we have ever had with a tour.

Alessandro was so thorough in providing a map of Florence as well as walking time estimates from the bus stop to the Duomo…etc. very helpful as we had a quick 3.5 hours on our own. It was our second time to Florence, so perfect for us to enjoy a walk to the Duomo, lunch, a few leather shops and the gardens.

If you need a quick, convenient way to get from Livorno port to Florence, I’d highly recommend this excursion. Simple, comfortable, and affordable. To my surprise and pleasure, they even worked with NCL to make sure they knew fully when we needed to be back to the port!

While the bus driver was good - the guide was adequate, at best. I, along with a number of other guests, had a really difficult time finding our way back to the bus. Specific walking directions from the Station should be given. Also, because of her decision to delay the departure time from FLorence, a number of us were stressed by the fact that making our ship departure could be very iffy.

Our group was large, so we had two men assigned as guides. The first one took off with the group while the second, Frederick, waited for us because we wanted a bathroom break after the 2+ hours on the bus. He was knowledgeable and didn't rush us, so that part was excellent However, the crowds in Florence were massive, which is not the tour's fault. But, we couldn't really experience Florence or go inside much of anything. Also, for those with back problems, be aware that the bus taking us to Florence was old and the ride was very bumpy. The ride back was better -- a bus in better condition. I was told doing this tour on a Monday or Tuesday may be a better experience because crowds tend to be somewhat smaller.

Cruise Shore Excursion to Florence

Bus picked us up and dropped us off at Cruise port, which was great. Ride to Florence went well, with guide providing interesting bits of info. Once in Florence, we were expecting a walking tour of Florence for an hour or so, then on our own until bus back to port. Tour guide showed us where major attractions were, but gave precious little inforation about what we were seeing. She provide time for photos. We'd been to Florence before, so after second stop on walking tour, we went on our own. Although the walking tour would have been a disappointmemt for first time visitors to Florence, the ride to/from port and time in Florence made this a good shore exursion from the ship.

It was just a transfer, and they got us to and from Florence without issue. We chose to walk to the Basilica of Santa Croce, which was not crowded and were amazed by all the famous Italians buried there.

Our guide was outstanding and the mini van had good air conditioning. We enjoyed our trip every much. Just remember to get on the first tender if your on a ship! Ez was our favorite, but it’s a steep hike to the top, best to be in good shape for all the stairs.

Guide bailed on us

A rude woman took the bus, she had 3 pieces of luggage. Our kind but not logical guide called her a taxi then STAYED with her sending us (about30) in ahead. She finally walked that woman to where we were waiting and delayed things soo much that we entirely missed the walking tour we were soo looking forward too. All our time was eaten up with her bad decision and we did not get what we paid for

No frills transportation

This is a no frills transportation only bus ride from Livorno cruise terminal to Florence. You are dropped off in a remote area which is a 10 minute walk to the train station. They push hop on/off bus tour which we took because we had no clue where we were. Since the best part of Florence is pedestrian, the bus tour drives you all around the city but can not drive you into it. I’d recommend hiring a driver, at least in Florence, to at least get you into parts of town to see sights without a huge amount of walking. If you just want to get into Florence from Livorno and that’s it, I’d recommend.
