Cristian was an amazing tour guide! He was really friendly, knowledgeable and personable. He made learning history fun! I would recommend doing this tour if you want to understand the ancient history of Mexico City with a great tour guide.

Cristian was a fantastic guide! Very informative and engaging. Tour was a very manageable length so you can learn without getting exhausted, then you have a reentry pass until 5p to look around on your own. Perfect break for lunch. Highly recommend !

Get the guide! We visited once without a guide and found the exhibits interesting, but we went back with a guide and he brought the museum to life for us with his stories Fascinating! (Also, only the most valuable items in the collections have signs in English, so you don’t always know what you are looking at without the guide. ) And you are allowed to enter an hour before the general public so you have the museum to yourself. Truly one of the best museum experiences we have ever had.

The museum itself gets 5 stars. Don't miss it!! The uber left us off at the opposiste side of the park and we had to walk to get there. Because of a medical condition, we need to walk at a slow pace. So I called the tour company and said we'd need to join the tour late. When we got there a guide from a different company called our tour guide who was now in the museum. She refused to tell him where in the museum she was because we were late. So we walked though it ourselves. We spebt $44.00 for this tour and got NOTHING. i understand we were late and she couldn't wait, but don't understand why she wouldn't let us join the tour in progress. Very disappointing.

The tour that never was

We got the 9:50 tour knowing we would not be able to go sooner. We kept getting messages from then stating changes. I got the voucher where it said 9:50. The night before the tour mire messages. When we arrived to the museum the day if the tour we were told at the entrance: - the tour was at 8:50 - if people are missing they are notified of that but they didn’t get any notification that anyone’s was missing. I contacted them on the phone, more of the same. Awful.

Mexico City Anthropology Museum Private Tour

My spouse and I opted for a private tour due to Covid concerns. Our guide was prompt, friendly, and courteous. Although he told us it would take a week to tour all 20 rooms of the museum, he gave us the high points in a 2.5 hour tour. It was fascinating. He discussed the history, the peoples, the art, and how it all related to modern Mexico City. We both felt we learned a lot and enjoyed it immensely.

Mariam, provided a lovely tour and hit the highlights of the museum. She set a great pace, and answered questions. Made sure to collect all of us inside the museum rather than waiting in the open sun. Really good to get this overview at the start of my visit. I learned a lot!
