• Pickup is available from all hotels and most condos. **If your condo is not listed, please put in the name and/or address**. • AirBnBs, BnBs, private residences, and locations east of Kahului may require a meeting point. • Pick up can vary from 6:50a (the earliest) to 8:10a (the latest). • Mahalo Tours will message you through this site to confirm pick up time and location. • Have your cell phone on and with you so the driver can call if there is an issue. • Please be ready for pickup on time — your driver cannot wait for longer than 10 minutes.

  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • Vehicles used on the road to Hana are not wheelchair accessible. Participants must be ambulatory. No walkers, wheelchairs and/or scooters, of any kind, are permitted.
  • We require any children under the age of 6 years old (5 and under) be in a size-appropriate safety seat; ie, a car seat or booster seat. NOTE: not provided, PASSENGERS TO PROVIDE
  • Anyone with heart, back problems, or other serious medical conditions cannot participate in the tour. Oxygen tanks, or generators are not permitted.
  • Special needs requests (except lunch) must be called in to the local supplier at least 1 week prior to tour date. All special needs requests are handled and accommodated on a situational basis.
  • We provide a continental breakfast (locally baked pastries in tropical flavors and fresh grown Maui fruits). There are no hot beverages served but you are welcome to bring your own in a to-go cup. Special lunch requests (including vegetarian requests) require a minimum of 48 hours notice.
  • Tour schedule/stops are subject to change due to weather, traffic, park closures, road closures, timing and or other various unforeseen circumstances.
  • No luggage of large bags. All bags must fit under seat.
  • Absolutely no alcohol or drugs onboard. No drinking alcohol or doing drugs while on tour.
  • Maximum weight for passenger is 325 lbs. (147 kg).
  • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Once in a lifetime experience

If this is your first time going to Maui, I would definitely recommend to get the road to Hana tour! My husband and I loved the experience. We learned so much from Uncle Louie and the adventures he’s had on the island. Not only did we learn a lot, he showed patience and affection towards the members of the party. Very respectful and hilarious at the same time. We felt safe, comfortable and adventurous all at the same time on the road to Hana. We were definitely exhausted at the end of the day and learned about the culture and the history of Hawaii. So worth it! Mahalo!

This was by far the best tour guided trip my wife and I ever took. Our guide was Loui and he lives in the Hana area. He had a wealth of knowledge. Kept us entertained throughout the trip. He is a true gem. Everyone knows him and loves him. He is also a Veteran. The stories he told were absolutely amazing. The bus felt like family after a while. We even celebrated a birthday on our bus which was pretty cool. The home cooked lunch and treats along the way were the icing on the cake. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Incredible tour - worth every penny to not have to drive ourselves and have a local, expert guide us through the beautiful and interesting sites. Stunning scenery and views along the way. Shelly was amazing! We had some initial apprehension about the twisty roads and motion sickness. That turned out to be a non-issue. Would highly recommend - ride with Shelly!

Water falls were fabulous! Scenery in general was great. Our guide was knowledgeable, entertaining and had a good sense of humor. But we expected a better choice for lunch. Rest rooms on some stops were not good but we know he had no control over that.

Matt was awesome! Friendly, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations of things to do and see around Maui. He had great driving skills and as someone who is TERRIFIED of heights, his driving skills put me at ease right away. He was very knowledgeable about the Culture and beauty here. Our trip was blocked half way through due to weather and flash flooding but Matt gave us extra time and stopped at a few extra places again to give us the experience we paid for! Uncle Russles plate lunches were Ono and if you go on Wednesday you can choose Lomi Lomi Salmon! Sooooo broke da mouth! Aloha and Mahalo Matt! Matt even came in on his day off to take us on the tour! Great Job!

Not worth the money. Our trip was cut short due to rain. And the tour guide should absolutely not be allowed to talk on his phone or text while driving customers!

Aloha We are very sorry that you found our tour to be "not worth the money”. We strive to be exceptional and are always disheartened to hear that we have not met or exceeded our goal. Unfortunately we cannot control the weather, you were able to enjoy more than 90% of the Hana tour experience. We were not able to go around the desert part because the road was washed out. This part is only the drive back to return passengers to the hotels. Also the driver has to get emergency updates of closures, flooding, landslides, road conditions, etc to keep everyone safe and cannot block the road to use the cell that is why he used it and had it on speaker. Fortunately the other guests didn’t feel the same way about your concerns and your tour experience. Mahalo

Mahalo Tours guide, Kobi, was great. He made the 617+ turns on the road to Hana very comfortable. And his tour went completely around Mt Haleakala, not just up and back to Hana. Recommend this very competent guide to anyone.

Our flight was delayed 12 plus hours due to weather. After calling and speaking with 2 different people to try to change our reservation we were told no because it was less than 24 hours prior to our booking. Now I am out $400 plus dollars. Terrible customer service. It made an already stressful and disappointing situation worse

Jaime was great! She is such a character. Had funny stories and was an EXCELLENT driver. Driving is THE way to do the Road to Hana - the natives prefer it and you will be so glad you did this. It rained sporadically and we were extremely glad Jaime knew the road and crossings so well that we never worried about safety or our ability to cross bridges. Thank you!!

Our tour driver and guide Kobi absolutely made the trip for us. What a personable and informative guide - he shared so much about the plants, history and current issues, never failing to answer questions. All this while driving around hairpin bends and busy roads, without hesitation, yet still very courteous to other travelers. The company was so gracious about arranging a pick up after I had forgotten my hat on the bus. We had fruit treats, banana bread squares and chips, along with water bottles along the way. Lunch was a hot meal of Hulu chicken that everyone enjoyed, along with rice and salad. One of the highlights of our trip to Maui

The tour guide Rudy was the best! Very informative, humoring, and friendly! God's creation is amazing! If you get car sick etc I recommend Dramamine before you leave. It's very hilly,curvy, and bumpy.. Our lunch was delicious also!
