Your morning or afternoon tour of France’s oldest city departs from Marseille Vieux Port. Meet your local guide and get acquainted with the deluxe electric bike. Fit with a small motor and optional baby seats and trailers, this modern ride allows you and your family to cover a lot of ground with ease.

First, cruise to the Palais du Pharo (Napoleon's Palace), the 18th-century coastal mansion that stands like a sentinel on the entry to the Old Port. Admire the bustling waterway before heading inland to view Notre-Dame de la Garde, a neo-Byzantine Catholic basilica that rises from Marseille’s highest point, and the Abbey of Saint-Victor.

Continue toward Corniche du Président John F Kennedy (Corniche Kennedy) for a leisurely ride along the sun-kissed coastal boulevard. Along the way, pedal past scenes of French life such as locals playing pétanque—a favorite game of balls—and fishermen working in the village of Vallon des Auffes and the quaint cove Anse de Malmousque. Stop to snap great photos, get insider tips and learn fascinating anecdotes about Marseille’s long history from your savvy guide. You also have a chance to stop for some lunch or refreshments (own expense).

Upgrade your tour to include a trip through the ambient Le Panier neighborhood, the oldest quarter in Marseille. Coast through picturesque lanes and under terraced houses strung with clotheslines. Admire the striking façade of the Marseille Cathedral and the Museum of the Civilisations of Europe and the Mediterranean (MuCEM), a strikingly modern accent on Marseille’s ancient waterfront.

Your leisurely electric bike tour concludes at its starting point in Vieux Port.

Awful experience - bad customer service
, Aug 2022
Arrived and got checked in. Then told my tour was cancelled as they overbooked. Wasted money to get to Tour and my one port day in Marseille. Awful customer service.

Hi we are sorry for that situation. First time in 2022, and we hope the last one.
Great way to see Marseille city.
, Aug 2022
The ride made seeing so much of Marseille city relatively easily. The meeting point was in the town centre which was a bit of a surprise as I was on a cruise ship and thought the meeting point was close by. It was a 25 euro taxi ride into town and then the same back to the ship. I also wasn't aware it was an E-bike tour from my booking but was so relieved it was as Marseille has some major hills. It did take a bit of time to get used to the bike though if you've never ridden one before. They have a range of E-bikes to suit all sizes, including kids. We used their helmets which they did sanitise when we gave them back but they didn't insist on helmets. As quite a bit of the ride is on roads, I would advise this as they were busy and you had to have your wits about you. The guide was good with reasonable English and he covered lots of ground. The only issue was the haphazard nature of the organisation at the start. We arrived 10 minutes early for a 90 minute ride. After much messing around with bikes and set up and seemingly waiting for another guide who didn't arrive, we set off 30 minutes late. The guide more than made up for this as we rode for nearly 2 hours but if you had a time pressure this would not have been great. We were given the option to carry on for another few hours and pay an additional 10 euros but we didn't take this up as we needed to head back to the ship. All in all, a good trip but I'd say you need to be reasonably confident on a bike.
Very bad tour

This bike tour was so bad. We have been on lots of bike tours and this on the worst. The leader did not know she lost us because we had to stop for traffic and she did not keep track of her people. Vary rushed trip

Hello, your guide was perfect and tried to handle the situation with customers like you with real composure. You didn't stop during the tour complaining about the fact that we don't have a bottle of water for sale (sorry, we don't have water and that's why we ask you bring some), or because the guide wasn't expecting you when you stopped on the middle of the hill (one person of our staff still stayed with you to wait for the others to come down). You may have done a lot of rides in the past, but at some point, when you hit 83, and even a powerful e-bike isn't enough to get you up a hill, don't blame the guide, but understand that you are no longer able to practice this discipline anymore.
Great start to the day!

We thoroughly enjoyed this bike ride and what made it superb was our guide and her obvious love for her city and the ability to communicate that to us. The bikes made it easy to navigate the city.
Would do it again!

We are sorry to hear this story. No show, no message from you before, no message from you after...just a refund request 5 hours after the end of the tour for "bad weather" reason. I checked port authorities, your vessel was on time. I think the real reason was the weather too cold for you. No refund, sorry.

A Beautiful Ride in Marseille!
, Aug 2021
Stefan was an amazing guide! We went down to the Vieux Port and biked along the coast to the Palais and Stefan told us all about the Napoleanic history behind a lot of the architecture. As we went further up the coast we learned about the unique history of Marseille and bouillabaisse and a lot about Marseille culture today. What a wonderful way to spend a morning when you’re just starting out in the city!

Top tier experience
, Oct 2020
It was a great experience that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed! Our tour guide (Manu) was prompt and also very helpful along the way. He provided us with some useful historical facts as well as a few recommendations for places we could visit and restaurants we needed to try out. If you’re looking for a great way to get around Marseille, stopping off at great places to take pictures whilst also doing a little exercise at the same time, then I’d highly recommend this!
Great guided tour ! Guide was very flexible Very comfortable the e bikes, without e bikes it would have been to steep

Thank you Francine, your tour turned into a private architectural visit or Marseille.
Loved It!

We all enjoyed this tour greatly and would highly recommend touring Marseille on bikes. The only disappointing thing is not enough pictures of every beautiful twist and turn view. Our guide Paul was excellent and we now love Marseille.

Do it! This is a great way to see the city!
, Aug 2019
We did a bike tour in a few other places we have visited over the years, but this may be one of the best! I always think it is a great way to see any new city, especially when time is short. You are able to pack so much in and take both the small side streets and main roads along the way. To motorized bikes are quite zippy and made it easy to keep up and move easily up hills. We covered some great territories stopping frequently to take in main sites and some off-the-beaten-path spots only a local would know. We took in great views of the coast, the city center and harbor, and stopped at the big cathedral with wide sweeping views over the city too. All picture perfect spots. This makes me want to come back again. Our tour guide might have a different review. She got a flat tire which delayed us at the first stop while being fixed, but we had a great time meeting our group and taking photos of each other. It was time well spent and didn't bother any of us a bit! We also we got stuck by a delivery van in the parking lot of a 5 star resort with great coastal views...what a treat! She was great and we loved her perspective on the city. I highly recommend it!

Great guide! City .tour not for kids!
, Jul 2018
Hey all....we booked a couple of trips through Viator and thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd one. We would have truly enjoyed this one as well, if it was only my husband and I. The City is not prepar ed for Cyclists so is definitely not for kids or anyone who is intimidated by motorists. We had our 13 year old with us and he was scared the entire time. The city has steep hills and the motorists are unyielding. Unfortunately the site implies that this trip is ok for kids. Its really not. I do wish that it had as another electric bike tour is available to and through the national park. It likely would have been more appropriate for my son. Our guide was SUPER and very kind!

Guide was very good. This is a physically demanding trip up a steep hill at one point. Suggest guide ensure everyone is in lowest gear to easily make it up the hill.
