Pick-up locations: CDMX Historic Center (downtown), Zona Rosa, Condesa, Polanco, La Roma (In case your hotel is outside these areas, we will provide you with a meeting point.) The Pick-up Schedule, as well as the driver's name and type of vehicle is confirmed one day before your visit, we ask you to enter your mobile number (including international code) so that you can receive such information. If you are staying in an Airbnb we ask you to provide us with the name of the Hotel closest to your home, in case you do not have one, we will provide you with the closest meeting point to your accommodation. Important: the pick up starts from 4 am

What To Expect

Meet your guide in your hotel lobby at 5:30 a.m. Head straight to your hot air balloon and ride over the Teotihuacan archeological site for an aerial view of its pyramids and temples. Enjoy breakfast back on the ground, and then continue exploring Teotihuacan.

The remainder of the tour is conducted by a combination of walking and driving or by biking. Please select your preferred option upon booking; both are priced the same.

Visit the Pyramid of Quetzalcoatl, a preserved mural in the neighborhoods of Tepantitla Tetitla and Atetelco, the Pyramid of the Sun and Moon, and more. Your guide will bring the site to life by sharing the history of key attractions as you go.

Then, head out of the archaeological zone for a walking tour of the local area. Visit a craft workshop that specializes in obsidian wares and a family factory that produces typical tuna, nopal, and xoconostle (tastings included). Enjoy a traditional-style buffet lunch before returning to Mexico City at roughly 5 p.m.

Cap Carlos is an amazingly skilled pilot. I say this as a pilot myself. Our guide, Miguel, was wonderfully kind and knowledgeable. Having the transportation pick us up at our lodging was a nice surprise and the trip was comfortable. My wife’s word for the experience is “amazing”. I’d have to agree.

My husband and I came to Mexico City for a week and were told by everyone we HAD to see Teotihuacan. We decided to splurge on the hot air balloon ride + guided tour and we were amazed! We had to leave pretty early in the morning (4:30am), but it was worth it seeing the sunrise as we were up in the skies with all the other balloons— a truly amazing unforgettable experience! Then, we had an amazing tour with our guide Ramón. He took us first around the small museum, then the pyramids/ archaeological site, and then through a pre-colonial cave system. We had Ramón all to ourselves— he was very informative, kind, and made the tour extremely personal, as he grew up only a short distance from the site. I would highly highly recommend this tour package! It was well worth the price— including transportation to/from your hotel In CDMX, the balloon ride, a personal tour, along with decent breakfast, lunch and other activities thrown in!

Simply worth the money. The schedule is perfect - Hot Hair Balloon Ride for sunrise (around 5mins) - Yummy Mexican breakfast w/mariachis - Tour of Pyramids (and few extra secrets) - Lunch (buffet in a typical Mexican restaurant) If you can ask for ELOY as a guide. He is legit THE best!

Truly was a magical experience to see the pyramids from the air. Tour was well organized and breakfast after the balloons was fantastic with music etc. biking tour was also. Wry memorable though a little too strenuous for our 8 year old. But they were able to accommodate by adding a bike hitch.

I chose the walking tour. This was a fun experience the tour guide was fun and knowledgeable. Miguel the tour guide took us to his personal shop where you could buy authentic items from the region.

I did several tours during my time in Mexico. And many were overrated and underwhelming. However, I have nothing but good things to say about this tour. The tour does start early, yes, but it’s worth it to get to the launch site for the hot air balloons to be able to catch the sunrise. It’s cold in the area, but the hot air balloon ride itself was a comfortable temperature. Form the beginning the tour was punctual (the driver, Giovanni was on time, respectful and helpful), and we were able to enjoy each site without feeling rushed. Breakfast AND lunch are included and both provided a good range of options (including some vegetarian options). We had several stops and the guide (Eloy)was really great as well. At one point he even stopped and purchased a traditional dish for us to try. They also give you a lot of great tokens/souvenirs. I think this is def one of the most generous excursions I’ve been on. Yes, it’s on the more expensive side, but what you get out of it makes it truly worth it.

