Dineh Bekeyah Tours

This tour is a custom tour and are not necessarily in the order below. Each guide has their own itinerary and have a specific place and time to be throughout the tour.  The 3 hour tour makes a stop at the famous John Ford’s Point where many of John Wayne’s western cinematic movies were film, and also the Transformers: Age of Extinction featuring Mark Wahlberg. Next, your guide will drive to The Backcountry of the park and escort you to the arches.  At “Sun’s Eye Arch” you will be standing at a specific degree to look up into the rock arch and see why it is named Sun’s Eye. At the same location you will also see Petroglyphs and hear your guide’s stories. You will also travel to the “Big Hogan.” The Big Hogan is a great place to take family pictures and lie against the rocks and feel its warmth. Your guide will provide stories and suggest great photo shots. In the Backcountry is the “Ear of the Wind.” This is the largest arch in the park, and your guide will escort you to a photogenic spot where you can take photographs. You will be guided to the Totem Pole and Yei Bi Cheii Monuments where you will be able to take photographs and hear the cultural stories behind each monument. Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel, then get ready for a scenic drive to Monument Valley in a comfortable all-terrain vehicle— allowing for exclusive access to parts of the park that are inaccessible to smaller cars. The area, located on a Navajo Reservation and considered a sacred healing region by Native American tribes, is tough to navigate on your own. But your guide will walk you through the history of the Navajo tribal park and the background of each stunning natural formation. With your choice of a sunrise or sunset tour, you’re bound for incredible, camera-ready views during the sun-kissed time of day known by photographers as the “Golden Hour.” The itineraries are fully customizable, so you’ll have your pick of some incredible spots, including iconic rock formations like John Ford’s Point, which served as film backdrop in many John Wayne Westerns. One of the most photographed formations is the Yei Bi Chei monuments, which resemble a line of tribal dancers. You’ll also get an opportunity to take pictures of the Big Hogan, a sandstone cave chamber, and Ear of the Wind, a mesmerizing, crimson-hued arch. At the North Window where you will have a chance to take pictures of the Mittens and Butte at different angles. Your tour guide will then slowly and safely transport you back to your departure point.

Wonderful Expetience!
Randall_M, Mar 2023
Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the area, knew all the best places, and made our experience both meaningful and far more interesting than I expected. I knew the landscape would be beautiful, and it was, but our guide’s willingness to answer our questions and offer so much of the culture of the valley made our trip exceptional. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour with a fantastic guide. Our guide, John was knowledgeable, entertaining and at times very funny. His flute playing at the eagle eye spot was incredible. Only knock is the directions given by the tour company to locate the meeting point. Took a little while to locate and 3 employees at the View Hotel had no idea where the meetup point was.
Magnificent experience

Jameson our guide was amazing! So informative, patient and kind. We learned so much about the culture while enjoying the magnificent surroundings.
pick THIS tour!!!

WOW. Words cannot describe how incredible this tour was. Seeing Monument Valley has been my dad's dream for years. He was excited, this well exceeded all expectations he had. Our tour guide Lee was fantastic, he knew all the best spots for the best photos and timed moving from location to location with the sunrise seamlessly. We never felt rushed. Lee helped my dad with settings on his Nikon camera to get the best photos, and also helped my mom and I with unique photos, views and photo settings with our phone cameras. 10/10 would recommend this tour!! Also, since I was confused: here is my recommendation for timing. When booking, there were multiple options (6, 6:30, 7) with sunrise at about 7:20 AM the day we went. We chose 6 AM, and we got the beautiful pre-sunrise glow in pictures. I would recommend booking at least 1 hour before sunrise to help get you in position for those once in a lifetime photos.
Fantastic Morning.

Mother Natures Great!
Jin_C, Nov 2022
We learned our hidden history for the cultural inheritance of the Navajo Indians. It is magnificent and amazing scenery!
Definitely worth it!
Yunji_S, Nov 2022
My family and I joined the 6:00 AM sunrise tour in mid-November and it was a wonderful experience! Harry was a friendly guide who knew to bring us around the site efficiently and made sure we don’t miss any spots with proper light/sun location. He also knew many spots for unique photos, which added so much more to this tour. It was pretty cold when it was still dark, so proper outfit will be crucial. We rode SUV instead of an open jeep, which we appreciated since we could stay warm between stops.
Don’t miss out on a life changing sunrise!
Kate_R, Nov 2022
Without a doubt I would recommend going on the 6 am sunrise tour. Getting to see the light creep back into the valley is a magical and spiritual experience. Our tour guide Harry nez took us to many sites you would never see without going on this tour. He was warm, friendly and easy to talk to. He has a professional eye for taking pictures and is happy to take some of you. Jump at the chance to get to know this beautiful land more intimately.

Great Tour Guide - Lee
Melissa_S, Nov 2022
The tour started late due to them not knowing the number of guests. However, the tour guide Lee more than made up for it. He was knowledgeable and so helpful to ensure we all got the BEST photos.
Dineh Bekeyah and Charlene were wonderful and I highly recommend them

Due to weather we cancelled our tour but we were still charged 50%. Our guide was supposed to meet us inside the hotel but was outside in the parking lot

Anuradha_M, Oct 2022
Your guide was good and explained the history well . The downside was we did not know where the pickup was . The brochure said back of the hotel but it was the front !! We had trouble locating the pick up .
Wonderful Experience!
Richard_O, Oct 2022
I appreciated the guide’s explanation of geology and native customs. He also placed us in the ideal positions for sunset photography.

Very good tour of Monument Valley, away from 17 mile drive. The guide was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions for photos.

It was a must have experience. We get to see places that are inaccessible to public and hear stories about the natives life. Gorgeous views especially during golden hours.
