What To Expect

After pickup from a central Paris location, relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan as you travel southwest to the regal town of Versailles. Receive an illuminating introduction to the region from your guide and feel suitably impressed by the classical splendor of the Palace of Versailles as you arrive at the UNESCO-listed monument's entrance.

Sail past long lines of visitors with your priority-access ticket and embark on a guided tour of the resplendent residence. Listen to captivating tales of the palace’s former residents, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, as you explore incredible chambers like the Queen’s Apartments and the Hall of Mirrors.

Leave central Paris and head southwest by luxury minibus to the historic town of Versailles, roughly 25 miles (40km) away. Famous as the home of King Louis XIV, the town’s palace, gardens and memorials all attest to the sheer grandeur of his ruling era. Pick up was near the Eiffel Tower and very convenient to our hotel.
The gardens are so big you would have to make another trip to see all of the grounds.

Lucille our guy was very informative with lots of stories about the Kings, the wives, the mistresses of Versailles. The attention paid to the design & purpose of Palace was expressed by our guide & we came away knowing so much more. Lunch was good too.

Wonderful Full Day Trip

Lucille was our wonderful guide for a full day trip. We were treated first rate. Tour of castle had 10. Then we walked through gardens on our own after Lucille pointed out highlights. We included the lunch which was in a lovely restaurant BUT in retrospect we could have booked independently and saved a lot of $ and had more selections. After lunch we were driven to Marie Antionettes village. We had another smaller group tour of the home and village and gardens. That was very special. Lucille answered any questions about all of French history and helped put the kings and revolution in a wider perspective. It was an excellent way to see Versailles and all it has to offer.
Our guide Michelle gave us the most memorable day of our trip!

Our guide Michelle was fantastic! Best tour we did the whole trip! She was friendly and knowledgeable and skipping the lines was worth every penny! Also the lunch was great which is an add on but I highly recommend it. Wear comfortable shoes the place is huge.

Our semi-private tour of five was one of the best I’ve had. Our guide Michelle was fantastic. She really brought to life King Louis the 14th, Marie Antoinette, and others. Understanding them helped bring Versailles to life for us. We all especially loved hearing about the village Marie created.

Isabelle was the best! So knowledgeable and so patient with all our questions. An excellent tour guide. We had so much fun with her showing us Versailles and Queens Hamlet. It was a beautifully done job. Highly recommend this tour. Lunch was also very very delicious!

This tour was awesome! Isabelle was so professional and knowledgeable. My family of 4 were picked up in a very nice van with a couple. We were very comfortable on the ride there. My dad asks a lot of random questions, and Isabelle was able to answer them all! Lol Once there, Isabelle guided us through the palace then let us explore the gardens at our own pace. After, we had a fantastic lunch at one of the cute restaurants in the garden. We finished the day with visiting the queen’s hamlet. Isabelle was kind enough to drop us off near our hotel. Excellent service and highly recommend this tour.

We met our personal guide, Isabelle, at the tour office. If you can, you MUST request Isabelle! From the moment we clicked on our seatbelts, our tour began - she has a friendly, conversational style that immediately draws you in and fills your imagination with the spectacular imagery of Versailles and (you don’t even know this part is happening) a thorough, historically accurate account. The day is over before you know it, and you come away with new perspectives and appreciation. This is the tour you want and need for Versailles.

Everyone told us to skip Versailles because the lines would be too long and it would be so crowded we would not enjoy it. So wrong!!! Our guide Ricardo was not only knowledgeable about the history, but he knew how to navigate the site so efficiently that not a moment was wasted on a line!!

There is so much to be seen at Versailles. It is a complex mixture of opulance, historic individuals and events right through WWI. Our group was small and very friendly. Our guide spoke with us about our destination on the 1hr drive there. He escorted us into the palace and stayed with us for about an hour and a half. Much of his talk was about the mythological figures in paintings...too much. We were then on our own for lunch for about an hour and a half. He then met us to escort us to "the little farm" Le petit Trianion. After about 40 minutes we were again on our own. "How long do you think you"'ll need?" He asked. Well our tour lasted 6 hours including lunch. 3 hours were on our own. This was the priciest tour we took in France and not worth the price.

It was our lucky day - this turned into a private tour as we were the only couple signed up that particular day. Our guide did a spectacular job of getting us to the gates and positioned for entry at our pre-assigned time. She then guided us well through the palace itself over about an hour's time. We then had time to peruse the gardens on our own before meeting at a pre-assigned time and location near the Grand Canal for a 3 course lunch. Following lunch, we were driven a short distance to the Grand Trianon an Petit Trianon. From there, I wandered on my own to Marie Antoinette's village before returning to the vehicle for return trip to Paris. Pick up was near the Eiffel Tower and very convenient to our hotel.

I enjoyed all the knowledge out tour guide shares with us. She was able to answer all our question with great detail. After seeing the long lines I was very thankful to have the tickets to skip the line. There were only six of us during the walk through Versailles which made it easy to listen and stay in a group among so many people. I liked that our guide gave us an hour or so to walk the gardens. I was disappointed that I didn’t get to see more of them. That had nothing to do with our tour. The gardens are so big you would have to make another trip to see all of the grounds. The lunch was excellent! The little lady restaurant was beautiful and the staff was so friendly. Our guide was nice enough to suggest a few other places to see while in Paris. She accommodated is with a drop of where we could walk and visit a few other places in the evening. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
