Great transportation & use of time in Livorno port

This is an excellent way to visit both cities in one day, which is usually all the time people on a cruise have. Sara was very helpful & a great communicator about what to see & do - and how to get back to the bus on time. George was a great driver - and there was a lot of time on the bus because of the distance between the port & each city.

Great way to see both places in a day, for a fraction of the cost of a ship organised trip. It is a long day so take snacks and drinks (though water is only 1 euro a 330ml bottle on board) and they returned us directly to the ship at the end, which was fab. Reps were waiting at drop off place for pick up and clearly labelled. At Florence there was a walking tour but we got the hop on/off bus at the station which we were taken too when leaving the coach (about 25Euro pp but well worth it, esp the elevated view).

The day started with no one at the meet up stop at the departure time. Followed by two guides screaming profanities at me then laughing about it saying ‘no refunds’. Our 6 1/2 tour left 1 1/2 hours late. I’ve been traveling for 3 months and it was the rudest tour I’ve ever experienced. Horrible!

Great FULL day excursion! Be prepared to walk! Our cruise line dropped us right off at the Tour Bus pickup. Comfortable bus with a very helpful guide. Beautiful views o the countryside on the way to and from Florence. (The teens slept.) Once we arrived in Florence we had a few hours to explore. It was a brisk 15 minute walk to the Accademia Gallery, where we had skip the line tickets to see the Michelangelo's David. Spectacular! We had just enough time for lunch, and a tiny bit of shopping before having to return with a 15 minute walk back to the bus. Then off to Pisa, where there was another 15 minute walk to get to the tower. The walk wasn't bad. But be prepared for the locals to try to sell you trinkets non-stop. It started raining se we bought the cheap umbrellas from the locals which they were selling, and once opened, we noticed they were all stained. But they worked, so that was fine. Recommend bring your own umbrellas. There really isn't much to do in Pisa, but get your iconic shot. Go directly to the tower for your picture. It's worth it. You most likely will not come back. Another 15 minute walk back to the bus. Then a quick trip to our ship. The bus was gracious enough to return us all right to our ship with 30 minutes to spare.

This tour was an incredible value for us when booking outside of our cruise line. Our Livorno stop had a shuttle bus available just outside the ship that took us directly to the meeting point for this tour. On our tour, we got to see a good chunk of Florence and Pisa. In Florence, our guide offered an extra optional walking tour that was €5, and it was worth every penny. He showed us the many different items that were around to explore and gave us quite the historical background to the places we visited. I’d recommend this tour to anyone going to Livorno on a cruise.

Guides need to be more truthful

Prior to arriving in Florence our guide mentioned the walking tour for €5, we asked if it was wheelchair accessible, he replied yes. After a few minutes it was clear it was impossible to do in a wheel chair. The pace was ridiculous and he kept weaving in traffic and dropping off curbs. At this point we dropped out. When a family member told him we'd left he replied 'I didn't think they be able to do it'. I'm very unhappy that we had to put my mum through this distress and embarrassment of trying to do this tour when the guide new it wasn't possible! He should have just said this from the start. We had way too much time in Pisa, 1.5 hours is far too long when there is very little to do there.

It was very chaotic the way you handle your tour. You had no structure on how to line up people for their tours. You had different people yelling to move to a location , then someone else would yell to move to different location. Everyone was everywhere and no one knew where to lineup. Very poor handling.

Walking Tour is a not true

We bought the package of transfer plus walking tour but, in the bus, the guide did know that we paid the transfer. In fact, he was offering an informal tour for a tip. When we reached him and told him that we expect the paid walking tour, he said “join me”. However, he focused on the people that did pay to ensure his tip.
