What To Expect

Spend your day in Maui enjoying an up-close encounter with the island’s diverse marine life during this snorkeling adventure to some of the island’s top sites. You’ll stop by Molokini Crater and Turtle Town, allowing you the chance to spot a wealth of tropical fish, rays and Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles.

Check in for your day’s snorkel adventure early in the morning at the Kihei Small Boat Ramp. Skim over the waters near Maui in a speedy, eco-friendly military-inspired raft, heading first to Molokini Crater. This crescent-shaped crater is all that remains of a volcanic eruption millions of years ago. Today it plays host to a wealth of marine life like rays and tropical fish. 

Thanks to your early start time, you’ll likely be the first boat at the site, ensuring an uncrowded snorkeling experience. Enjoy a continental breakfast before jumping into the water. Visibility at this top-notch diving and snorkeling site often exceeds 180 feet (55m), ensuring you clear sight lines all the way to the bottom. If you want to relax, feel free to take a break on the boat’s comfortable pontoons for some sunbathing. Then head to the backside of Molokini Crater, a snorkel site few visitors ever see.

Leave Molokini behind as you head to your next snorkel spot at ‘Turtle Town,’ stopping on the way to see some recent lava flows at La Perouse Bay, a favorite habitat for Hawaiian spinner dolphins. Arrive at your final snorkel site, ‘Turtle Town,’ where you’ll have a chance to swim with the gentle Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles that inhabit the area. When you come back up, dig into a deli lunch before returning back to your departure point in Maui.

Amazing snorkel trip

We had a wonderful snorkeling trip, so much better than one of the larger boats with lots of people. Since our trip started early in the morning we avoided the larger crowds of snorkelers that arrived later on the big boats. Our captain did a great job of narrating the trip with interesting facts. The back of Molokini was fascinating and the fish were much larger than the ones in the front of the crater. Saw lots of turtles at Turtle Town and diverted for several minutes to watch some passing whales. The ride of the raft was also a lot of fun - highly recommend!

Jace and Kelly were fantastic! Helpful, funny, informative- great experience! The tropical fish at the crater were incredible. The ease of these boats allows you to go to different spots quickly. Guaranteed wonderful snorkeling, turtles, and whales!!

Best snorkeling trip we've ever taken! Tim and Hannah were fun and knowledgeable. It was so great to have a small group, we could get in and out of the water quickly. I'm prone to seasickness and felt great the entire time, even on the smaller vessel. We saw so many whales, turtles, and fish. The most diverse wildlife of any snorkeling we've ever done. The kids really appreciated all of Tim's 'dad' jokes too 😂

Snorkeling off the backside of the Molokini crater is not to be missed!! The sea life was beautiful and hearing the whale song under the water was epic!! Are captain and crew were very knowledgeable and entertaining through out the trip and we are so thrilled we had the best time!! 10/10 recommend redline tours!!

Molokini crater snorkeling was fun. Too crowded though.. I wouldn’t recommend this if you are doing this for the first time.

We snorkeled at 4 spots and the Captain and crew knew how the visibility would be and the beat places to go. We got to see many different types of fish and swim with at least 7 turtles! In case anyone ia wondering whether someone who doesn't want to snorkel should go - definitely! My Mom stayed on the boat and saw turtles come up for air. Plus we say many whales, spinner dolphins and some babies! Made for an amazing trip!

Always great time at red line. Third time going over the last 10 years. Always courteous and first boat to Molokini. Get to both sides and then turtle beach. Captain “surfed” the larger waves we had this time and was fun. Was windy but not a problem for the captain at all.

This is a must do when visiting Maui. Tim and Jake were exceptional guides! Educational and super fun trip! If you are prone to motion sickness make sure you take something for it, the water can be rough by the crater.

This was a fantastic snorkel experience. Chase and Zach were great operators and took us to 4 different places to snorkel. Snorkeling with the turtles was the best!

A great time! The boat is pretty fast ride, a little bumpy but i definitely recommend sitting in the front! We wouldn't have had such a fun ride in a bigger smoother boat. My friend and I were laughing so much when it was rocky and we were clinging to our seats! Staff is super friendly and nice. the spots we went to were nice to swim fishes were definitely present! The price is a little steep but worth the experience.

The whole redline team were extremely knowledgeable and so much fun! Also, the snorkel spots were the best we’ve seen in Hawaii. We will use redline again, every time we come back to Maui.

Captain Tony was very entertaining. He did a great job finding excellent snorkeling locations where the fish were abundant. The boat ride was a lot of fun too. Swimming with the turtles was magical! Having a light breakfast and lunch was a bonus. It was awesome having a small group too. I highly recommend this adventure!

What an amazing adventure! Tony and Ally were great hosts, and took us to 4 snorkeling spots, the last which included green sea turtles. Every location was fantastic and we never felt rushed. A casual and fun excursion!

Our experience was incredible! The small group experience was great and our guides were amazing. We did the 5 hour tour and it was an incredible time. The boat ride was awesome. Four stops at incredible snorkel spots with breakfast and lunch. 10/10 would recommend and so again!
