Traveler Tips

Make sure you get an early night and put comfy shoes on as this is quite a long day, however it is honestly excellent and the staff are extremely informative and knowledgeable.
Pick one or the other of these destinations, not the combination.
As a family of 3 with only 3 days holiday in and around Naples, organised excursions are a vital way of getting someone else to do the leg work and make our holiday enjoyable.

Good but not fabulous
Lori_A, Nov 2022
Terry was great, we loved her Capri tour and we’re so glad she planned that to be in the morning. Terry took us to Pompeii where Franco took over. Franco was very knowledgeable but was soft spoken and difficult to hear. I had been to Pompeii before but it was my husband’s first time, I was disappointed that we didn’t see several important areas like the ancient restaurant and other daily life experiences in Pompeii. Whisper ear buds would have made this entire tour much better. Long day!
Total disaster

Re booking reference: 924897306 Worldtours Naples left without us at the cruise port in spite of many messages and us waiting at the meeting spot. We were the first passengers off our cruise ship when it was cleared at 8:10 am. We ran to the meeting spot for our tour only to find no one from Worldtours there. I sent 3 messages through the Viator app - nothing. I then googled the phone number for Worldtours Naples and called them. I was told the group had left. There was physically no way for us to have gotten to the meeting spot any quicker. I would like a full refund for our ruined day in Naples.
Fast paced Tour for cruisers.
Brooks_M, Oct 2022
Both experiences were awesome. Unfortunately we were rushed because the cruise ship changed our on board time to 30 mins earlier. The girls did a good job of assuring us this would happen. Pickup from the cruise terminal was smooth and our main tour guide was sweet. My recommendation is if you want a taste of both activities this is the one. If you want more in depth info on Pompeii, which was very interesting, then choose a different one.
PERFECT best of both worlds tour! Capri & Pompeii
Leah_S, Oct 2022
Serene was an EXCELLENT guide. We had the best time at Capri and Pompeii. We booked the VIP tour and had alone time in the beautiful Capri after Serena showed us all the spots and gave us tips we needed. Then we went to Pompeii and were with one other couple. We had a LOVELY guide in pompeii who was hilarious. This tour was perfect for our short weekend trip and best of both worlds. Would 1000% recommend.
Great day from Naples

