Hawaii's North Shore is one of the world's most famous surf spots. Try your hand at the water sport during your time in Oahu with this beginner surf lesson. Join a small group and learn about proper techniques on the sand as well as ocean etiquette. Then, it's time to hit the water to try and catch some waves while your instructor is on standby.

Check in and meeting place is at Surf N Sea Surf Shop. Staff will check you in and direct you where to meet your instructor. Then in your own vehicle you will drive to the surf spot with the best conditions for the days lesson. **TRANSPORTATION NOT PROVIDED**

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Good intro to surfing at a time when the waves aren't at full strength. Would recommend to wear a wet shirt as the surfboards are foam.

Amazing experience-- smaller group allowed for more 1 on 1 instruction. Henry was an awesome instructor and got us all standing up in no time. The North Shore was beautiful. While paddling out, we had the a couple sea turtles swimming along side us. Everyone made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be back again

Our surf instructor was very good. Definitely made the experience. He taught us everything on the shore and then coached us 1 on 1 in the water. I left the experience wanting to rent a board and surf for the rest of my trip. This lesson was so worth it.

I had a really cool experience and caught plenty of waves and was even able to stand at the end which was not too bad for my first surfing experience ever :) Sam was a very good teacher and always had useful tips on what I could improve. Would absolutely recommend this tour for everyone who wants to surf for the first time. It certainly wasn‘t my last time on a surfboard!

Henry was a great instructor and we really enjoyed our time learning how to surf. It definitely took a lot more energy than we expected, even being fit people. My only recommendation is to have some water or other refreshments like Powerade ready for surfers afterward. We were exhausted and that would’ve been a nice touch considering the price. But otherwise, loved our experience.

Our instructor was very knowledgeable and sensitive to our being absolute novices, which put us completely at ease. We loved it so much, that we plan on doing it again really soon! Thank you for everything, and for those of you who are reading this, don't forget to put on lots of sun block (behind the knees because you will be laying on the board!).

Sam was an excellent instructor! He was patient with our children (17 yo and 12 yo) who were first-time surfers. They had so much fun and even caught a few waves. Thanks for the great, memorable experience!

Our instructor was chill and easy going. He went over the basics on the beacg for about 10 minutes. The rest of the time we were in the water. Having no previous surfing experience I could have used a bit more explanation on certain things but didn't know I needed it until I was on the water. At the end of the lesson, we saw two sea turtles swimming at the shoreline. That was awesome!
