A very personalized experience with a knowledgeable guide

My husband and I had an awesome full day experience with May. She was very knowledgeable and personable. Our tour was totally customized to meet our interests and adding and excluding based on our requests. We walked, talked, ate, learned the history of the city, the buildings, shopped, rested, and walked some more. We were thrilled with the 18,000 steps journey through the old town, waterfront, underground, China town, university area and locals shopping district.

City Unscripted should be removed from Viator and give us our money back

It sucked so bad we left it after 2 hours and asked for our money back. First they sent a profile sheet of what we wanted to see, We said history, architecture the origins of the city through modern times. They sent a note introducing us to a guide then a day later a new guide with a great profile, native Montreal with great reviews. He doesn't show and after waiting, calling get a women from who did not read our interests, askes us what we want we tell her. Didn't tell us anything about the history, founding, roots, shipping trading etc. She takes us on the Metro, going to see some shrine, gets the transfer wrong we have to turn around, shows us some movie forum. Walks us through a crap neighborhood up by McGill University. Know nothing about McGIll - history, who founded etc. Walks us to the Museum of Modern are - -how is that a historic tour. I don't want to go in and she accuses us of changing our minds. Walks us in a big circle we ask how old some buildings are she says very old. Ask her about a monument we saw righ outside the metro, doesn't know what it is. Ask her about the "shrine" - all I can get is it's an old Roman Catholic Church nothing about why it's historic. Montreal only has 50+ churches you'd think there would be a reason. After 2 hours of learning nothing seeing nothing. She told me I must be exhausted from walking, I walk over 5 miles a day, not even tired. I told her I was exhausted from her total lack of Knowledge about anything in Montreal, called an Uber and bailed. Only regret is I didn't do that soone - after the complete screw up on the Metro it was obvious she did not know the city well at all. We caught a 1/5 hour $25 walking tour of the old city and learned more in 10 minutes than 2 hours with this tour. They should be removed from Viator. We have used Viator dozens of times, not all great but at least competent. This place should have just cancelled us and said sorry so we could have done something more with our time. By far the worst tour I ever experienced, if you can even call it that.
