What To Expect

Board your coach in central Lucerne for the scenic journey south to Engelberg, departing in the afternoon. On arrival at this picturesque resort town situated in a valley below Mt Titlis, your guide accompanies you inside the aerial cableway for a 45-minute ride to the glacier’s 10,000-foot (3,020-meter) summit.

Take in dramatic views of the snowy Bernese Alps through panoramic windows, then disembark at the mountaintop for roughly two hours of free time. Perhaps start with a visit to Glacier Cave to see ice crystals in the frozen underground grotto. Admire the glacial landscape from the rotating Titlis Rotair gondola, which affords 360-degree views, or crunch along the snow on the Cliff Walk for vertigo-inducing vistas. You can gaze down at the icy depths from the Ice Flyer chairlift and hop on a snow tube at Titlis Glacier Park for downhill thrills (May–October). Admission to each acclaimed glacier attraction is included, weather permitting.

If the brisk mountain air makes you feel hungry, replenish at one of several restaurants at the summit (own expense).

At the prearranged time, meet your guide for the descent back to Engelberg where your coach is ready to return to Lucerne. Your tour then concludes in Lucerne Old Town.

Lucerne (Pass By)

Board your coach in central Lucerne (Frankenstrasse 2-4) , and travel south to Engelberg, a glorious alpine village tucked in the shadows of Mt Titlis.

Titlis

On arrival, hop aboard the aerial cableway with your guide, and then ride to the glacier’s summit — some 10,000 feet (3,020 meters) above sea level. Take a ride with the revolving cable car "Rotair" and enjoy the spectacular sights of the glacier's deep crevasses and gigantic ice boulders.

Since, this is December, expect high winds and no access to Chair lift and Cliff walk.
Be sure to wear good shoes if you are planning to go up to the the Cliff Walk it was icy and and windy.

Amazing trip !!! Thoroughly enjoyed with my family.....the tour guide on bus no 2 was too good and had shared lots of information about Switzerland. Would love to take another trip again as this was our first trip.

Getting on the bus and getting there was very easy and simple. The guide was very clear about the directions and gave us a general map of information in the area. The area itself is very well designed with excellent signage, and we were easily able to do all of the activities. I would recommend bringing lunch with you, is that the only activity we didn’t participate in, but I would hate to waste time eating when there’s so many beautiful things to see.

Mt.Tilis visit was a breathtaking experience. A beautiful view of the Swiss alps and definitely worth a visit. From the pickup to drop off all logistics and transport was well taken care of by Best of Switzerland tours. Patrick the guide was very informative and friendly :)!

The ride up the mountain was breathtakingly beautiful. The activities at the top of the mountain were so much fun, especially the ice flyer and ice cave.
This is not a tour. It’s transportation and someone to buy the ticket.

Our tour offers the possibility for a seamless journey to Mt Titlis. It is true that Mt Titlis can be visited using public transport, where the return ticket would cost CHF 134.80. Our tour costs only CHF 2.20 more, which we consider a very fair price taking into account that you have a tour guide along with you organizing the tickets and explaining some interesting facts about Switzerland. Additionally, the bus drives directly to the valley station of Engelberg whereas, by public transport, you would need to walk an additional 13 minutes from the train station to reach the valley station. You get full guidance and support during the entire stay. If the tour guide didn’t provide enough explanations about the history or culture of our country, we would like to apologize on his/her behalf and will gladly pass on this feedback to the tour guide as a suggestion for improvement. Just being able to go up the side of that mountain and enjoy the view...I wasn't scared at all...our guides Laris and trainee Ambisa were wonderful and we can't forget Antonio the driver...this was the most favorite excursion I have taken...don't miss the opportunity to do this...we were very fortunate we had a beautiful day...there are no words to explain the beauty that God created...no words to explain just beautiful

We had a great time on this tour. If you want to visit Titlis without the hassle of figuring it out yourself, this is a good option for you. Titlis was crowded, like you’d expect, but otherwise we really enjoyed our time.

Loved being able to see the glacier and the cliff walk. The rotating tram was cool too. The ice flyer is a chair loft and was fine, but we are skiers so that was not a highlight.
