At this oceanfront, Kaanapali sunset luau, feast on an all-you-can-eat, delicious self-service Hawaiian cooking buffet, and settle in for a fiery evening of authentic Polynesian dancing. Through chants, stories, dances, and songs, take a journey across the Pacific from Hawaii to Fiji and Samoa, and watch in amazement at the fast-paced, Tahitian hip shaking splendor. There are also traditional Hawaiian dances, such as the tale of the Princess Kalua, as well as everyone’s fiery favorite—the Samoan fire and knife show.

Overbooked Event

They over booked the event. The table we were assigned was too far back and I couldn't see anything. We were also the last table for the buffet and most of the food was gone by the time we got there.

We felt that this experience was overrated and much too expensive . Slow moving program, boring, talent appeared to be amateurish. Not a good experience.

Food was great. Entry could be more efficient. Emcee was great as was show! Stage should be higher for better visibility. Sound check would help, audio not clear.

If you appreciate culture and art this Luau is the place for you! The entire event from start to finish was a wonderful experience. The events and activities were amazing. The food was delicious. Of course, the host and the performers really made the whole experience feel truly authentic. A must-do experience in Maui!
Not a great luau

I was not impressed with this luau. The performers were good, but they need a larger stage. The rest of it was not great. There were a million people and I struggled to see anything because of all the heads in the way. The majority of the people were seated very far from the stage. The food was also not that great, and the meat was particularly dry. The buffet line went fast, and they kept the food refilled well, but the desserts were limited in variety and of poor quality. The vegetarian option was also sad (tofu, mushroom, and quinoa drenched in oil). The drinks line was very long, so if you don't want to wait, you can drink coffee, tea, iced tea, Blue Hawaiian, or water. I'd skip this luau and try to go to one with fewer spectators.

We were moved in doors because it rained all day and night. Which was fine the music, dancers and emcee, were excellent. The Buffet was so good no room for dessert, would see it again.

It turned out to be rainy so the event was cancelled halfway. We had fun chatting with other folks at our table and tried to make the most out of the rainy evening. The eventis held in open grounds so be prepared for direct exposure to weather elements.
