Best tour in Mexico City
carrie_s, Jul 2023
Fascinating tour of the history of Mexico! Andres is a master historian and showed us the highlights and little details we never would have known or seen in This huge museum. He was clear and very engaging throughout this 3 hour tour. Would definitely recommend and if I come back would absolutely your with Andres again. Ty
Excellent tour of Museo Anthropologico
Alla_k, Jul 2023
We had a tour for a couple. Ana was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and anthropology. We spent four hours and she customized the tour a bit for us to make sure we get the maximum experience. We also appreciated her jokes - at one point she correctly pointed out that an artifact looks just like Bart Simpson and also shared some interesting (behind the scenes) stories.
History brought to life
Barbara_K, May 2023
Our guide Ana was a great storyteller and brought 3,500 years of Mesoamerican history to life in such a memorable way.
Catered knowledge
Christopher_D, May 2023
Ana was fantastic. She started the tour by asking what our knowledge was on the history of Mexican culture (which was very basic going into the museum). With this knowledge she was able to cater the tour to us and expertly guide us through the museum. Would 100% recommend
Unforgettable experience!
Scott_B, Apr 2023
We have had many tour guides at many museums prior and none were as good as Ana. She had the ability to make a huge, beautiful museum feel intimate. Her knowledge and storytelling style are unmatched. She created an unforgettable memory for us. Thank you so much, Ana!!!
Incredible!
Michael_F, Apr 2023
Ana was a great tour guide, and a pleasure to discover the museum with. She did a great job of connecting the different elements of the museum by telling a story and allowing you to engage based upon your interests. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows in her work.

Understanding human evolution in Mexico
Ramona_M, Apr 2023
We Learned about the flow of human migration into the Americas both through the Bering strait and by boat.Ana Acosta very adeptly Illustrated the evolution of group identity and hierarchy to the acquisition of power and use of religion. I was very impressed with her knowledge and the organization of its presentation. That museum’s presentation of artifacts and dioramas really help me understand the evolution of the various groups at the various locations in Mexico. I highly recommend this tour and AinaAcosta,, our personable, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable guide.
Amazing guide for this private tour makes a massive museum come to life!
Stacy_D, Apr 2023
Ana was a fantastic tour guide on this 4-hour private tour of the Anthropology Museum. She was extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter and able to bring it to life for people are just learning about the history of the land now known as Mexico. Given the breadth and depth of the collection, the museum would be absolutely overwhelming without a guide, and we loved having Ana teach us in a fun and accessible way. She was incredibly energetic and seems to really enjoy the subject matter and cares about making it fun and enjoyable for her guests. The time passed very quickly. Note that the museum does not allow food or drink inside (even water bottles have to be stored at the front). So hydrate and eat well before you start the tour!
Fantastic tour
Charles_L, Mar 2023
My wife and I spent two short days in Mexico City and our tour of the Anthropology Museum was the highlight of our trip. The museum is stunning and Ana, our private tour guide, was fantastic. Her extensive knowledge helped us understand and appreciate the complicated history and culture of ancient Mexico. Ana brought the objects in the museum alive for us in a very engaging manner and we would absolutely book this tour again with her.
The high point in our Mexico City tour

This was the high point in our tourist experience in Mexico City. Thank you for a memorable experience
5 Star Private Tour
Kelly_H, Mar 2023
Our tour was one of the best experiences our family has had in all our travels. Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable (he has a history degree!) in Mesoamerican history. He was attentive to the needs of our 9 year old twins to take a break and have a snack too. We had visited Teotihuacan the day before and the tour with our Viator guide had the pyramids really come alive. I doubt we will ever get a tour better than the one we had.
Andres was fabulous!
Prior_P, Mar 2023
Andres was a fabulous guide who provided a wealth of information in a very understandable way. The museum is huge and this made it much more manageable. Highest recommendation!
Bringing together the threads of mesoamerican culture
Cam_B, Mar 2023
Ana was a wonderful and informative guide for our tour of the stunning anthropological museum. Her tour was so well structured, bringing threads together from across the many cultures and periods. She paced everything really well and didn't overload us with unnecessary details. The three hours flew by.
No Exaggeration: Best Tour Guide Ever
Candice_M, Feb 2023
Andres was the best tour guide we've ever had. And we've been on many tours with groups and just us. Andres asked us about our interests and then proceeded to deliver in spades. We believe there is no way to truly understand the depth and meaning of Mexico City's Anthropology Museum unless you have some context around the full story. Andres told us a story with a beginning, middle, and an ending (even those there is no end of Mexican history....just the periods he defined). In each room, he would select a key artifact that explained the story and even related it to modern day. One tiny statuette suddenly become more relevant to us when he said this is how tribes who traveled "brought their own instagram pictures along." Suddenly, we got it. In each area, he showed us maps so that we could relate it to modern day Mexico. And Andres never sugar-coated history. We learned about slavery and human sacrifice as part of the story. And he gave what seemed like a very clear-eyed view of the Spanish conquerors....yes, they used force to subdue the Aztecs, but they enlisted other native people who also didn't like the Aztecs. So much nuance to the story. Overall, I would go the extra mile to hire Andres to tour you throughout Mexico City. He is simply the best historian and storyteller we have found on all of our tours throughout the world.....and he even sent us to a terrific el Pastor taco place for lunch. Thank Andres for a remarkable day.
The Anthropological Museum is a must first tour to take when visiting Mexico City!
James_H, Feb 2023
The Museum is so extensive and laid out so well that we learned so very much about Mexico’s PreHispanic anthropological history. Our tour guide Ana Acosta was marvelous, well-read, with excellent English - she gave the tour special meaning for us. We spent 7 hours in the Museum - physically exhausted but never bored!!
Outstanding tour. Highly recommended
Greg_B, Jan 2023
This was one of the best tour experiences we've had. The anthropology museum is world-class by itself. It was made all the better by our exceptional guide, Ana. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Mayan history and a great storyteller. She brought to life the many spectacular pieces in the museum's collection. She welcomed our many questions and was genuine in her passion for sharing the long history of her country and people. If you visit Mexico City, this tour should be at the top of the list.
A must see tour
Michael_S, Jan 2023
A beautiful big important museum We would have been lost without our guide Ana who was articulate, fun, wonderfully knowledgeable and efficient in teaching us about what we were seeing. It was totally worthwhile and a highlight of our visit
