Overview

Seasoned guides explain whale behavior on this tour by Maui's only Luxury Super Raft, which gets you out to the whales faster. Maui whale watching runs from December–April when migrating humpbacks return to the marine sanctuary. Depart from Maalaea Harbor and listen for the sounds of these marine mammals via underwater hydrophone.

    Boat ride was a blast, crew was great, naturalist was informative and fun…then we saw whales…LOTS of whales. Such a fantastic experience! Office staff was also great helping with booking questions!! Will definitely tour with them again and highly recommend them!!

    Stable boat, great captain and crew. Knowledgeable about the whales. We were worried about the wind and white capped waves but the boat is very stable and totally forgot about the bad weather.

    Great experience and great value overall. On time, and crew was knowledgeable and professional. Lots of fun banter between crew to keep the atmosphere fum and engaging. You wont regret booking with this team (Maui Reef Adventures ). We saw dozens and dozens of whales. Perfect tour.

    Our captain and naturalist were as excited about the whales as we were! The boat was super fast but also super comfy and we didn’t have to fight the crowds to see multiple breaches, slaps, and a real life acrobatics show. We’ll remember this forever!

    We saw multiple Humpback whales! Maria, our guide was excellent and so knowledgeable. Our boat captain was great too, seemed to always place us in the perfect viewing spots. This was a wonderful overall experience! Highly recommended.

    It was near the end of the season. But they found a pod of whales and we had an amazing experience just hanging out with them all day. They were so much fun, the boat is a blast to ride in, it was nice to be with a small group and the staff were funny and kind. Pretty much perfect!

    What an amazing experience. Guides Ernesto and Alex were fun and knowledgeable. Everything from getting on the boat to getting off was wonderful. We saw soo many whales. The boat can really move so as soon as a whale was spotted Alex could get there fast. Everyone on board was nice. The boat was clean and in very good condition. Had an amazing time.

    We have been coming to Maui for years and we do whale watching every time. This was by far the BEST watch we’ve ever had. Capt Alex and Estabon were great. Very exciting trip. We definitely will be back

    Our mid December whale watch started very slow but we had 6 sittings about 9 or 10 whales so that was pretty good. However, on the way back to the harbor there was a sighting to pursue. That sighting lasted about 5 minutes .We paralleled a mother and her calf. The baby breached many times. We saw a lot of tails. Captain Alex will do his best to find the whales for you as he did for us. Thrilling!
