We reserved an early transfer from a hotel near the Eiffel tower to Gare de Lyon train station.

There was no booking confirmation. Called the operator to confirm the booking and asked to be sent an email and details of the bookings, but again received nothing; we had no idea what vehicle number to look out for/ driver contact details. At the destination (train station), we were dropped outside the train station, NOT at the drop off point, driver didn’t even bother asking which terminal our train was at; we ended up carrying or luggage for a distance. Overall, NOT RECOMMENDED, especially at the cost they are charging.

Our luggage was stuck in the elevator. I asked to Viator to tell the driver not to come until the situation was solved. The driver came and left. We had to pickup a train with my mother that has 76 years old.

Our driver arrived to pick us up on time (a few minutes early, actually), and waited in front of our hotel while we checked out and brought our luggage out to the sidewalk. He helped us load our bags, then drove us to the train station with plenty of time to get through passport control, and still have time for lunch before our train departed. We had a very good experience with our Viator reservation.

Driver was late, emergency phone number went to voicemail 2 of 3 calls, driver made no attempt to assist 70-year old women with luggage. Driver's attitude was taciturn at best. Good news bit: The driver was competent at the wheel.

Driver was 15 minutes early, where he took our luggage while we got a last minute petite dejeuner. First time family to ride the TGV, and driver provided all the information we needed to get to our hall, voie, and car. Got there with no problem, except for me confusing the class number with car number. Fortunately a francais traveling with his family showed me. People in France are very helpful and friendly.

Small Car + Police = interesting morning to the train

Our experience from our hotel to the train station was very different from our arrival from the airport to our hotel. The driver to the train station had a small hatchback not a van like the driver that picked us up at the airport. We have 4 people with large suitcases and a van was requested. The driver was polite and on time, but because of the size of car it was difficult to close the hatch. We were pulled over by the police because he was speeding and given a breath test to make sure he wasn’t drunk (he wasn’t).

Late driver and no communication from the operator

Our pickup was scheduled for 12pm. By 12:20p we had not seen the driver, so I called the company. They said they would check on the driver and call me back. I got a message from them a few minutes later by email saying that the first driver had had vehicle troubles, and that a new driver would be there in 7-8 minutes. The new driver was there by 12:30p and completed our transfer to the train station. 1 star for terrible communication, but added a few stars because they fixed it once I reached out to them (twenty minutes after the scheduled pickup time!). If the driver really had vehicle troubles the company should have been in contact with the driver, let us know if the delay, and sent a new driver right away. Thankfully we planned for plenty of extra time, and they were quick in sending a new driver once I figured out how to get a hold of them.

Our hotel advised us that taxi/Uber’s require 24 hour advance booking due to high demand. We had such a good experience with fire, we decided to book her transferred to the restaurant with them as well. Our driver arrived 15 minutes early which was good because weekday French rush-hour traffic is awful! After spending a week taking the metro, there is no other way we would have made it to the train station on time with our sanity and our luggage intact. Our driver was friendly, informative and new some great backstreet. It was wonderful peace of mind knowing that we had our final transportation taken care of before we started our trip. Would highly recommend this service.

The drivers arrived early in two appropriately sized vehicles. Our driver loaded the our luggage into the van and waited patiently for our group to depart the hotel. He was friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to use Viator in the future.
