Our Pick up service takes place in the center of Milan (if option selected) The bus takes approximately one hour to Pick up all of the passengers, subject to traffic conditions and the number of passengers booked for that particular tour. For this reason, pick up times are shown as an interval “Starting from 6:00” means that we will pick up you at your hotel at 6:00 or after in order to be in time for the beginning of the tour.

What To Expect

Spend a day in 'La Serenissima,' the city of bridges and canals, on this action-packed guided day trip to Venice from Milan. After meeting with your host in the center of Milan, hop in a comfortable coach for the 2.5-hour ride. During the journey, learn about the history of Venice or just gaze out the window at the Northern Italian countryside.

Arrive in Venice and get ready for an informative guided 2-hour walking tour. Amble over bridges and along canals. Stand in front of Renaissance palaces and learn their history. Take in the aromas of delicious Venetian fare wafting out of restaurants. Stroll along Riva degli Schiavoni, one of the city's main promenades, and then pass by the legendary Bridge of Sighs connected to the Doge's Palace. Let your guide regale you with tales of the doges of centuries past, as you perambulate into St. Mark's Square.

Stop for some photos in the pigeon-filled square. Stand in front of St. Mark's Basilica, noting its intricate facade. And don't forget to gaze up at the bell tower, a symbol of Venice. Then make your way through the narrow streets again, going over the famed Rialto Bridge, continuing along the Grand Canal to admire the grand mansions that flank the canal.

Visit some lesser-known hidden gems in Venice too! Explore the calli, a maze-like warren of narrow lanes and canals and learn about what life is like here for locals.

Take a break for lunch (at own expense) and then visit a glass-making workshop near St. Marks Square to witness skilled glassmakers plying their trade. After browsing in the gift shop and considering taking a souvenir back to Milan with you, head out on the narrow streets again, making your way for the optional 30-minute gondola ride (at your own expense) through the canals of the city. If you opt for the gondola, hop on the flat-bottomed boat, sit back and enjoy the only-in-Venice ambience.

When the time comes, return to your coach and begin the journey back to Milan.

I chose the option to be picked up at the hotel. It went smoothly. The tour guides name was Salvatore and he was wonderful! Very nice, helpful, and spoke English well enough for me to understand him. This was my first tour through Viator and Will absolutely use them again! I absolutely loved Venezia!! I wish we had more time to explore there. I will definitely go back!!

Enjoyable and informative experience

The live demonstration of glass-making techniques has to be the highlight of the trip and a must see. The speed, accuracy and dexterity needed in order to create art in the form of glass is on a wholly another level. Although not included, I recommend also signing up for the Gondola ride. It was a calming and beautiful experience, something that is worth doing at least once in a lifetime. Overall, the trip was enjoyable and well worth it. The guides were well informed and made the long drive enjoyable, with all kinds of information and fun facts of the areas we were passing through. We also had plenty of time between activities to roam around the streets of Venice in order to do some sightseeing and shopping by ourselves.

I wouldn’t recommend first of all no clear instructions on how to find this bloody place we went in many circles not just us but many others wondering about looking for the place indicated where to meet it was crazy till we noticed the coach bus. this trip was very boring especially with this company. The Tour guide was extremely boring no enthusiasm it was like he was just this for the sake of doing it .. The gondola ride was 25 euros extra Which we opted for. While on the Gondola ride I was taking pics the ride was bumpy my iPhone dropped into one of the canals the horrible Rider just laughed instead of helping me and asked me to wave goodbye at it. When we got off the ride we tried to talk to tour guide he showed no empathy no remorse didn’t give a damn and no care at all. We felt awful in the end my husband and I we decided my younger son and I went back to Milan while they spoke to firefighters and I got to retrieve my phone in perfect condition. It’s a pity the tour company take zero interest and make this trip super boring I’m sure had I chosen another company would’ve been so much fun like the other trips we did with Viator. I wouldn’t recommend this tour company at all no clear instructions given so people beware before you book. They organize rides with some crazy gondola riders who take a good laugh at you for loosing your items and they don’t even show no concern or remorse which makes you feel more humiliated. never again

Do yourself a favour and DIY by train

did this tour on a Sunday. I’d originally wanted to catch a train to Venice from Milan and do my own trip but then thought a guided tour would be more convenient. I wish I had taken the train. From pick up the guide was angry and rude to everyone. He was disrespectful to the attendees,issuing commands and speaking with us as though we were children. It was a shame because he was knowledgeable but the attitude was so poor that no one wanted to ask questions. He yelled at one family attending In such a shocking manner. Given how expensive the tour is, it was simply unacceptable. He didn’t want to be there. He didn’t care that this was a first visit to Venice for most of the people booked on the tour. In short he ruined the trip. I wouldn’t recommend this tour. You’re better off reading up On Venice and a DIY tour. And to you Eddie all I can say is do yourself and everyone visiting your country a favour and find another job.

Would suggest that two pick up points but more so drop off as it is nearly 8 pm on return - ie the Milano central station would be a good option

Exceptional day trip which was well organised. The bus ride was a little long due to traffic but it was a great day out overall!! I encourage you to purchase the Gondola ride through the organisers on the bus as it aids the day and time you have on your own whilst you are in Venice. Great shopping around the square too.

Apart from the coach ride which is about 3.5 hours both ways, the boat ride to Venice was nice and refreshing. We had a local guide to bring us around for a couple of hours and had another 3 hours to explore on our own (cause we skipped the glass-blowing part). the day trip took about 14 hours in all. Our tickets stated pick up and drop off at the hotel but we were told when we arrived back in the agent's office at 930pm that there is no drop off back at the hotel provided. However, the very kind coach driver offered to take us back to the central station which is near our hotel. The day spent was tiring but all worth it!
