What To Expect

After pickup in Delhi by private vehicle, your day trip begins with the approximate 4-hour drive to Agra, a city located on the Yamuna River.

Your first stop is Agra Fort, a World Heritage site and Mughal architectural wonder. With your private guide, enter the 94-acre (34-hectare) brick fort, noting the mix of Islamic and Hindu influences in its design. Hear about the purposes of the various buildings such as the Hall of Private Audience (Diwan-i-Khas), Pearl Fort (Moti Masjid), Mirror Palace (Sheesh Mahal) and Hall of Public Audience (Diwan-i-Am).  

Next, enjoy a lunch of Indian dishes at a local restaurant before continuing your tour to your second World Heritage site and perhaps India’s most iconic landmark, the Taj Mahal. Built in the mid-1600s, this white marble mausoleum was commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in dedication to his wife. Learn about the Turkish, Indian and Persian architectural styles as you admire the detailed interior and exterior décor, the beautiful garden and the general magnificence of the place with your guide.

Then head to your last attraction, the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah, another mausoleum sometimes referred to as the Baby Taj, as it was one inspiration for the Taj Mahal and sits just across the river from it. Learn from your guide about the Persian influences behind the design of the tomb as you admire its stone inlay and trellis work. Your day trip then ends with the return drive to Delhi.

Hussain was an excellent tour guide. He made the tours - especially the Taj Mahal - into a show of storytelling. My favorite part is how he first has you gaze upon the Taj. What a treat!!!

Poorly organized, dis interested guide

The trip took much longer each way than the provider indicated. The driver stopped a few times for no discernible reason. Once there, the guide was checking his phone constantly and generally seemed bored or disinterested. The lunch was bland with a poor selection and quality, and the logistics were so bad we didn't see all of the sites promised and still arrived back later.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused, however we wish to mention here that we have very clearly mentioned in the description of the tour, that the duration is 12 hours. . We always advise the drivers to drive safely, especially when there is mist or fog. This tour is highly appreciated by other travelers; we are surprised to learn about your review. Even the restaurant you were taken to is very reputable and highly rated. While you had lunch at the restaurant, the driver & guide waited for you outside, so that if you decide to go to the small monument, they would take you. However, post lunch you decided to drive back to Delhi, as you felt it would get late. Just, wanted to mention here that your Start time was 8:00 am and you were back in Delhi before 7:30 pm. It was less than 12 hours. Sometimes the weather or traffic can get crazy and unfortunately we don't have control on that.

High praise to our tour guide Mr. Hussain. He offered my daughter and me a perfect tour of the Taj and the Agra Fort. We looked for a tour that did *not* include shopping and we were pleased that none was offered. The lunch buffet was very good. Our driver was prompt, however the vehicle was less than perfectly comfortable for the long drive. Nevertheless, a five-star review for the day is in order.

Great tour to an architectural wonder of the world. Driver Ashish was fantastic. He drove safely, comfortably and very professionally. Made sure plenty of cool water was available and also rest stops if required. Guide Bipul was very knowledgeable and helped guide through Taj Mahal and Agra Fort and its history. A very enjoyable trip.

Gets Holidays is an amazing tour company with a very professional and customer oriented staff. Prior to my trip, their staff provided me the contact details of my driver, Ashish and confirmed the pickup time and location. Separately, their Guest Relationship Manager, Mokshada reached out to me via Whatsapp as an alternate contact, should there by any issues during the trip. Ashish arrived on time at the hotel, and was an excellent companion, speaking good English and providing good conversation throughout the drive to Agra and back. We made a stop prior to reaching Agra, and he provided me ample time to explore shops. In Agra, we met with our Tour Guide Hussain, who provided excellent insights on the history of the Taj Mahal and its builders, as well as Agra Fort and those who lived there. It had been a good idea to book a tour guide for the trip, because it enabled a better appreciation of the places - beyond just taking pictures - to hear how these structures had been important in the lives of the people of the past, and even those present today. Because it was the middle summer, Ashish made sure that he had plenty of drinking water, keeping an icebox in his trunk. This came in handy especially towards noon, when the temperature became unbearable. A buffet lunch was included at the end of the tour, and the choice of restaurant - Pinch of Spice - was excellent, There were plenty of different Indian dishes to try, and it was a good place to wind down before the drive back. We got back to the city just in time before the evening rush hour. Mokshada also called while we were on our way back to ensure that everything was well. Overall, it was a very memorable experience. I am looking to seeing more of India, and contact Gets Holidays should I get the chance.

This was a MUST do. It was perfect to get a private guide to take you to all the great locations. While in Agra I highly recommend you stop at the Fort. Mr. Hussain was our guide and he had so much knowledge and delivered it in a way that was easy to understand and was a great storyteller.

Very nice tour, the tour includes the pick-up and drop-off from/to hotel, lunch and the all entrance fee. Our tour guide did not explain alot of the story of Taj Mahal, instead, he let us wonder around Taj Mahal freely and tell us to take our time to enjoy/experience Taj Mahal. It might be not suitable for people who like to know and to learn about Taj Mahal.

My driver, Ashish Gandhi, picked me up at precisely at 6am, and we drove 3.5 hours to Agra. Ashish was a great driver and fun to chat with. He also let me take a nap when I needed it. We met my guide, Krishna Chand Joshi, in Agra. This was a very efficient tour of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort well coordinated on car pickup, Tuk Tuk use, etc. I had a great lunch at Pinch of Spice, with a fabulous greeter at door with huge mustache. Everyone was so nice. The drive back was smooth. New expressway makes a big difference. Thanks!

This was a great tour. The Taj Mahal is an incredible experience that is hard to describe. You really need to see it with your own eyes to truly understand how special it is. My tour guide Hussain was fantastic. He was so passionate about India's history and the building itself and very eager to pass on his knowledge. Highly recommend this day trip, although it is a big day and be ready for a lot of driving! Pickup from Hotel at 7am with about a 3 hour drive to Agra rest stop included. Driver was prompt, friendly and drove safely. We met our guide in Agra and he was great, gave us lots of information and helped us take really great photos on our phones! dont do the Photographer thing, the guide knows how to take just as good photos! He also gave us some free time to explore the Taj Mahal and grounds by ourselves. The Agra Fort was also really great and well worth the visit. Lunch was quite good and then the guide gave us the option if we wanted to do some shopping or not. We opted not to and it was great that he gave us the option instead of just taking us there without asking. The drive back to Delhi was also fine, just Delhi traffic is really bad, even on a Saturday! But in a city that big, it is to be expected! The only thing that could be better was perhaps an email or call a few days before confirming the pickup time from the hotel as we needed to know what time to be ready. I tried to call the local number a few times on the day before but had no luck. I was finally able to get through in the afternoon and they confirmed the pickup time and then followed with an email. However I would highly recommend this trip, it is well worth it to see the amazing Taj Mahal and Agra Fort when you don't have much time in Delhi. Everything was well organised and went very smoothly.

The Taj Mahal is absolutely brilliant. You would know that by now. The tour company we picked was frankly trash. Poor planning coupled with a guide who did not appear interested in the job at all. Make sure of the precise itinerary well before you embark. My one star rating is for the guiding company. Agra would score five stars.
