What To Expect

Begin your art immersion tour by meeting your guide at the grand pyramid outside the Louvre. The tour is chronological, so start with the ancient Greek relics at the Louvre and work your way through the centuries at the Louvre before heading to the Musée d’Orsay to continue your art education with the French Impressionist movement.

This skip-the-line small-group tour means you get to walk right past the long line outside the Louvre and dive into your Louvre tour right away. The museum is huge and can be overwhelming, but with an expert guide to lead the way you'll be assured of not missing any of the important pieces in the expansive collection.

See world-famous pieces by the likes of Raphael and Delacroix, the gentle curves of the 'Venus de Milo,' the tragic scene of 'The Raft of the Medusa' and the sly smile of the 'Mona Lisa.'

Take a midday break for lunch (own expense) at a nearby restaurant or cafe, accompanied by your guide, followed by a short walk to the Musée d’Orsay on the other side of the Seine River. The beautiful building housing the museum was once a train station—the Gare d'Orsay—and now contains more than 4,000 pieces of art by 19th-century masters like Monet, Rodin, and Van Gogh.

Again, enjoy skip-the-line entry at the Musée d’Orsay to avoid waiting, and begin your tour right away. Learn about the French Impressionist movement, begun by artists like Renoir, Cézanne, Manet and Gauguin. Hear about what made their techniques revolutionary as you listen to your guide's insights into the Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings you see in the museum.

At the conclusion of your tour, you can enjoy more time to explore the museum's collection at your leisure.

James_L, Sep 2022
Not only being able to see the art and statues but also to be given a personalized explanation of the historical significance all at our own pace was a great experience. Lili was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. I would highly recommend her.

Please don't think twice just book this combo tour, our guide Lillie was absolutely WONDERFUL, her knowledge and passion took my breath away, i did the tour with my 16 year old daughter and we both literally hanged onto her lips, she is by far the best guide we've ever had !! Thanks to Viator all the arrangements went 100% smoothly and i cannot recommend Lillie and Viator enough. Please dont just look at the Louvre the Orsay is mindblowingly beautiful as well. Thanks for making our trip to Paris a truly memorably experience , we will be back

Both our guides to the Louvre and d'Orsay were terrific. It was very crowded in the Louvre when we visited and so getting up close to the Mona Lisa would have been difficult and time consuming. Instead our guide Malaika took us to another DaVinci masterwork, The Virgin and Child with St. Anne, which we were able to get right up to and she was able to tell us so much about the artist and the painting. Bravo, Maliaika! Then we were met by Belen at d'Orsay. She illustrated her passion when she delayed the tour by an hour to allow three of our group to get some lunch after becoming lost on the way to the museum. Then we entered the museum, and I have to say, Belen gave us a Master Class in the ideas of the French Academy and how the Impressionists broke away from the Academy with their theories of light and color. We wish we could return to France and spend a month at d'Orsay with Belen. Céleste, Belen!
Highly Recommend!

First, let me say that this was the second of two tours we took though Babylon Tours. I highly recommend the tours provided by Babylon, as they have great tour options, excellent tour guides, and very detailed and clear instructions to make sure you have everything you need for the tour. We had the pleasure of touring with Daniel. This is a long tour, so it was great to have such a knowledgeable tour guide. He made the whole experience very fun and enjoyable. Thanks Daniel!
Great fun and informative afternoon
Laurentia_G, Dec 2021
We spent the afternoon with Taylor and couldn't have had a better time! She was informative, sweet and answered all the questions we could think of. This tour was a great way to get our footing in the huge maze that is the louvre. The time flew by and was a great introduction to both the louvre and musee dorsay, I cant wait to visit again with my newfound knowledge!
Great Louvre and d’Orsay Tour

Kotryna is an excellent guide: extremely knowledgeable about many subjects and very accessible. Highly remimmend.
Guided combo tour.
Michael_B, Oct 2019
As first time visitors to Paris, this is the best way to see these museums. Not only did we skip the line but Claudia, our guide, was very knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. It does involve a lot of walking and climbing of stairs but I’d do it again in a NY minute.
Great Tour!!

The Best Tour Guide in all of France
Ratna_J, Oct 2018
First, if you're considering taking a guide - do it. You'll pass hundreds, if not thousands of tourists with headphones in their ear, all of whom utterly miss the point of where they are standing. You can't experience this kind of awe-inspiring history without taking it in with ALL of your senses and trust us - a voice in your head yammering away is not a fun vacation. Bellan, on the other hand, will completely change your trip. She's utterly passionate, extremely knowledgeable and she will get you through the museums in record time (all while being a font of knowledge to rival the librarians of Alexandria). We were smiling from ear to ear the whole time as we raced through the halls of the Louvre, learning the right angles to see artwork (and notice all those people with headphones on taking pictures of the wrong side of a sculpture) and most importantly - feeling like we were a part of history. Bellan will make your trip to Paris. Do yourself the biggest favor you can and request her like we did based on everyone else's reviews!
Skip the Line Louvre and Orsay with the BEST Guide - Oliver
KarenMKorbs, Sep 2018
Oliver was so knowledgable and really showed us a good time. He was fun, interesting, asked a lot of questions and showed us the MOST important things to see at both the Louvre and Orsay. This is a MUST when in Paris and ask for Oliver!
Very good tour, but cost not justified.
Wayne P, Sep 2018
Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job on both museum tours. We would recommend the tour to anyone, however not at this price. This was not good value for the money, just plain overpriced.

I like the tour guide, Belen who is extremely professional and is an expert in art and history. She is also very passionate to her job and extremely well in handling my two 9 years old daughters. The duration of the two museums went well for the first time visitors but if you want to explore further for Lourve, you have to go back after Orsay on your own.

Brian B, Jul 2018
Our guide Christina was amazing. She engaged my entire family on the progression of art from the classic to the renaissance to the impressionist and right up to modern art. She showed us the transition of styles and the reasons behind it that opened my family's eyes to art that we never would have noticed before. My wife joked that we learned more in one day than we did in a semester of art history in college. Christina kept the day moving and my kids engaged for the whole time.

This tour was absolutely perfect for us to see the highlights of the Lourve and Musee d’Orsay during our stay in Paris. Belen was an excellent tour guide. She was very educated in Art History which gave us such a wonderful experience of these two museums. I highly recommend this tour.

Atheni ? was great. Exellent English, and understanding of art style and history was remarkable. Obviously a student of art and art history, not just a guide. Made effective use of waiting time security lines to further explain history of period of art to be seen and use of an I-pad to augment this understanding by showing comparisons with other art. We really enjoyed both tours.

JohnTurner_W, Sep 2017
Claudia, our guide, escorted 5 of us straight thru to all the highlights in the Louve. After lunch break, went to d'Orsay and again shown the objects d'art of most interest. Highly recommend the semi-private skip-the-lines tours of two museums in one day. While expensive, is cheaper than an additional hotel night and one does not dissipate his energy standing in lines.
