What To Expect

Once aboard the 'Honu Lani', find a spot on the deck and make yourself comfortable for the 15-minute ride to Turtle Canyon. Listen to music on the surround-sound speaker system and enjoy the scenery as Diamond Head comes in to view. Cash in your two included drink tickets for a selection of cocktails, white wine, sparkling wine or beer. Unlimited non-alcoholic drinks are also available. 

Enjoy the sun and the island breeze while you scan the horizon for marine life like spinner dolphins and migrating whales, which pass through the area between December and April. 

The captain will moor the boat at Turtle Canyon, where you will get a safety briefing. Slip in to the water by climbing down a safe stairway off the boat and snorkel among the turtles with your snorkel guide. 

Back on board after your snorkeling adventure, feel free to take a freshwater shower or change in to dry clothing. Enter the the covered cabin for a individualized deli lunch (midday tour only), or hang out on the deck to relax and snap photos of Waikiki and the Ko'olau Mountains as you sail back to shore.

This was such an incredible, surreal experience. The staff were so much fun and so supportive. There was Whitney from the Sacramento, CA area, there was also the young lady from Santa Cruz who was super helpful There was Greg and the other members of the staff that were so helpful on the boat and in the water. I can't wait to come back to HI and do this again, and I wish the staff all the best! They were wonderful.

This was so great! The animals are adorable, the scenery is beautiful & the staff is super helpful. Lunch was good too. I got seasick at the beginning of the boat ride but the staff took care of me & I was fine for the remainder of the experience. Highly recommend!

Was a great experience! The crew was very sweet and made us feel very welcome. On this trip we saw roughly 15 turtles, sting rays, and too many different types of fish to count. Would use this company again!

The entire crew was great! Turtles were hard to see at 30 feet below but ine came up for air right next to us which was awesome. Lunch and drinks hit the spot after the Snorkel. Only bad thing was there were several other boats which made it quite crowded at the spot. Fins were literally in my face and bumping into me. Crew saw this and redirected us to a different location, which was very nice. They really want us to have a good time. The boat was superb for the nice cruise along Waikiki too.

The Captain and crew were terrific! They were very responsible about safety on the boat and in the water. We saw several sea turtles and many different kinds of fish. The experience with Hawaiian Nautical was wonderful and I would definitely recommend the early 8am time which we did as there is less traffic and people in the water vs the later time. The only disappointment was we chose the pick up and getting to the excursion was fine but the company Fly Shuttle that the excursion contracted with kept us waiting an hour in the sun after our excursion ended for our ride. When I contacted Fly Shuttle twice I was informed they were picking up people for the 11 am excursion and then would retrieve us. I hope Hawaiian Nautical will consider using a different service for the pick up which you pay extra for.

The crew was really nice and it was a very quick trip to the snorkel location. We got right in and saw some fish but no turtles for us. Others did see some thought. After an hour of snorkeling we sailed around, had some drinks and chatted with other guests. The crew even caught a fish as they were trolling two rods of the stern as we sailed. We then stopped for a brief (15min) swim/jump. Overall it was very fun.

Captain Grey and Nick and Natalie, were great, we had all so been on the sunset cocktail sail.The night before, we were able to see 5 turtles, be patient as they do spend time on the bottom , when they come up for air, you see them for a couple of minutes, lunch and 2 drinks as well , try the turtle-Tini , mr 10 year old loved it

I booked this catamaran in hopes to see turtles and fish, naturally right? Not one person on the tour saw a turtle in the water. The crew claimed there was a turtle as we were pulling up to the snorkel site. I understand you can't predict if you will or won't see turtles, but you'd assume that they would at least take you to an area with a pretty reef and good snorkeling in case there aren't turtles. Wrong again. I think we saw maybe 10 fish total. With that being said the crew was fun, they kept the drinks flowing and were super accommodating and the lunch was decent. It's hard to complain when you're on a catamaran in the ocean in Oahu when you could be at work, but I wouldn't book this tour again or recommend it. I'd look elsewhere.

We felt very well taken care of on an immaculately maintained boat with plenty of staff on hand for everything from drinks to equipment. We saw so many turtles! Our guide in the water was phenomenal in locating turtles that weren’t where the “moshpit “ of fifty over swimmers and three other boats were congregated. We had a great time!

The crew were absolutely awesome. If it wasn’t for them it would have been a 1 star review. The tour itself is a 15-20 minute boat ride from the marina to just in front of the Hilton hotel and you are there for approx 2 hours for snorkelling, we saw two turtles and loads of fish and relaxation with drinks and a snack. What was really disappointing was the transportation that we paid for when it picked us up 50 minutes late even after calling their office twice to check and got lied to. Then another wait of 25 minutes after the tour to get taken back to our hotel. It is very expensive for what it is.
