What To Expect

Your Maui horseback tour begins at the Mendes Ranch Corral, where you meet the paniolos and your horse before embarking on your ride. Choose from a morning or afternoon departure.

Canter across rolling green pastures and down towards Waihee Valley, where you ride along the wave-battered coast with the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop and see panoramic vistas of the valley. Snap photos of the central valley and get photos of you up in the saddle. Then, gradually ascend your way up the mountain, passing taro patches and plantation homes, on the return trip back to Mendes Ranch corral.

My daughter and I went to the Mendes Ranch and had a blast. We were greeted by a great team and felt safe the entire time as well as had a challenge ourselves. Mikey and Peeps were wonderful horses and we couldn't have had a better experience of the views and soaking it all in.

Beautiful scenery of parts of the ocean and Maui that you wouldn’t otherwise get to see except for being on this trail on a horse, no less. This is an experience our family will look forward to again. The ranchers were great. The horses well trained for the trails that are at times steep and a little rocky. The horses handled it no problem and gave us a memorable experience.
