What To Expect

After meeting your guide at the Ambrosian Library in the center of Milan, put on your headset so that you can hear about the history of the places you visit. Expect to be wowed by the guide's historical anecdotes about the amazing works of Leonardo da Vinci. Then go in to see the Atlantic Codex, the largest collection of Da Vinci drawings on the planet. Let your guide lead you through the exhibit and learn about how this 12-volume set of late-15th/early-16th-century drawings and writings were created in mirror images.

Linger for a while at the Atlantic Codex and then walk through Milan with your guide and group, taking in the elaborate buildings and the charming streets. Once at the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, start a guided tour. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed church and Dominican convent was built in the late 15th century. After seeing much of the church, head into the erstwhile dining hall of the convent where Da Vinci's masterpiece, The Last Supper, is. Thanks to your skip-the-line ticket, breeze right in.

Enjoy the iconic painting and be sure to view it from a distance. Seeing it in the context of the fact that it's in a dining hall adds another level of intrigue and appreciation to the work. After your allotted time is finished, exit through the gift shop where the tour concludes.

Please note: reservations to see The Last Supper are limited and sell out quickly, sometimes months in advance. Choose this tour to be guaranteed advance booking and entrance tickets.

Good option for when there are no tickets available to see the Last Supper on your own
jessica_b, Oct 2022
It’s a shame that the tour operators buy up all of the tickets to see The Last Supper so that unless you plan WAY ahead there is no way to see it on your own. That said, this tour was good. Would have rather paid 1/3 the price and gone on my own though.
Multiple tours with the same exact name running at the same time. We missed our tour
Melissa_S, Sep 2022
We signed up for the tour along with several friends we are traveling with and unfortunately since the name of the tour was identical and left at the same time we were in a different group than our friends at a different meeting place. After severs failed attempts we could not find our guide. The guide is not to blame he called me several times to try to arrange a meeting place so that we could catch up. Unfortunately it was too late. Viator should be more clear in their literature that they run several trips with the exact same name and start time.
Informative and excellent tour and guide

Our guide was Beatrice. Her fud if knowledge was excellent and she presented the information in an interesting and engaging manner. Excellent tour.

Guide Massimo was fabulous. He brought Leonardo DaVinci to life. I wish I could take him with me on every tour.
The last supper

Great guide! Really knew what he was talking about and had lots of great insight. I definitely recommend it to a friend
Not what we signed up for
Susan_C, Oct 2021
We originally signed up for just the Last Supper tour but it was cancelled and Viator put us in this tour which included La Scala museum (but we already purchased opera tickets, so a bit unnecessary) and the Duomo (we had been two days prior). So most was redundant. We skipped the Duomo and met our group at the Last Supper. Not happy to have paid so much and missed half of what was to have been included in the tour we wanted. And our guide wasn’t in the top 10 of guides we’ve had on previous tours.
Go, take this tour

