Enjoy a private walking tour through the eerily well-preserved ancient Roman city of Herculaneum. Walk through the impressive archaeological site buried in the same volcanic eruption as Pompeii for a look at how the ancient Romans lived. See how frescoes, mosaics and even some wooden items were preserved.

Wonderful place where you can actually feel Roman life style so close. Everything is so neat and clear. Excellent work of archeologist that can show as a vivid past.

This was a great tour. Having a private guide is the best way to go. Alfredo was knowledgeable and interesting.

A private tour with our archeologist (Rafaelle) was amazing! So knowledgeable and great to have our own family tour. An experience we won't forget!

Ivan was a great tour guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He answered all of our numerous questions with precision. The town of Herculaneum itself is absolutely amazing. The level of preservation is mind blowing. I highly recommend that you visit!

We had a mesmerizing two hours with our fabulous tour guide Sylvia, herself an archeologist. Highly recommend—honestly cannot imagine experiencing the site any other way.
Highly recommend

We had a private tour with Sergio who was excellent. Very informed and passionate. This is a great place - the excavated buildings are more intact than Pompeii and there were far fewer people though this was a great, quieter time of year for both places. We did an afternoon tour as we did Pompeii in the morning. All doable but I would have liked to have spent a bit longer here. Well worth getting a guide though.

Thank you so much Susan, Sergio is a great guide and we're happy he managed to share his passion with you. Come back to visit Herculaneum with us!

We did the 2 hour private tour which was well worth it and just the right amount of time.
Our guide Luciano was excellent. He knew everything there is to know about the site and it truly passionate about his work.
The sight is much more preserved than Pompeii and is smaller.
You can get the train here from Sorrento and Pompeii which is the cheapest way to travel. The station is approx 10-15mins walk.

Absolutely fabulous tour with a guide who was passionate about excavation and Herculaneum. He brought it to life, took us through a typical day at the sea resort, discussed life style, and the fabulous architecture. It was a perfect day.

I loved this tour! it was one of the highlights of our holiday in Italy. The guide Chiara was the best, you could see she studied it all and that she really enjoyed it. We asked her a lot of questions and she never seemed to mind. She was really the best! Thank you for a life time experience!

This was a great tour. We would highly recommend Herculaneum, with Paolo as a guide. We were very hot and tired when we began the tour, and I did not think I would last long. But Paolo was so engaged with his subject, and so engaging, that we enjoyed every minute. As an archeologist himself, he has a depth of knowledge and interest that could not be matched.

Gian Carlo was an excellent guide. He brought the Herculaneum to life and was incredibly knowledgable on the whole area. I really enjoyed every moment of the tour.