Our driver picked us up right on schedule, check in was easy, then we all loaded into the balloons as the sun rose. It was beautiful seeing all the balloons rise together, then flew over the pyramids and flew high and low above the stunning landscape. The landing was gentle, then had a toast with champagne before unloading the basket. Our guide in Teotihuacan was excellent and we also enjoyed the bike tour which included a cave experience, happy hour and obsidian demonstration, and finally a late lunch at a nice place in town. Our driver was waiting at the end already so we never had to wait. Excellent experience!!

Awesome day! I’ve done a few hot air balloons before, but this tour was my favorite! Seeing all the balloons in the air was incredible!! We had a very knowledgeable guide, everything was on time and clean. Better than I could have imagined!
Pyramids yes, rest of the places NO!

The pyramids are great, the rest of the places is just a waste of time, such as the little trip to the shop, the food at the restaurant where we were taken was relatively expensive. Focus should be on what pleases the tourists, and less on "how much can I extract from this individual" The drone service during the balloon flight is a total waste of money, the resolution is really bad. Not associated with viator, but people need to know.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your visit to the pyramid of Quetzalcoatl, nor its handicrafts, mural painting, astronomical observatories and traditions such as the exhibitions of traditional seasonal offerings included in your itinerary without any extra charge. We believe that you should have done a basic tour, where you will only visit the archaeological site and not the community if you detract from the rest of the stops. Regarding lunch, if it was included in the tour, why do I consider it expensive? The additional services that you pay for (such as the drone) are not included in the service and were not offered or contracted with us, we are sorry that your opinion is based on something that you did not acquire with us.

I can't recommend this tour enough. The tour starts at 5:30am. We're given a choice of several pick up locations, the driver will reach out via WhatsApp and provide their license plate number and ETA. It took about an hour to get from Mexico City to Teotihuacan. Our driver, Angeles, was extremely attentive and stayed with us helping us get set up with the hot air balloon. The sunrise ride itself was incredible. Breakfast and lunch were provided. We had an amazing tour of Teotihuacan pyramids by Eloy. Our guides at Teotihuacan en Bici were extremely knowledgeable about the area and its history. Definitely worth the money. Make sure to tip your guides!

The hot airballoon ride at the start is an amazing experience and gives fantastic views over teotihuacan, the captain was very friendly too! The tour of the city with Eloy was incredible - he imparted deep knowledge of all the sites we visited and was a brilliant guide. Even the food was brilliant and had plenty of delicous options for veggies and vegans!

It’s really a breathtaking experience. Everything was well planned and organized with an eye for details. Bike and walking tours were organized in small groups and included some not well-known location, that worth visiting. I especially appreciated that the tour organizers paid attention that it was my birthday and arranged a lot of surprises.

The driver arrived at the expected hour, we then arrived to the ballon ride departure site, the flight was awesome, you get a really nice view of the pyramids, then we took the walking tour, it was very nice, our guide Jorge did a very good job and took us in the best route, highly recommended

The advertisement doesn’t tell you all that is included in this tour! Ride from hotel, Balloon ride, garden breakfast, tequila, mariachi band, guided tour of ruins, cave explore, liquor tasting, local lunch, and ride back to your hotel. We travel a lot. By far the best adventure tour I have ever taken. Loved that we did not spend a lot of time shopping at tourist trap stuff.

There are A LOT of tours that claim to do what this group tour does. It made me nervous because I wanted to have an amazing trip and I didn't want anything to go wrong. I could not have been more pleased with the Teotihuacan Hot Air Balloon Ride with Optional Bike or Walking Tour conducted by Teotihuacan en bici. I was shepherded all day like a VIP. The balloon ride was incredible, the views were really beyond description. The whole experience was magical and I felt entirely safe and cared for the entire time. I chose the walking tour option and ended up having a guide all to myself. Eloy was one of the best guides I have ever had. He was knowledgeable and passionate about Teotihuacan and the conversations were easy and free flowing. He answered every one of my questions. We saw it "all". I feel as if we left no stone unturned. I saw everything...we walked our butts off. He took me to ancient sites where we were the only people on site at the time. It felt like spending the afternoon with a very good, old friend. I'm sure the other guides are equally good at what they do but if you are lucky enough to get Eloy as your guide, you will most definitely have the time of your life. I would heartily recommend this tour. It was money well-spent!

