Its a recreational paddle, the rest of my group had never been in a kayak before.

My husband and I came from California and although we are used to sun, I would recommend sunscreen and a hat.

Very cool to be on the ocean in a kayak!

Kayaking in Maui

We booked the kayaking paddle trip, for 3-18-23. We found the store/meeting place easily. We were greeted very nicely by Ryan our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and made the experience a great time. We saw turtles, monk seals, and some whales in the distance. We learned about some history of the islands, and had fun asking questions. Paddling was easy and we felt safe. Try it, you won’t regret it. Thanks Ryan for this great adventure.

First time experience for us. We are from the older generation and we weren’t sure if we could hang, or even stay upright. We did great so we still got it! It was a lot of fun, had a great guide, saw whales, turtles and seals. We would definitely do it again. Thanks for a great time!

Ryan, our guide was patient with us as we are only mildly experienced paddlers. He led us out with expertise and we were able to see several whales up fairly close, amazing, once in a lifetime experience from that perspective! We also saw turtles, black sharks and a spiny sea urchin Ryan found for us! All in all, it was fun exercise and an absolutely wonderful day!

Ryan was a wonderful guide. He gave us all the tools to be safe and informed as well as providing us with some history of Hawaii. Well worth taking 2 hours to get some exercise, see the ocean wild life and surround yourself in beauty.

Error in the system

We started 14 in the group. Viator has a limit of 6-7 per reservation, it took a special booking by a Viator to book 2 groups of 7. I then changed one of the group to 6, so 13 final count in the group. On the day of, the booking of 7 was overlooked. To make story short, we have to sacrifice 3 people who couldn’t be accommodated. Now I’m looking for my refund for the 3 people.

Truly enjoyable very easy ocean kayak trip. The water was calm and beautiful. We got to see a monk seal and a sea turtle up so close. Our guide, Ryan, was really great, patient and helpful with our paddle instructions both before and during the trip. Provided us with interesting Maui information during our breaks throughout the trip. The length of 1 hour is great for the inexperienced kayaker. The kayaks had sturdy comfortable back rests which is not always the ass. It was a great trip and I would do it again.
