The title of the tour is grossly misrepresented. It should be called History Tour of the Original St.Patrick's Cathedral --- with a brief look at the Catacombs in a hallway. It was maybe 5-7 minutes and self guided in the dark. Definitely not anywhere near enough to warrant the top billing. If you want to learn about the church great, but if you're looking to see catacombs like we were, it's not worth it.

(It was an interesting tour regarding the history of the church and the area, and the people who lived there. The catacombs were not what you might expect if you wanted a more "European" experience, but overall an interesting tour if you like history and the individual tales of the people who were key players in that history. Personally, I would have like it to be more spooky, but maybe you can't tell ghost stories at a Catholic church? It's close to other interesting areas of NYC (SOHO, NOLITA) as a jump off or end point to your day.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this tour. I just did it yesterday late morning. I was expecting to just walk through catacombs and maybe hear a spooky story. But Tommy’s knowledge about local history and his religion were fascinating and he brought the tour to life. Standing by the church and listening to him talk about the challenges previous reverends faced with New York gangs was my favourite part of the whole thing. He’s inspired me to read up further on New York history in my spare time. What a guy 🙌

I have been to several catacombs in Europe and love them. This is nothing like it. The catacombs are actually sealed. Just a hallway with names and dates carved on the walls. The guide was informative. Just don’t expect to see much. IMO was a big waste of money.
