A huge waste of time and money

The experience was terrible. Nobody replying to the customer service number, nothing happening when trying to connect to Zoom. Both my guests and I wasted 40 minutes in the waiting room. And on top of that I got no answer to the emails asking for help. I am very very disatisfied.

I was unable to sign in to join the tour because I needed a password For meeting which wasn’t sent and we tried to call and email and never got a response back. The Zoom meeting kept saying “waiting for operator to start meeting” but nobody contacted me and I was never given a green light to join meeting. We reached out to try to get a voucher to try this again (as I really wanted to do it), but nobody has reached out.

Misleading "tour" description

The description of the "tour" on the viator webpage is misleading from my point of view. From the description, I expected that someone with a cam and a microphone would really walk through Whitechapel (London) like a tour guide and the audience could watch him in the streets of London from home via PC or tablet. Instead, the "tour guide" was sitting at home in front of his PC and showed a PowerPoint-like presentation about Jack the Ripper. It was certainly entertaining, but as I said, totally not what I had expected when I had read the description of the "virtual tour".

Unclear Time Zone

We didn’t realize the tour was not done in EST but rather, UK time, so we missed the experience. We did not see this until we went to claim our ticket on the day off our tour. We didn’t receive a clairifying email indicating the time, prior to the time of the tour.

Anna was a wonderful tour guide. She was quite knowledgable. I think the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I wasn't there in person. I enjoyed all the pictures and history, I just wanted more of being on the street in person. Tough balance.

Unfortunate mistake

Unfortunately, we were given the wrong Zoom link and ended up at the tail end of a tour on a different subject. Several e-mails (no response) and a phone call later, we were given the correct link but couldn't get into the tour because it had already started. We were told that we would be offered another opportunity for the tour and are currently waiting for contact from the host.

What experience? I tried unsuccessfully twice to connect via zoom and never was able to take the tour. Ah, but they charged for it!! I am still waiting for a response to my claim.

I had a terrible experience...in fact no experience at all as I could not access the link. I got on to the link and it said that it would start soon, wait for the host. That never happened. The message didn't change and the host never appeared. I waited for over two hours. My daughter had had a great experience and recommended it to me. I am so sorry that I couldn't get the same experience that she had.

Jack was an outstanding guide who was both entertaining and informative. I learned a great deal about the Ripper murders and the parade of suspects that have emerged over the years. I would highly recommend this tour to other 'Ripperologists'
