More museum than theatre

The guide was clearly on routine, we saw very little of the theatre, mainy the museum. there must be so many stories to tell about the theatre, the performances, the pieces created there. Also all the focus in on opera, while ballet is also danced there. And I really missed a museum shop, there must be books about the theatre, the artists and the works perfomed there.

Audio didn’t work. The guide failed to tell a large part of our group that we were leaving. We couldn’t hear anything that was said and rather than correct it, the guide just kept talking hurrying us along so she could get to her next tour.

I thought I had paid for a private guide but was included in a group of about 25. Four or five pulled out after 10 minutes. Started late finished early, as guide had a Spanish tour at 3.30pm. Will call Viatour when I get back to Australia. O

My wife and I enjoyed the tour of the museum and opera house. There is a lot of history here and our guide was very knowledgeable. You don't have to be an opera lover to appreciate the work and detail that is needed to put together a performance.

Our docent was very knowledgeable and spoke English well. She brought the museum and La Scala to life with many anecdotes about the composers and performers associated with the opera house. We were fortunate to hear a rehearsal in progress, then later we were able to go into the theater for photos.

The guide did an excellent job presenting the hall and an overview of the museum contents. I was disappointed by the size of the group (I was expecting a smaller group, it was between 30 and 40). I was surprised that we didn’t get to see anything back stage.

We purchased a private tour, but found it is not offered at LaScalla. We were put into a group of 20 or so. Not at all as expected. The tour itself was something I would do again. I will not use Viator agsin.

Helpful guide, but poor organisation by tour company

This was not clearly outlined as a group tour, which meant we thought we were getting a private tour, but instead, we were in a group that was too large to fit in the spaces, and about 1/2 of the group needed to spread themselves in rooms other than those being discussed. The tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful, but had too many people in the group to engage with us. Arrival at the venue was overly chaotic, creating anxiety for many people waiting, as they were concerned they would be missed from the tour. I would have happily paid more for a smaller tour, and if there were other time options, that would have helped.
