New divers are encouraged to join and receive basic training in shallow water before heading out to sea.

We meet our guests at our headquarters at 8:30. You will meet your instructor, sign a medical form, have briefing about your dive, get fitted for gear, and receive driving directions to the dive site. Private transportation to the dive(s) is not included. Please inform us if you will not have a car.

Minimum age to participate is 10 years old
After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more

Guests must be proficient at swimming to complete this activity
Guests must be able to carry 30lbs on their backs for short distances
Transportation not included
Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
Basic swimming ability is recommended
This is a private tour/activity. Only your group will participate

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

David with Banyan Tree Divers was awesome . He made sure we had a great time with clear instructions (our first dive) and a great personality. He made sure we spent every moment we could InThe water engaged with our surroundings. We highly recommend Banyan Tree Divers and David after our great experience.

Our dive instructor Shane made it such a great time. Dive conditions weren’t the best because there was a storm off-shore but he took us to a nice beach we’re we still were able to see a lot. Also a great photographer. The photos from the dive were fantastic!

Wow this was a great dive with my son who’s 16. Shane our instructor was very good and went over everything we needed for a successful dive. Turtles, fish and the coral reef was great. If you want to dive having a private dive 2-4 people is well worth it.

Great scuba experience

Our scuba instructor Jen was very knowledgeable and made the experience very fun. Thorough explanation of safety, how to use the scuba gear. Actual dive site was near a turtle cleaning station, cool to see. No underwater cameras to take photos since all attention to scuba safety. Did not come with water or snacks as advertised.

Best first time scuba diving!

This was the best adventure we took on our Maui trip!! Banyan Tree Divers was an incredible company. Their patience with us as brand new scuba divers was exactly what we needed. This was the 1st dive for my husband & I, so we were uneasy. Kevin & Caitlin immediately put us at ease. Caitlin was very knowledgeable & patient. Diving has been on our bucket list for a long time. It was challenging & fun. At 60 yrs plus it was worth the wait.
