What To Expect

Begin your small-group walking tour of Paris by meeting your guide and small group in front of the entrance to the Cité metro station (line 4). From here, you'll travel on foot to Notre Dame, where you'll catch glimpses of the 800-year-old Gothic structure and learn about its history.

Continue over the Pont Neuf, the city's oldest bridge, and into the Tuileries Gardens to see the expanse of carefully manicured greenery. Next, visit the Place de la Concorde, former home of the famous guillotine, and listen to your guide talk about some of the city's most famous and infamous residents such as Henri IV, Louis XIV, and Napoleon. You'll also get a chance to see other Paris landmarks such as the Louvre and the Saint Michel Fountain.

Your small group is limited to just eight people, which ensures an intimate atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to ask questions of your guide. A moderate amount of walking is involved and the tour runs in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately.

Ile de la Cite

Once at the meeting point, you will start your tour by exploring ile de la cite, the oldest settlement in Paris. Once known as Lutetia, this former Roman city was the predecessor of present-day Paris, from which the city grew outwards.

A great way to see the heart of the city and learn about the history of Paris. Hugo was a terrific guide and a pleasure to spend a few hours with. If you want to see ALL of Paris, this isn’t the tour for you. But if you want some highlights and suggestions for other stops, it’s outstanding.
Great time