It's must..breath taking baloon ride and view..so peaceful..landing was quit fun..we tried like 5times but crew was no near by..😂 landed in some field , but captain is Pro..and some passengers even took ride back in basket😃. Breakfast with mariachi live band. Great food and even tequila 😋 After we were transfered to pyramids with our tour guide Luis. He was very knowledgeable of history and we were blown away by his story telling. After taking grounds we went also to visit near by village were are still visible paintings on walls from that time. Time for bike ride..visited caves and had great experience in private residence ..Husband is working on polishing stones and definitely knows his craft and his wife make delicious salsas...and there was also tequila...We had some laughs, both purchased multiple suvenirs..get that salsa..sooo good End when we thought it's over..there was late lunch with view on pyramid...what a day ...Amazing..thank you

Brilliant trip. Picked up on time early in the morning and taken to the airfield where I had a breakfast snack. We then went to the launch site and took to the skies in the hot air balloon which was truly spectacular (one the best experiences I've ever had). After that, I had breakfast, followed by a guided tour of Teotihuacan, a trip to the caves, local business and then a late lunch before being transported home. Thoroughly recommend this and would do the balloon trip all over again!

Amazing experience. Details sent out on pick-up location and time and driver was on time for pickup. The hot air balloon ride was fairly well organized and such a highlight! The tour afterwards was very well organized and the tour guide was knowledgeable. I very much enjoyed the bike part of the tour as well! Bring a light jacket for the hot air balloon ride and shades and a light long sleeve top for the walking/cycling.

It was an amazing experience! Starting with the hot air balloon, beautiful view, the crew were extremely experienced, and the fact that were many many balloons in the air at the same time, made the view more incredible. After that, the walking tour at the Pyramids + bike tour around the village, with the tour guide Eloy, was very insightful and we learned A LOT about the past. Eloy is an excellent guide!! Taught us everything about Teotihuacán and also gave us some suggestions on what to see and do at CDMX.

Overall my experience on this excursion was great. We arrived early in our own transportation to the balloon ride and it was not a problem. We checked them early and they probably got us on a balloon and in the air. We felt safe and secure at all times in a balloon and it was a beautiful experience that we really loved. The next part of our excursion was the guided tour, we had a guy name Ramon and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He new mini interesting facts about the pyramids in the land. I would recommend this try to anyone who wants to visit the pyramids.

the ride on a hot air balloon was superb! some 60 balloons in the air at the same time, floating above the pyramids, following your shade on the ground, a great landing (directly on the trailer to transport the balloon back) , it was just exhilarating. It was my first experience, but it will definitely not be my last (no matter where on this earth!)

The pick up is early around 5am from Mexico City, but definitely worth it! A little over an hour ride then check in with coffee, fresh fruit and assorted sweets. Our balloon basket held 16, but plenty of room. There are four compartments 4 each. The ride was fantastic. The view of teotihuacan let’s you see how massive this area was. There are about 50 balloons in the air and the sunrise was beautiful! Our pilot was fantastic and landed in the trailer. There are trucks with about 6 men following to hold the basket after landing and stowing the balloon. Great crew! After the 45 minute flight you have a huge breakfast with mariachi band entertainment. We chose the blke ride option so were first brought to the teotihuacan site for a informative walk and photos with our guide. We then walked back and got our bikes for a 12 kilometer ride. This is broken up into 4 sections. We biked to a chocolate demonstration and tasting, native drinks tasting. We visited a cave with a n intersection light shaft. The colorful murals on the buildings outside were reproductions of an Aztec original painting. We then visited a family that has been carving obsidian for over 50 years. Very informative and they also had a mezcal and tequila tasting. Then to a bountiful lunch in a lovely restaurant. We left to return to Mexico City a little after 4pm. Wonderful day-we highly recommend!
