What To Expect

Start the day with a 30-minute flight between Maui and Oahu, where you’re quickly transported from Honolulu Airport to begin the tour of Pearl Harbor. Begin at the Arizona Memorial Visitor Center, where in addition to info on the day’s events, you’ll also find original artifacts left over from the Japanese attack.

From there, board a boat for a short ride to the Arizona Memorial, where over 1,000 sailors rest inside the battleship’s sunken remains.

Once back on shore, grab a headset and explore inside the famous USS Bowfin, which was often referred to as “The Pearl Harbor Avenger” for its service in World War II. Follow this up with a visit inside The Pacific Aviation Museum, where you’ll learn about some of America’s greatest aviation heroes.

To bring the tour to a dramatic close, stroll the decks of the USS Missouri on a specially guided tour, and see the spot where the Japanese surrender was signed in 1945. Having the Missouri here in Pearl Harbor is a fitting spot for its retirement, seeing as it brings the war full circle to where America first joined.

This tour was way too long. You are on your own to walk through the memorial. No guided tour. There is nothing to eat but really bad junk food, and the lunch provided requires you to buy your own drink. It is difficult to bring you own lunch since no bags are allowed inside. The limo driver was great, but I wish we had skipped this tour. There are much more fun things to do in Hawaii.

The start of the tour was marred by the representative not being present at the airport to meet us as promised. We had not been advised of the flight number or time and no replacement representative had been arranged. We rang Polynesian Tours and were told there would be no representative but that our tickets could be picked up at the airline desk. However, the airline had no record of our tickets so we had to ring again and it transpired that the typo we had advised them about had not been corrected. The airline were very angry with us and stated that leaving tickets at the check in was not their policy. Eventually we had tickets and seats on the flight to Honolulu but it was a very unpleasant experience and we were concerned we would lose our whole day trip. From there on the day went smoothly with excellent service from our tour guide who even at the end of the day accompanied us to the TSA desk to ensure the residual typo problem did not prevent us flying back to Maui to our young children

The trip accomplished what we wanted ... to see Pearl Harbor, and hear about the significant history there. However, the logistics of the trip were less than desirable, beginning with being rescheduled to another day, and no follow-up. It was also difficult to communicate with the tour planners prior to arrival .. a website indicated to contact us via e-mail, or phone, but there was no phone number listed. The hotel where I was staying even tried to identify a phone number for Viator, and was unable to do so. The original booking indicated that transfers would be arranged from my hotel to the airport, but I learned upon arrival that this was no longer available in 2017 ... an additional 140 expense! Upon arrival in Pearl Harbor we were greeted promptly, and transportation arranged, however, the bus driver failed numerous times to tell us where to meet, and what time ... or gave a spread of time ... 2 or 2:30. The biggest disappointment was that we only had an hour at the USS Missouri ... 35 minutes of which was a lecture tour of the main deck where the signing took place ... we had no time to tour the ship ........ VERY disappointed in this. It seemed that the tour time could have been more balanced.

This tour is a must! If you're coming to Hawaii, make it a point to visit Pearl Harbor. We flew in from Maui, and it was well worth it. My only complaint would be that we were a bit rushed through the different sites. Personally, we could have used more time. Highly recommended...

Was a good day a little disorganized but would not give for it. They picked us up late at the airport and brought us back several hours earlier than was told when we signed up. Would not give for the experience but may try again later.

Tour guide was great. Everything was on schedule. However, disappointed that trip to Arizona was canceled due to weather conditions. Yet, they did a great job finding alternative venues to see.
