What To Expect

The Maui Atlantis Submarine tour begins in Lahaina Harbor, where an open-air cruise brings you out to the dive site and sub. Transfer aboard the state of the art, air-conditioned submarine for an aquatic experience in search of wild marine life.

In 2005, an old whaling ship, the Carthaginian, was scuttled off of Lahaina, and today serves as an artificial reef for colorful coral and fish. Prior to its scuttling in 2005, this area was simply a sandy bottom with very little marine life, and today it houses indigenous fish and a vibrant coral reef.

In winter, from December-May, there’s even the chance of spotting whales on the journey out to the sub, and you never know if one might pay a visit while underwater!

Total tour time is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Actual underwater tour time is 45 minutes

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Such an amazing experience for even our 84 year old grandpa and grandma so any age is great - try it wont disappoint

The trip was great. Randy was very knowledgeable and with good sense of humor. We saw many fishes and sharks. Very safety oriented. Was hoping to see octopus but were not so lucky. Wish we went little further in terms of distance. Seem to be in open spot circling around. But would take the tour again.

We saw jellyfish, a starfish, sharks, and many other fish that I don't remember the names! Zack was a terrific host...very knowledgeable AND entertaining! Loved being able to see things normally only available to divers.

One in a lifetime

Aloha from România! The tour was a great, main reason for this on top of the underwater view was the crew. To my shame I don't remember the captain name who was speaking and describing what we see above and under the ocean. He really knows how to put a show with his stories. It was my first submarine experience so I did not know what to expect, we start with a short boat trip where we got instructions and we were able to see how the submarine goes out, then we get inside and we see different corals and fish, we got lucky to see also some small sharks. The tip of the iceberg would have been to see a whale but I understood this rarely happens. We also saw a boat acquired especially to be sunk so coral would grow on. That looked spectacular. The whole experience was safe from start to bottom and took about 45 min under the water. The visibility down there is very good, we reached about 40m down. On our way back we had lucky and saw also some black dolphins jumping back behind the boat. If you plan to visit Maui you should allow some time to check this. For sure I will if I will come back here. Cheers!

Unexpected Surprise - Outstanding Tour

Didn't know what to expect. Thought we would see shipwrecks and fish (various types, and maybe some sharks, rays, etc.), but a whale! Unexpected Surprise! The entire staff and crew were all fantastic. However, I must comment on Keo, our tour guide. She was outstanding! Extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of her job. Very passionate about what she does. It may be unfair to the other guides, but I can't see anyone being any better. She made our tour outstanding!
