What To Expect

Make your way to The O2, located near the North Greenwich Station tube stop, and find the Up the O2 Basecamp.

Meet your experienced climbing guide and group of fellow thrill seekers. Listen to a safety briefing and orientation to the 170-foot (52-meter) structure that is home to a variety of restaurants and entertainment options, and is the world's busiest music venue. Get fitted for a climb suit, boots, harness, and latch.

After the briefing, latch into the safety system and begin the steep ascent, which reaches up to 30 degrees. Make it to the top of the dome for 360-degree views over London, including both the north and south of the winding River Thames. See the historic grounds of Greenwich, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf. You're not done yet; the descent is part of the thrill.

Your experience ends safely back at the base camp.

The whole thing! Climbing up was great, and our guide, Mel was very engaging and had a great personality for the job. I had been struggling with the gigantic group of screaming teenagers and children out in the courtyard. (Sound sensitivity) To deal with that kind of thing is my problem. She could see that I was having some issues, but was very respectful and calming, even though she had no idea what my actual challenge was. Way to go Mel! Both my husband, Alan, and I loved it. He was the lead on the other side. Great experience!

A very well organised event. The climb is steep along a rubber walkway so guests need to be quite fit. We went when it was raining so quite slippery but good fun

This activity was very well run as well as fun. It’s very windy and was a bit cold but the operators offer you a coat and gloves if desired. Safety is obviously taken seriously yet it didn’t feel burdensome. The guides were friendly, helpful and informative. I would definitely recommend.

Our guide Joe from Wales is what made the experience a 5. He was friendly and made sure he talked to all the guests. He explained all the views and was all about safety. The climb itself was a 3.5 Fun to do but a short distance. We were expecting a little more exertion from it.

Took the children on a mini break to London. This was part of the break. They loved it. Shame it was wet and cold once at the top but we were glad to borrow the 02 coats offered. Shoes could be replaced too but that's a minor issue. Ruby the guide was fantastic. Knew alot about the surroundings and made us feel safe. Had to go down backwards, as was so wet but didn't ruin the climb. Fun had by all. Even the man who couldn't look down on the way up seemed to enjoy it.
