What To Expect

Begin your trip at your selected departure point, either at your Naples hotel or the Naples train station. Then, hit the streets for a coach tour of the vibrant southern city. Pass through the main square of Piazza del Plebiscito to see San Francesco di Paola church.

Explore the Royal Palace of Naples on foot, home to the Bourbon Kings in the 18th and 19th centuries. Then step inside the Naples Cathedral and hear the fascinating story behind the miracle of the blood, where a vial from the city's patron saint is brought out twice a year. Top off your city tour with a visit to the Posillipo quarter, gazing out at the Bay of Naples.

Hop back aboard your coach and relax on the brief ride along the coast toward Pompeii. Enjoy a break to purchase lunch before beginning your guided tour around the largest archaeological site in Europe.

See the Thermal Baths, the Forum, and the Lupanare brothel, all buried by volcanic ash, and learn more about how this ancient city was destroyed by the infamous Mt. Vesuvius eruption in AD 79.

After wandering the ruins with your guide, your tour concludes with transportation back to Naples.

The guide is not good. They are not enough to guide us in both cities. They just tried to quit this tour as much as they could.

This tour should be retitled "The Very Best of Naples and Pompeii!" Elisa and our driver Rogario gave us a tour that exceeded the standard official tour description. This tour was absolutely worth the cost, and we would take this same tour again with this team! They took us to historical sites in Naples and Pompeii, telling us the rich history and color behind each moment and experience. Elisa is fluent in English (and other languages), so we were always comfortable with the presentation. Her storytelling skills are top-notch! We learned many new things and relearned things we thought we already knew! She painted the history of San Gennaro, Naples, and Pompeii in a way that made us feel that we understood the lives of the people who lived it. Pompeii was spectacular! She showed us the essential parts of Pompeii and explained the history and story so we could put ourselves in that day and time. The tour group was small enough that we were not overwhelmed, and we had headsets to hear Elisa in Pompeii. We were picked up and dropped off exactly as agreed upon. This was a perfect way to see the best of Naples and to get to see Pompeii. This tour exceeded our expectations!

The way the guides were knowledgeable about the Naples City and Pompeii. They told you about all the different building and what they were used for.

What we expected and what we received were different. The pick up was great then we were transferred to a van where we drove to a different location and had to sit in the van and wait for 20+ minutes for another group to come. When the guide and others arrived, she was very good and spoke in Italian and English. We went to a large beautiful church, and then drove to a lovely look out point. She did share info as we drove through the town but that was the extent of the city tour. We then drove to another area to gather up more people before heading to Pompeii. After arriving we were told we were being assigned to another guide and another group. This guide was entertaining but the tour felt rushed and limited. We had hoped for a more in-depth experience. They told us to visit the National Archeological Museum in Naples.

Great tour- in the beginning it was a bit confusing because our driver did not speak English very well- but after he picked up our guide, the tour was great. She went out of her way to make sure we learned the history of some of the sites and to share her city. The tour of Pompeii was amazing.

City tour and Pompeii were really good and we had a small group for the city part. Good communication from tour guide about pickup. Only problem was this booking said the experience was done at 1 but we didn’t get back to our hotel until 2:40. The tour ended at 1:15 and then we had free time at Pompeii. This should just be corrected in the listing because it could mess up some with tight schedules.

The Naples tour was informative. The only issue was that the tourguide had to split her time between the English group and the French. So we were not able to ask questions as much as we would have liked to. Then we were passed on to a different guide in a Pompeii who seemed informative but kept repeating the same info multiple times. We changed groups 2x so it felt like we were being juggled. The entire tour could have been more organized.

Elisa, our guide, was knowledgeable and conducted and efficient tour. Our driver picked us up and then she joined us a few streets over. We started with visiting the cathedral, then we went to the top of the city to a view point, took photos there and then to Pompeii.

The tour was broken up into 2 halves. First half was a tour of Naples and our tour guide was warm, fun, informed, and passionate. We loved her and our time together. Second half was of Pompeii. Pompeii itself was interesting, but it seemed like our guide was there more to make a paycheck vs provide us a great learning experience.

This tour was really excellent. We made 2 main stops in Naples as well as received a driving tour in between the two stops. At the second stop our tour guide recommended getting a hazelnut coffee that was to die for. After the Naples stops we went to Pompeii. Our tour guide changed in Pompeii. The tour was done really well. My only complaint is that the radios we were given to hear the tour guide better cut out if you got about 30 feet away from the tour guide which is an easy distance to reach in a big tour group. Once we noticed the problem we just stayed closer to the tour guide and the issue was resolved. Overall this was a really terrific tour

The tour was very disorganized. We wasted so much time zigzagging through Naples when we could avoided most of the traffic and saved time if the guide had been thoughtful about where we were going. We loved the tour in Pompeii, she was knowledgeable and considerate of our time. Leaving Pompeii was an absolute nightmare. When people come on a cruise we have to be back at a certain time. The tour said it ended at 1pm, but we sat until almost 2:15pm while they found us a bus to get back to port. We missed a second tour we had booked. I would not recommend this mess to anyone.

Long walk from port terminal to tour vehicle then had to meet other passengers and vehicles. Two different guides as our guide was needed for a French speaking group. Pompeii tour was informative and excellent. Naples tour was okay, city is dirty. Drop off quite a distance away (half mile) from cruise terminal. This was difficult for those of us who have difficulty walking.