Great guide and beautiful venues. The Last Supper is amazing and receiving information about it makes it even better
Late Day Tour is worth it!
Nancy_B, Aug 2021
The most memorable parts of our tour was seeing The Last Supper up close and the Duomo (our tour spots were changed because of a scheduling issue). We preferred seeing La Scala, the Duomo and The Last Supper in our tour, but enjoyed all the extra details about da Vinci. Honestly, we booked this tour because it was one of the later ones in the day where we could still see the Last Supper. Our small group of 3 were all in the 60-70+ age group. We didn't have any major mobility issues so this tour worked for us. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and provided interesting details about each location we visited. He spoke good English and was very nice. He even went above and beyond to help a family who had left a personal item behind. Our tour was changed because of a scheduling issue with a venue so instead of all da Vinci locations, we saw La Scala, The Galleria, The Duomo, and The Last Supper. We actually preferred this lineup since we were only in Milan for less than a day. It was all wonderful and the only thing that I had issue with, was that since our tour was rescheduled, the App reminders were not. This created confusion. Our updated tour was bumped up an hour (from 4pm to 3pm) which was only mentioned once in the original email about the change. From that point forward, all reminders from the App were for the original time (4pm) which conflicted with another tour we had already booked, so 4pm was the time we thought this tour began. During all our travels in Italy, noticing this important detail had escaped me. At 3pm the tour company did call me and ask if we were coming, which we then had to cut our other tour short. Our other tour guide helped us quickly get to the Zani Viaggi visitor center where we found our tour group had already left. The helpful woman there gave us our receivers and earphones (and a map), then we set out to catch up to the group at La Scala (imagine a Keystone cops or Benny Hill clip). We weren't sure about where we were, but finally made it to La Scala after asking the locals and turned on our receivers. Sure enough, we heard our guide's voice and then they appeared across the street. He had stopped to wait for us and we joined the group. He was very gracious. Once we were all together, we went inside La Scala and viewed all the interesting museum rooms, then the gorgeous lobby, the opera boxes and the grand stage. It was very hot and humid in the museum plus there are quite a few stairs to climb up and down which would be a challenge to any with mobility issues. Next we went across the street to the da Vinci piazza, then on to the Galleria. Our tour guide explained all the architecture, the design and the artwork. Then onward to the Duomo and the square. We waited for about 10 minutes as he went to get our Duomo tickets then he took us inside and gave us very interesting insights on the secrets, architecture and artwork in the Duomo. We then walked through the square again but this time to a double-decker tour bus which whisked us to the site of the Last Supper(about a 10-15 min ride). We were able to plug in our earphones to bus recording and heard some interesting Milan history on the way. Once at the church where The Last Supper is located, we waited for our time (the entrance times are EXACT) plus waited for some separated tour members to arrive then they divided us into two groups (15 people are the maximum per group) to go inside to see The Last Supper. I observed since our tour time here is exact, then if you have to miss part of the tour, you can still meet up and join the tour to see the Last Supper. Note-you are REQUIRED to put your handbags and backpacks in a free locker(with lock) before you are allowed in. At that point it's all a bit harried to get a locker, stuff it and lock it, but the church is very strict about this. Phones and cameras are allowed inside. Then you are ushered into a waiting area for your tour time. Our tour was at the end of the day and we got to see some monks walking through the interior garden as we waited to go inside. You are given 15 minutes per group to view the frescos and then you must leave before the next group is allowed inside. There's nothing wrong with this and they explain why. This part of the tour though, our guide is not allowed inside. Silence is required and no one can speak, so any insight about da Vinci's masterpiece will be through your own making. I didn't see any audio tour rentals available. It is air conditioned in this space, which was refreshing, and there are a few pews to sit and contemplate. Upon leaving, I'd recommend BEFORE you go through the exit gates, your turn and go to the bookshop and toilets as there are no other bathrooms outside the gates (we went through the exit, but they let us back in when we asked). Once outside the gates, you can go back to the cloak room to retrieve your bags from the locked lockers (remember your security lock code and locker number!) The tour is now over and you hand in your receivers to the guide then you are on your own to get wherever you need to go. There is a taxi stand a few blocks away where you can get a ride. If you had already purchased tickets on the double decker bus tour, then you can probably wait for the next bus since it is hop on/hop off. It's a well run tour with friendly people, so don't hesitate to book it!
Terrible Experience
Anthony_I, Jul 2021
Up to the day before our scheduled tour, we received emails from Viator reminding us of the great tour that we were about to enjoy. But on the day before our tour, we received an email from Viator advising us that "because of limitations imposed by Covid", Viator could not honor our entry into the Last Supper. Viator then tried to have us do an alternative tour, but we had already seen everything in the alternative tour during a prior visit to Milan. So Viator agreed to cancel our scheduled tour; and we assume that we will receive a full refund. We also advised Viator of other days that we would be available if they could rebook our tour, but we never heard back from them. We then went on line to the official web site for booking a visit to the Last Supper on our own; there were numerous days and times available and we easily booked a visit with a very good free tour guide download.
Beautiful and historic. Preservation should continue on the painting.
Karl_v, Jul 2021
The church and the painting are fantastic. Our guide was helpful and very informative of the history of Milan and the works of Leonardo.
Worth every penny!

I booked a tour several months ago “Grand Milan Tour” that’s supposed to include the Last Supper but the tour ended at the La Scala without the Last Supper! I know the tickets for the Last Supper sell out months in advance but fortunately I got 4 tickets for the same day! It’s a timed ticket for 15 minutes with a tour group and it was memorable.
Moving Masterpiece/Great Guide

Freda, our guide was very knowledgable and so enthusiastic! She shared the process of fresco painting and with her exciting voice really brought us into the actual creation of the art. Her presentations were lively and really added so much to the experience.
The Last Supper Plus...

The tour includes a visit to an excellent museum and tickets to the last supper that are so hard to get. Fedra our guide was outstanding.
Interesting but long
Cindyattrip, Nov 2019
This is a 3 hr tour with great detail about daVinci. If you are an artist or art historian you will love it, but for layperson it was too much. But seeing The Last Supper was worth the time.
Must see this with skip the line and tour guide!
Patricia_T, Oct 2019
Fedra was our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and made this an awesome tour! I highly recommend this.
Leonardo da Vinci's Art

Lorella gave a great tour of the Ambrosian Library where Leonardo da Vinci's drawings and artwork are displayed, and then to Santa Maria delle Grazie whose refectory houses the Last Supper. We highly recommend this tur.
Leonardo with Ferda
MadameRosie516, Oct 2019
We had a tour of the museum and a walking tour of Milan on the way to the Last Supper. Ferda was very passionate about the topic and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We learned so much about Leonardo and who he was. Ferda was funny, knowledgeable and even held up traffic so we could cross the street safely. Loved it.
Not correct description of tour
Go289241, Oct 2019
Its not really a walking tour of Milan. It's an hour in a small museum then a short walk with no real significance sites, then a half hour wait to be really to go in for your 15 minute Last Supper viewing
