    Your guide will be waiting for you 10 minutes before the tour in front of the main Duomo Ticket Office in Piazza Duomo 14/A on the left-hand side of the Cathedral's side doors. Your guide will bring you your entrance tickets and microphone system before starting the guided tour.

  • Please note thet in the unlikely event of closures of the Rooftops, the guided tour will include the Duomo Museum (closed on Wednesdays))
  • A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements. Comfortable shoes are recommended on the Rooftops.
  • Get to the The meeting point (opposite the ticket office in Piazza Duomo 14/A, on the opposite side of the street),10 minutes before the start of the guided tour. The guide will hand out the tickets.
  • Pushchairs can be used inside the Cathedral and the Archaeological Area but MUST be closed and carried by hand on the Rooftops
  • Visitors are subject to security checks by law enforcement before visiting the Cathedral and the Rooftops. Please be ready to go through an airport-style security system.
  • Most travelers can participate
  • This is a private tour/activity. Only your group will participate

Our guide was amazing. Very knowledgeable. I have a fear of enclosed spaces and heights. There is a lift to take you to the top and she arranged for it to be just us do the lift wasnt crowded. Once at the top the view is incredible. But there are open steps to go to the roof and down from the roof. You cant fall but you can see all the way down and i was so scared. She completely understood and held my hand and kept asking if i was ok. She also organised a lift down instead of taking a narrow staircase. The views at the top and being so close to the architecture is stunning

We went in January 2023, during the off season. It was excellent! Our small group ended up being just us. Our guide was attentive, very knowledgeable and kind. He was a local to Milan and you there wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer. I very highly recommend touring the Duomo, underground and rooftop. I highly recommend Vincent and the tour group.

I didn’t do the tour…I’ll tell you why 1. I get a call about 5 hrs before my trip to inform me that the Duomo is closing at 5 so my 4-5:30 tour was either going to be reduced to an hour or had the option of getting there at 3:15 to star my tour at 3:30pm. I told the person that I couldn’t do that time because I was traveling from London to which the person who called me proceeded to assure me that if I was there at 4pm they would just cut the tour 30 mins. 2. I arrived at the tour location at 3:43pm just in time for my initial scheduled tour. There was no one there to meet me or greet me. When I go the ticket entrance, I couldn’t even get in, was told by the two people at the door that the Duomo was closed and I would have to contact my tour company. 3. I call back 5 times using the number that called me initially, no answer. I want a full refund and an apology. I’m sure the tour company knew the Duomo was closing at a specific time in advance.

Get up to that rooftop!

There was so much history and architecture at the Duomo, and the big epic finale was when we were taken up to the rooftop. We had tried to time the tour to hopefully end near sunset time, and though we missed it (not a big deal), it was also great to see the start of the night lift below. Jose was a great guide, he invited and answered questions, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