Teresa was an excellent guide. The the experience was amazing. The history and sites were very informative.
Too long to do together. Choose only one.
Leticia_G, Oct 2022
My advice is not doing the two things together. It is a long excursion. Capri was ok and the views were incredible but the ferry to arrive there was old, full of people and the waves to big that the ferry moved a lot and made a lot of people sick. So it was a small group in land, but at the ferry, there was a lot of people. Pompei was impressive, it was my second time there. I loved this part if the tour.
10/10 - Amazing Had such a great time
Christina_C, Oct 2022
We had a fantastic time, our guide Antonio for Pompeii was amazing and our tour guide for the bus trip and Capri Serena was amazing super helpful for all aspects of Capri and tips for the rest of our holiday aswell would go back again
Don’t do it
Misha_S, Sep 2022
This trip started off lovely with a tour of Pompeii. Even though the weather was rainy and foggy, our tour guide was amazing and very efficient. We learned so much. Other than that, because it was so rainy and foggy, ferry’s from the port to Capri we’re getting canceled with no guarantee of returning. Many other passengers besides my group were also concerned. The tour operator let us know that our ferry was scheduled to depart at 12:40. Due to traffic because of the bad weather, our bus missed this ferry. She let us know that if we wanted to cancel the rest of the trip there would be no refunds. She also let us know there weren’t any additional CONFIRMED ferries, but she would try to get the 2pm ferry. Why would we continue waiting in the rain and terrible conditions if there is nothing confirmed? We weren’t even sure if we’d make it back from Capri the same day due to the weather conditions if we went on the ferry to begin with. The tour operator said that we would not be able to see anything or do anything besides sit in a cafe AND we would possibly have to spend the night in Capri if our return ferry got canceled. We all collectively decided to get off the bus as there was no confirmed rescheduled boat to take us there or back. She tried to keep us on the bus to sign a paper she created saying WE canceled the rest of the tour. And they refuse to give our refunds for the remainder of the tour. Book with another company please!
Nightmare experience.
Tracie_F, Sep 2022
Horrible experience. Do not book with this company!!! Tour was changed from private to “small group” by the tour company one hour after the 24 hour cancellation policy. We were assured it would be small group with and English speaking guide and we would still be able to skip the long waiting lines etc. It was a huge group that spoke four different languages and most of them didn’t have tickets, so there was no line skipping and a lot of wasted time as our “tour guide” had to explain everything in four languages. We picked-up our tour guide, Josephina, at the second van stop of about 6 stops. The van wasn’t air conditioned and we sat in traffic waiting for her for 45 minutes. She spoke very little English. At Pompeii we were handed off to the tour expert for the Pompeii ruins. He didn’t have headsets for any of us. He was expecting a small group, but there were so many of us that unless you were right next to him you couldn’t hear any of what he was saying. He was pretty good and did the best he could with the situation, but he was very frustrated. Since we were so late getting to Pompeii, we literally ran through the tour and had to skip any sites where there were lines. Once we were thru with our tour expert we we were handed back to our tour guide Josephina who was taking personal calls while we waited for her to get back into the van back to the Naples harbor to join the ferry to Capri…..Unfortunately we got the same tour guide (Josephina) for Pompeii and Capri and we’re so late from Pompeii that That we missed the ferry to Capri and had to take a later one. So we spent an hour of our tour time standing in line at the Naples harbor. In Capri Josephina mismanaged the time so badly that we were going to miss the tram from the top of the island to the last boat back to Naples; so she wanted us to take the bus to the boat dock…… we got to the bus station and the line was so long that we had to run to try to catch the tram, which we did with five minutes to spare. She kept saying this it was a disaster. Not the most reassuring words to hear from your guide. We made the ferry with five minutes to spare and were returned to the Naples dock. Josephina put us into, what she assured us was a private van back to our hotel…….and she left. Our van driver was under the influence. He was screaming Into his phone, cursing, blaring inappropriate music, screaming out the windows and was irretrievable lost. He was driving so irrationally that after he drove thru a red light, i to oncoming traffic and tried to do a U-turn onto a sidewalk filled with people, we literally jumped out of the open front door and walked 2 miles back to our hotel. Horrible experience. The tour company refused to return any calls or texts or emails. I’ve reported them to our credit card company. Do not book with them. They are truly awful.
Capri was magnificent. Pompeii could've been a lot better.
Chris_H, Aug 2022
Tour started with Capri. Our Guide was great. She was energetic, spoke very good English, and got us to Capri. Rode a cable car once on Island to reach the top, got a tour into a garden, and then we were free to explore the island on our own for a few hours. The Tour went South on the second part of the trip. Pompeii - we had an older gentleman who was our tour guide through the ruins. He spoke 4 languages. We had a mixed group of Spanish and US tourists. A group of about 15. He kept going back and forth from English to Spanish, mixing up the two. Very difficult to follow. Speaking Spanish to us and English to the Spanish tourists. Mixing us up constantly. Essentially everyone lost interest. We would've been better off exploring the campus on our own. The Pompeii tour with a guide should be for history buffs. Otherwise, explore on your own.
Enjoyed my visit to Pompeii and Capri
Yessica_N, Aug 2022
It was a great way to visit Capri and Pompeii if you have few days only to visit. I had a great time and of course there’s still so much ch to see, but the tour was what I kind of expected, visiting 2 places, but wish a small lunch had been included since it was a bit rushed.
False advertising
Zephya_W, Jul 2022
We paid for VIP small group with max 8 people. The tour operator booked extra people for Pompeii, bringing the total to 17. We lost an hour siting in a hot minibus as the bus was too small for the number of people. As the group was bigger, we were slower to move around Pompeii and there were no headsets and we couldn't hear the guide. We were given one bottle of warm water at 2.30pm after being on the tour since 8am. Very dangerous bus driver swerving across the lanes on the highway as he talked on his phone and to the guide. Bus very hot as AC not working well. We we offered a partial refund of the difference in price for the larger group , but we would not have booked this if we had known it was a larger group. We requested more refund as compensation and they haven't replied, 6 days later.
Pompeii & Capri
Pamela_K, Jul 2022
This tour went above and beyond our expectations. Capri was beautiful and welcoming. Wish we had more time there. Pompeii is much bigger and amazing than any pictures can capture or you can visualize. An iconic landmark that everyone should see.

