What To Expect

This Memphis ghost walking tour begins on Beale Street, one of the most iconic streets in America. Beyond this 2-mile stretch of blues clubs and restaurants, however, lies a darker history of vice, voodoo, phantoms, ghosts and lost souls. Hear the tales of an eerie past while visiting some of Memphis' oldest sites.

Follow the expert storyteller guide through the town to discover Memphis in a completely different way than the regular tours—in search of its haunted places where a lesser-known history is uncovered.

See the Orpheum Theatre, one of the few remaining movie palaces of the 1920s and home of a ghost named Mary, who has haunted performances here since 1921; the John Alexander Austin House, a Victorian-era mansion said to be haunted by two lovers; the Gayoso House apartment building; and the location of Memphis' haunted piano.

Finally, receive a tour of the notorious Ernestine and Hazel's, well known as one of the most haunted buildings in Memphis. Take a look around this former brothel turned bar, which is home to several ghosts—and a haunted jukebox.

The houses with ghost. Great narrative speakers. Very interesting trip. I loved all the stories that were told.
Worth it

Talia was amazing and very informative. The tour was really good. The room at the last stop is really worn out and that is scary. I can’t believe that room is still used regularly.
Highly recommend this tour.

Very interesting, fun and informative ghost tour. My girlfriend and I enjoyed learning of the history in that area of Memphis.
Need more alleys and dark creepy areas to hear about the ghosts couldn’t hear the guy with all the traffic

It was a decent stroll learning about heritage of Memphis but didn’t really hear much about ghosts. This was my third ghost tour and was honestly the sadest so far.

Kate was so entertaining! Made for a great experience, thank you! First trip to Memphis was so worth it!
Not worth it
Jennifer_M, Feb 2023
This was more of a historical tour than a ghost tour. Not worth the money. Hard to hear the guides, with the city noise.
Fun Trip
Holly_O, Feb 2023
The guide was knowledgeable. Would have liked more ghost stories instead of Memphis history but it was interesting.
Fun insight of the city!

Daniel was great! He knew his stuff, did a great job entertaining. Also had great advice for city experiences.
Show up early for parking or they'll leave without you
Justin_E, Dec 2022
We were late because of parking difficulties. We didn't go on the tour at all and I had bought tickets for my daughter and her godmother. I think the website should have said something about needing time for parking. We went to the Peabody Hotel and had a good time. I cannot recommend this tour . I have not rated you on Google yet.

Is Memphis even haunted?
Cassandra_S, Nov 2022
Our poor guide Brian was nice, but needed to work on his storytelling skills. We left the tour convinced that Memphis wasn't haunted. The visit to the upstairs of the bar helped redeem the tour a bit, but overall I would say this experience wouldn't spook even the faintest of heart.
