What To Expect

Your lesson is held at Maui’s Breakwall Beach, located in Lahaina Harbor. This spot includes restrooms, lockers, lounge chairs, and showers and is the perfect place for families to sunbathe and relax before or after the surf class.

Your instructor provides you with paddling techniques and tips for catching waves and standing up. Enjoy some of the best surfing conditions in the world as you sit in the clear, shallow surf. Your instructor is also CPR and First Aid certified, as well as a trained lifeguard. Please note that private lessons are required for groups with surfers between the ages of five and eight.

After your adventure out on the waves has concluded, you may purchase photos of the lesson, if you wish.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

We have done surf lessons on the other islands….this is a great option for older kids.

They provide shirt and water shoes to protect your feet.

Would recommend taking the morning class when the water is much calmer for younger kids.

We have a 10, 12, and 14 year old. This was their 1st time surfing and they had a blast!! All 3 stood up right away and caught a ton of waves. Scott their instructor was super knowledgeable and did a great job. Nice, small group size and overall an awesome experience. Would definitely recommend!!

My husband and I were both able to surf after a quick on land lesson with Scott. He scouted out the perfect spot for us first-timers with shallow water where we could stand if needed. Great introduction to surfing

My husband and I booked a group lesson and fortunately then got surf lessons just for the two of us. In our opinion, this was best for the introduction to surfing. Our surf instructor briefly explained to us how to get up and after a few dry exercises we went straight to the sea. The place was carefully chosen, the waves was great for the first surfing attempts and if you fell off the board, you could even stand in the water. This can take away some fear of getting up on the board. Overall, it was a great experience and we would like to book a lesson again soon.

Most fun we've had so far! The lesson was excellent, both instructors (father & son) were great and super helpful. Lot of waves when we went so we had a good chance to practice and with their tips, we were easily able to stand on the board during the first few tries. Highly recommend.

I have never in my life had such a terrible experience with a lesson. Absolutely DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!! Not only was the young instructor RUDE and unprofessional but he expected everyone to know what they were doing already. That is NOT the purpose of a lesson, by definition. Also, the owner is just as rude as her son. There is no customer service and there is no need to waste your money booking with them. Also, they never took pictures and they expected us as customers to carry their boards back and put them up for them after being absolutely so rude. I’m telling you, I don’t normally write reviews, but this needed to be known to everyone that is trying to book here. DO NOT DO IT! Then when confronted for poor service, was blamed for their mistakes.

I am the owner and I actually tried to understand where she was coming from. We actually had a fine conversation on the phone and to call me rude is completely unfair. The issue is that these two people signed up for surfing but could NOT swim. Online when you sign up for this class it says you must know how to swim. It makes the instructors job very difficult when they can not even get on a surfboard and do the paddling motion. We are unable as a company to let people "try" the activity and if it doesn't work to refund them. That is all that was said. No one was ever rude. Also the surf boards are stored very close to the beach so carrying them is never a problem. This is not an issue of poor service when someone is asking us to do the impossible.