I was at the pier at the requested time, I texted twice, called 5 times and we're told different stories. The driver never arrived.
Not worth it
Sally_H, Jul 2022
This tour was supposed to start at 8 and we met our group on time but it really didn’t start until 9. We were supposed to go to Pompeii first and then to Capri, but they switched it around. We waited in line for the boat to Capri which took 50 mins. It was so crowded being summer time and also super hot! Our guide Theresa was very nice and informative and organized however we were thrown off with the switch. Capri was beautiful but so crowded you really couldn’t do much. The stores are all high end (Chanel, Dolce etc) and the restaurants were very crowded and expensive. We didn’t have enough time to sit and eat so we grabbed a sandwich to eat while walking around. The views are gorgeous and worth seeing but not in the summer! We were also expecting to see the Blue grotto which we did not. The guide said that would take an additional 2 hours. That was on our bucket list, so again we were disappointed. When our tour got back from the boat it was already 1:30. Being a Sunday and summer the guide said the trip to Pompeii from Naples could take 2 hours with traffic (normally 45 mins). The Pompeii tour was supposed to be 2 hours ( which is barely enough time to see everything. ) We had to be back on our cruise ship at 5, so we opted to go back to our ship and skip Pompeii. We were afraid of cutting it close or not getting back in time. We had been before, but our friends hadn’t so they were disappointed, but we were all so hot and miserable from the crowds that we opted out. In the future I would choose a tour from the ship, then you are guaranteed to get back on time. Also I don’t like it when you’re not told of the changes in time, or venue ahead of time. The tour was over $150 per person, then the guide wanted to collect money for the Pompeii entrance fee. That was not mentioned in the description of the tour either. All in all a waste of time and money, but like I said the guide was very nice (from World tours) and it was not her fault. I didn’t request to get any refund, just chalked it up to a bad decision on our part.
Worth visiting but not with Viator
Shane_B, Jul 2022
I enjoyed both Pompeii and Capri equally… though was surprised that the order was reversed… The reasons for the low rating are 1) no water though it was supposed to be included 2) no commentary on journey to Pompeii 3) time for lunch rushed 4) no introduction or outline of the day
Máximo Time

Guide Guiliana was very attentive and very knowledgeable. We saw everything on time and maximize our time. Thanks for everything.
Do This!
Rachel_B, Jun 2022
Great experience! Clear meeting location! Great safe bus driver to sites. Amazing tour guide Anna at Pompeii and Terry was excellent with us all day and guiding us through Capri. Nice small group, very clear with direction. I suggest this tour!
Introduction only
Carla_G, Jun 2022
Great for getting an introduction of Capri and Pompeii. There really isn’t much time to do much. Do not expect a deep dive of either places. However if you are looking to admire the beauty and high-level history this is a great tour! More walking than anticipated. No time to rest. The guides are knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The only downside was the bus transfer to Pompeii and then back to hotel— no air conditioning.
Great fun, great guides
Aj_F, Jun 2022
Wonderful guided tour through the beautiful island of Capri and the ruins of Pompeii. Our guide, Guisy, was great at keeping our group together and getting us around throughout the day. Our Pompei guide was also funny and very intelligent on the ruins as he walked us through the main sites. Good way to see two places in one day.
