What To Expect

Your Sea Car experience starts in Monterey, at a hotel near Fisherman’s Wharf. With recorded narration and the flexibility to zip down the streets of Monterey and out to the coast, your 2-seater Sea Car is easy to drive and park and provides a great way to sightsee independently.

Choose to make your own adventure, or follow a predetermined route. The planned itinerary takes you past the historical buildings of Monterey, Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row and the park and beach at Lovers Point. With the open convertible top, you can admire views of the Pacific, harbor, sand dunes and cypress trees, plus stop to watch for marine life like otters and seals.

Drivers must be 20 years of age or older and must present a valid driver's license
Minimum age is 4 years; children must be accompanied by an adult
All renters must be able to read, understand and sign a liability release and waiver form
Maximum weight is 400 lbs (180 kg) per car; each rider must be under 200 lbs (90 kg) or drive their own car
Maximum passenger height is 6 feet 3 inches (190 cm)

One member of each group must present a credit card and government-issued ID; this information will only be used in the case of damage or loss of property

Dunebuggy trip.

Fear for our lives stuck in left lane in tunnel. We never would've booked this to be in traffic. The service provider was nice. I just thought the outing was dangerous and unpleasant.

Zooming through the crazy traffic and experiencing the Monterey views through the row sea car tour for the first time, definitely an experience I won’t ever forget. Best customer service from Worker who was very humble and understanding of the traffic Situation and professional in making sure we were taken care of And most importantly safe. 10/10 would recommend

"No need to be rude and lie. Anytime any type of instruction was given you were asked if you had any questions, you would say no. If you would have asked, I would had gladly repeated myself. I also did had to wait on your group as you had to use the restroom. When you did return from your tour with smiles on your faces, I asked if there was anything and you said no besides the car swaying a bit. So please do us a favor and if you have an issue address it at the moment. Do not hide behind a screen and bash single mothers who are making a living and have to struggle at times and bring their children to work. It's not my fault you can't hear. Manager Martha

We rented 4 cars one of the cars the brakes from the bottom fell off so no rear brakes worse part it was just dragging had to wait for them to trade out it really broke up the trip …..alittle disappointing

Great views of ocean boulevard from the sea car but otherwise very uncomfortable ride, difficult steering and hard to hear anything from the pre-programmed speaker because the sea car is so loud.

Cars were not clean. Got topped off with gas right before. Got to smell gas the entire 20 minutes we used them. GPS didn’t work we were given a blue tooth speaker to connect to our phones that also didn’t work. Had to be looking at my phone the entire time wasn’t able to enjoy any of it so we decided to turn around and turn it back in early. We were not happy with the adventure. We have done this in San Francisco and we enjoyed it very much definitely recommend there.

Picture makes it look like you are go driving out on the beach. Sorry these can’t go off road, they can only stay on the regular Street. So there you are doing about 25 mph while all the cars around you are doing 40 or better. I found it difficult to drive without prior motorcycle experience. You cannot hear the tablet. Decided to stop early and head back as we were hating every moment. Followed what directions we could hear on the tablet and got totally lost. I would not recommend this.

I have to question your level of intelligence, our web site is very clear on what to expect, there are several video clips showing what your experience will be. No where in Monterey are you allowed to drive on the beach! The driving could not be easier or simpler it’s automatic it is nothing even close to riding a motorcycle! You should consider staying at home or sticking to Disneyland type of adventures!
