What To Expect

Your journey through some of the world’s great artistic treasures begins at the Arc du Carrousel, next to the Louvre entrance. Choose a morning, afternoon, or evening tour and meet your English-speaking guide. Enjoy fast access to the museum with your skip-the-line pass and begin your tour through the massive venue, home to over 35,000 works of art spanning more than 73,000 square meters of exhibition space. Your entrance pass also provides complimentary audio headsets.  

Wander the diverse exhibitions, starting with the Ancient Greek Parthenon, followed by the iconic 'Venus de Milo.' While in the ancient antiquities gallery, view the celebrated 'Winged Victory of Samothrace.' Then head to the Apollo Gallery to see the opulent royal crowns of Napoleon and King Louis XV. Get a taste of the French Revolution with Delacroix’s painting 'Liberty Leading the People,' and take in the Italian Renaissance as you gaze at the work of Michelangelo and Da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa.' With your small group (limited to 25 people), engage in lively chats with your guide and hear entertaining anecdotes, trivia, and history. Or if you've chosen the private tour, enjoy unlimited access to your guide's wealth of knowledge. Afterward, spend as much time as you like exploring the museum independently.

Please Note: Evening tours are limited to Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:30pm. For an extra unique experience, book an evening session and wind through the quiet corridors at night, when the crowds are gone and the artwork is basked in soft light. Enjoy the tour without all the bustle, and finish with great views of the Louvre’s glittery outside pyramid lit up after dusk.

Be aware that you will be going up and down many stairs so wear comfortable shoes for walking and standing.
The museum is huge and can be overwhelming so it is very helpful to have a guide to show you the highlights.
Skip the line is the way to go because the crowds are massive at the Louvre.

I would recommend the Louvre to anyone. Be prepared for the crowds, expecially seeing the Mona Lisa, which was incredible, as was Venus di Milo. Our tour guide, however, on Saturday, March 18 at 2:30, booking 966000986 was not. First, we had to go down stairs which I have trouble with anyway. She took off with the group to the point that when we got down, we had no idea where the group was. Another couple told her we were behind. Once we caught up, my husband told her I had a bad ankle and couldn't walk fast, at which point she took off again. He explained again how it was hard to keep up and she told us we could go on our own and asked for the voice boxes. We were left to wander on our own. I feel we should get a refund for this tour since we could have done this by ourselves and not paid for a tour guide! Please let me know how I can get a refund!

We were raced around and hurried. Hard to keep track of tour guide, easy to get separated. Worried family would get lost. Missed a lot of the museum because had to rush by items. Next time either private tour or no tour.

Very informative tour guide. We enjoyed the tour very much. Our guide was attentive to our interests and he kept a manageable pace even for the older guest who had mobility issues while managing to show us many important pieces of art and artifacts.

Our guide (Marta) was excellent. We spent a good chunk of time around the museum. But, we paid for 12 or less in our group but they kept adding folks until we got to 17. So if you’re looking for a more intimate group be mindful of that.

I was so pleasantly surprised on how amazing this tour was and how massive the museum was. This museum was spectacular and our guide was so engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining. Maxim was so personable with each and every guest. One of a kind experience and we received stories that we would never have known about if we went on our own. Maxim had the backstory on the all the art pieces that he showed us. Would highly recommend this to anyone, we could have stayed there all day with Maxim. He was wonderful and very witty.
