Journey from the Living Reef exhibits to the renowned 750,000-gallon Open Ocean exhibit to encounter Hawaii’s marine life, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. With over 60 exhibits, 20 daily presentations, cultural activities, and tours, Maui Ocean Center enables guests to experience the diversity of Hawaii’s marine life and local culture in an immersive and educational environment. Controlling Coral!

Naturalists were knowledgeable and easy to understand. The locals demonstrating the native crafts were great. A very good exhibit of coral reefs.

We had time for one last “event” before leaving Maui. We had seen the Aquarium from earlier visit to the area but didn’t have time for full tour. So, as a way to fill time before departure, “Let’s try the aquarium”. We were not disappointed with the variety of aquatic wildlife. The large tank was kool but the strange variety of coral and fish was educational. One true benefit was a greater understanding of conservation and importance of preservation. Thank you.

Good presentations and well laid out. Loved the whale 3D video. Beautiful fish! There was a nice little play area to give the kids a break. It isn’t a huge place, but still lots to see.

Weather forecast called for heavy rain, so many people went to MOC. Lines were long but staff did not appear to be prepared to handle. There were no signals for how long wait times were. People with infants didn't find out infants weren't allowed in the Dome theater until they were at the door after a 20 minute wait. PARKING APP DID NOT WORK AND WHEN I FINALLY GOT A PERSON TO HELP, HE WOULDN'T BOOK IT FOR LESS THAN 5 HOURS! (Same experience on-line prior to arrival.) The exhibits were good, but some of the docents didn't show up at scheduled talk times.

We were really looking forward to this experience based on the reviews. We found it lacking in just about every way. Minimal exhibits. Long lines for uneventful exhibits. For a designation it was very lacking. There is an aquarium in Jenks OK that outshines this one 1000%. The OKC zoo used to have an aquatic center that also was so much better. We expected a whole lot more for a Hawaii aquarium with access to ocean marine life. If not for the long lines for 2 exhibits we would have been in out out in 30 minutes. Would not go again and would not recommend.
