Very Unreliable Service

This was a terrible experience. The vehicle and driver never came to get us, but fortunately the hotel manager got us a private car. According to the directions from the vendor, we were to be available for pick-up in the lobby 4.5 hours prior to international flight. I called their number after waiting for 15 minutes in lobby and was on hold for 20 minutes without getting a response, I gave up. The hotel manager at that point had already called for a taxi. The service then called saying the driver was in the lobby waiting for us! Interestingly, I was also in the lobby with my family with the hotel manager. The person on the call gave me a cell number to call that I and the hotel manager wrote down. We both called and got no answer. At this point, I needed to get to airport. So, I got my family in the taxi. We barely made the flight. After complaining I got this message from service, "Please note no show has been reported." Use at your own risk!

There was no communication, no verification from the driver. I had to make numerous phone calls the night before pickup with no response. Finally called the Viator number and was on the phone for 20 minutes to finally get confirmation a driver would be there at 3:30am for the hotel to airport pickup. We waited in the lobby and finally at 3:40 the driver showed up and it was just an UBER driver? I could have booked that? And it would have been $50 cheaper? The driver watched as my wife and I loaded our luggage into his trunk. And at the airport he watched us unload our luggage. This will probably be my last time booking with Viator, it would have been less and I would have had better results doing it myself.

Good Choice for Affordable Airport Transfer

My driver was great! He was early to pick me up from my hotel, very kind, and got me to the airport with no issues. However, when I was booking I was charged an additional amount since I was outside of the charging rate zone. This was a little frustrating since I was getting picked up in a London neighborhood and wish this was made more clear at time of booking for transparency. Also, no one confirmed the time that I was to be picked up until I called to confirm which was frustrating. Overall, the experience was good and I would book with them again.

Our driver was early and very interesting to talk to on the long and traffic filled ride to Heathrow. But chatting with him made it seem to go more quickly. I wish I had caught his name! Probably could have taken the train for less money but we were lazy and had bags and this worked well for us.

I wouldn’t recommend this service AT ALL, either coming or going. The driver from the airport to the hotel was late getting there. We had to walk up/down the row of waiting drivers for about 15-20 minutes until I finally spotted him — he had apparently just arrived. Not a great way to start our trip. Our plane was on time, and he offered no explanation or apology for being late. And then the return trip — the instructions said pickup would be in the lobby of the hotel 3 1/2 hours prior to departure. Our flight was scheduled for 10:35 — making our pickup at 7 a.m. We were in the lobby at 6:50; no driver. Apparently, as I later found out via a voicemail message he’d left, pickup time was 6:30. I received no update — no text or email confirming the pickup or time or anything, just the irritated VM message from the driver. So I had to pay $120 for Uber to get us to the airport. I will attempt to get a refund but highly doubt it will happen. Lesson learned. Uber will be the way to go next time for sure.
