What To Expect

Start your day trip near the main train station in central Lucerne, where you’ll meet your guide aboard the coach for the drive to Lauterbrunnen. The scenic journey winds below the impressive mountain peaks of the Bernese Oberland en route to your destination in the UNESCO-listed wilderness of Switzerland’s Bernese Alps.

On arrival at Lauterbrunnen, your guide accompanies you on a 100-minute cogwheel train ride to Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest-altitude railway station sitting 11,333 feet above sea level. Along the way, travel through the breathtaking mountain pass of Kleine Scheidegg, situated beneath the famous Eiger North Face.

Disembark at the Top of Europe and head to the Alpine Sensation — a round-tour subway opened to mark the centenary of the Jungfrau Railway. This latest attraction links the Ice Palace and Sphinx Observatory, where you can soak up panoramic views over Aletsch Glacier, Europe's longest glacier. On a clear day, look as far as the snow-capped peaks of France and Italy.

If you wish, purchase a snack or a warm drink at the on-site restaurant (own expense) before the cogwheel train ride to ‘Eigergletscher’, where you will change to the V-Cableway Eiger Express. After approx. 15 minutes you will reach Grindelwald Terminal, where your coach awaits. Then hop aboard your coach for the return drive to central Lucerne where your tour concludes in the evening.

Meet your guide and hop aboard your air-conditioned coach in central Lucerne near the train station, and head out of the city on a scenic tour into the magnificent mountain world of the Bernese Oberland.

Interlaken

In Interlaken you will have some limited time before boarding the coach for a short drive to Lauterbrunnen.

A nice trip that had room for improvement

The experience to Jungfrau was amazing, we managed to capture nice shots at Jungfrau. However the stop at Interlaken was almost rushed, it almost felt like a toilet stop than an actual site to visit. We had a very small group with us but the unfortunate thing was our guide didn't speak English fluently and the accent he had made it quite challenging for us to comprehend what was said and this made the trip a tad frustrating as we weren't able to get what was being shared. There were toilet stops that he claimed was not available due to the rush in getting us up Jungfrau but I noticed there were available. But the guide was great and quick at ensuring we all got great photo shots whilst on the way up to the peak of Jungfrau on the cogwheel.

Weather was perfect. Views stunning. Transport was excellent. No eating or drinking on bus! That was a bit strange! Might want to think about changing that or telling potential customers. Crowds! But the tour staff organized the trip well. We really enjoyed the entire day.

It was all memorable! Our guide, Kid, was great! At first he seemed like a drill sgt. - “sit here”, “stand here”, “hurry, hurry”. I soon realized that he just wanted us to experience the trip to the fullest. He was constantly taking pictures for us and of us. He was pleasantly flamboyant!

Horrible experience due to the guide Mr Kid. He never cared for us. He had few favourites like Mike, Natalie, Sandra. For everything they are only important. He ignored us completely. He organised the photo session in the train going up. But he never asked to come for that.

I’d give it a 4.5 if it was possible, because everyone should do this trip! It was amazing! I loved the ice palace and going up to the flag even if it was windy and sleeting and snowing. The bus was late getting us from Lucerne and so we literally had 12 minutes in Interlaken. The guide was very knowledgeable and the best at making sure you get great photos. He was kind of hard to understand due to his accent. I did really appreciated him watching out for me since was traveling solo. I thought I was being silly by bringing my ice attachments for my shoes and big coat, but not silly at all. I wish I’d brought my skiing gloves!

Day Trip to the Top of Europe

An incredible trip to the top of Europe. The scenery was beautiful beyond belief. The entire journey from pickup to drop off went flawlessly and the benefits of being part of a group meant skipping the lines and waiting. Our guide Kid was awesome and kicked an absolutely amazing trip up a notch. When I booked I thought it was a little pricey however after experiencing it I feel that it was good value for the money. Highly recommended.

This was an excellent day out and an absolute highlight of our trip! Our tour guide was Kid and he was amazing, an eccentric guy who is very good at his job and takes photos for you as he knows all the good places to take them. Worth the price you pay in my opinion. We also had great people on our tour, a range of ages and backgrounds and it was lovely to get to chat to everyone.
